I am 74 and overweight! I run a small business and am on my feet for 6 to 8 hours every day! These shoes are amazing, they really eliminate my foot pain!

After putting roughly 67 miles in these shoes, I have been very impressed with comfort and style. I have wide feet and have no problem with these shoes. Wonderful grip wet or dry. Material is above par for cleaning and spraying off your Altras. As my first trail shoe purchase, I am impressed and thankful for the investment.

Very happy with this shoe. Repeat owner of many Altra shoes. These are my favorite for backpacking and also good for trail running.

I tried the Lone Peak for 400 miles during my AT Thru Hike. I love the comfort but didn't think it was durable enough, especially Rocksylvania. I have worn the 3.5 daily and have loved the comfort but worn out the tread. I am preparing to Thru Hike the Buckeye Trail that is more paved then the AT so looked at the Superior for ultimate comfort. However, when I compared it to the Olympus, the Vibrum Sole made all the difference. I would urge Hikers that like the feel of Altras to purchase the Olympus for the Treadwear! Fast becoming my number one Hiking Shoe,

Following the advice from Homemade Wanderlust I tried a couple of pair of trail runners. They are by far the most comfortable shoe I have. I bought the above ankle and the low cut. I love them both. Can't wait to get them out on the Colorado Trail.

The Olympus Is my last hope! SUPER COMFY!! They fit my freakishly wide feet great and I am very happy with the hiking comfort. I am not a runner, I will be doing backpacking in them this spring and summer. My only concern is Altra will reduce the width like all the other Altras that I loved. Please leave these as is they are perfect! "Normies" have a Gazillion options already.... I have hiked hundreds of miles in Lone Peak 3.0 mid neoshell but those days are over.
Pssst....Hey Altra your width in the toe box not just the zero drop is why you became so successful, there is literally no competition for your original concepts of wide (EE) toe box that can hold up to the rough trail. I'm already telling my friends about the Olympus who are trying to figure out what to buy since the unfortunate narrowing of the LP Mids and Timps. The cushion of the Olympus is amazing AND The Olympus has Gaiter traps too!! Not sure what I'll do if they change this shoe also. If you have narrow feet please don't buy the Olympus, they are not designed for you.

So far I have no complaints. I've ran in dry conditions, mud, and snow. They aren't meant for wet conditions but they did ok keeping my feet dry. They fit great and seem well built. The cushioning and support is great too. I have only been on 3 runs with them so far. 8-10 miles per run. I hope they make a water proof version and that the cushioning lasts for a while.

I am 6'6", 220 lbs. and wear a size 13 and 1/2. The 14's work great! I bought these shoes for a hike on Camelback mountain and other hikes in the Phoenix area . All these hikes have lots of loose gravel. The soles on this shoe gripped like a gecko on a tree branch. No slippage! I was also concerned that my toes would hit the end of the shoe on the way down since it wasn't a traditional hiking boot. No problem as it held my feet in place very snugly. Did I mention the amazing cushion these shoes have as well. I have chronic arch problems and wear orthotics. Didn't need the orthotics the whole hike and my feet did not hurt later. Will be buying more pairs of these just to put in my closet as they wear out.

These seem like the best shoes ever for hiking and for a wider foot not sure if a narrow foot would like them as much only thing they are lacking is to be waterproof

I have lost count of the number of Altra Olympus' I have had over the years, but they are still the best running shoe out there for me! I have Morton's Neuroma in my small toes on my left foot, but it never acts up during or after my run due to the wide toe box. I generally run on roads (including grass and embankments) and the cushioning is just perfect! Glad to see that the newest version is as good if not better than the prior versions.

Fighting width of another brand during a heavy training cycle and a friend turned me on to the Olympus right before our Rim2Rim2Rim at the Grand Canyon! These are best shoes I've ever worn. Altra, where have you been all my life?! Signed, a new lifetime customer.

I fractured my knee last year and needed a softer cushion. I bought some Olympus shoes and recently got the model 4. I've used Hoka Speedgoats for trails but am switching to Olympus now. SG's ripped!

Excellent shoes. I've been buying the Altra Olympus for years, at least 10 pair. Only complaint is availability of my required size 14. It is totally hit or miss, usually miss! I settled for bright blue this time, black not available.

Critical comments first: I ordered half a size larger due to the length; that's my fit with Altra.
I'm preparing for simultaneous total knee replacements and I haven't run for a few years. I'm (probably overly) optimistic about the outcome of the surgeries, so I bought the Olympus 4s. I'm thrilled that I did! I've had Provisions, Timps, earlier Olympus, Lone Peaks, etc., and I'm never disappointed. This iteration of the Olympus is *perfect* in my opinion. I've only had them a few weeks, so I can't vouch for long term results, however I have nothing but positive regards for them so far.

Olympus 4 are my go to running shoes, at 60yrs old I get a lot of stress pain and these shoes shut them off! I will get a second pair just so I don't have to train with out them. I like to rotate multiple pairs and I've been using Hokas but not any more! I did have a small issue and I worked with Joy in customer service and she's is amazing! They have a customer for life!

Used the Olympus on a 6 mile trail run in the Santa Monica Mountains. Perfect fit, very stable, no blisters, enough room in the front both ways. I got one full size up - a 14, usually it's 13 for me, i noticed Altra shoes (i own Lone Peak and Torin as well) run a bit small and i need the extra room in the front, I still use the Arcteryx Norvan, however the Olympus has a definite edge in the comfort area.
