I found the Clifton 7 very stiff under the midfoot, making the running very uncomfortable. I had the Clifton 6, which worked well for me, so I was disappointed that the 7 was not an upgrade.

I actually love the cushion and feel of these shoes on my heels, but on the ball of my foot I had a lot of issues. First the front width of the shoe was extremely narrow that my big toe was hitting a support bar or something on the inside of the foot when I ran, very painful. I wanted to love them but sent them back.

The shoes were terrible. Cause serious blisters and cuts due to to sharp edge on the interior insole. Customer service was less than helpful.

The length of the shoes are accurate, and they have great cushion. I will say if you overpronate like me, the shoes will not allow at all for this. This is a good thing and bad thing. My knee started hurting after I wore these for a day, and my bunion became horribly inflamed and in general my foot hurt. It has been a couple years since I wore Hoka and was excited to wear another pair. Unfortunately, I recycled the boxes so can't send them back for a refund. Hope this review will be useful to someone who overpronates.

I used Hoka's sizing based on my other tennis shoes and they recommended sizing up from 7.5 to 8. When they arrived they were the correct width, but a full thumb-length too long. Plus, the lack of arch support felt like the wrong fit for me. I returned them and chose not to exchange for another size.

My new Hoka Clifton's replaced my 2 yr old pair - this time I ordered size EE but they feel tighter than than my D's - should have returned them but am trying to make them work by loosening the strings as much as possible. I especially do not like the new tongue stay

I had high hopes that these shoes would work for me after Nike quit making the style I've been wearing for years. These shoes look decent - and felt okay for a couple of hours. But then the arch support started feeling like stepping on a Lego with every step. My foot still hurts after taking them off. These are the third brand I've tried since wearing out my last pair of Nike Structures and they are definitely the least comfortable. A total waste of $130.

I have loved the Clifton 5 and 6, but am disappointed in the 7. The toe box feels narrower. Still a solid distance shoe, but I'm holding out hope that the next version is a return to what made previous Cliftons so fantastic.

These are my first pair of hoka's. I am used to wearing Nike Air Zoom Pegasus. I only do short runs, never more than 3 miles. I've only been able to do a mile for the couple of runs I've taken because I am in so much pain. My feet hurt during the run and it travels through the back of my legs. I've had some discomfort in my knees during runs before, but never like this. My achilles hurts for a majority of the run. Not sure if I still need to adjust to the shoes or if I just need to call it and look into a different pair.

Unfortunately, these shoes did not work for me. They had a lot of cushion. The guard rail caused my knees to hurt a lot. I sent them back. I don't believe it has anything to do with the shoe. We were just not a good match.

I had two pairs of Clifton 4s. . These were Clifton 7. They were too narrow. I’ve never worn a wide so I don’t know if a wide would have worked I’ll have to go to a shoe store and try on some different shoes and widths.

The fit wasn't great. The last pair of Hoka same style fit better. These were larger. I don't know if someone sent wide width or what but I am disappointed

I'm a big fan of the Clifton 6 and bought these as the 6 was worn out. The new design is much more narrow, causing a lot of pain. I returned these without a hassle.

So comfortable when I first put them on and feel great for a quick run, but when I wear them for longer than 30 minutes I get horrible blisters in weird places, like behind my arch and on the side of my front toe? Seems like other reviewers have the same problem with this model. I don't know if it's the shape of my feet or what, but I'm returning for a different pair.

I wanted to like these, but after a few wears was having back issues that I never had before and that have stopped since I stopped wearing them. Obviously not the shoe for me.

I was so excited to get these in just to be highly disappointed. There is no place near me to try a pair on so I used the recommended sizing online. They were too small and narrow. They also had an arch that hurt my foot as soon as I put them on. So I'm not going to be able exchange them. Sent them back the same day I received them. I loved the colors! And they felt super light!

The sole of the clifton 7 feels like there is extra cushion on the outside on the heel causing excessive over pronation. My shins have been in pain the whole time I have been trying to break these in. I do not think I will re-purchase these or even wear them running anymore.

I am a size 10 in running shoes in every other brand (Adidas, Asics, Saucony, etc.) but the size 9.5 in Hokas fit me best. These shoes look awesome but after wearing them for 10 minutes I started getting significant pain in my arches (I have low arches). I tried using different orthotic inserts in the Clifton Hokas, but the pain persisted so I had to return. It was something about how the foot bed felt--it felt higher on the outside edge of my foot and like it was making my overpronation worse. I would not recommend for people with flat feet. The Clifton 7 showed up in the Shoe Finder search where I indicated that I have low arches, so it was pretty disappointing. Luckily the return process was very easy. I'll likely go back to Asics Gel Kayanos. That being said, my husband has excellent arches and absolutely loves the Clifton 6 Men's series. So it isn't a matter of quality but just finding the right fit for your foot.

The shoes overall are nice, but the outer edges of my feet hurt. Maybe there were not for me, but I need to have nice support, and there were just not it.
