I use them for hiking (not running). The foot pain I used to feel in the ball of my foot (wearing Hoka's) is completely gone!! These have a much wider toe box, more springy cushioning, and are constructed better. From now on, I'm sticking with Altra.

This shoe is perfect, wide enough for my foot, and super comfortable! I've owned 3 pairs over the pandemic.

Alternate three pairs of Olympus 4's for daily trail runs (in So. Cal). Able to wear Correct Toes as I work thru some issues. Really comfortable trail shoe. Grateful for (a truly) foot-shaped toe box.

I'm 67 years old and love to walk. 15 to 20 miles per week on serious hills. My feet have been complaining for years. These shoes feel like I'm walking on a bouncy pad and my feet love it. Well worth the extra money.

I have picked up hiking as a new hobby within the last year and have really struggled with foot pain during my hikes. Prior to this purchase I hiked in some brooks running shoes. My feet would hurt terribly with the first two miles which would then cause pain in my knees and up into my hips as the hike went on. I did a lot of research and was turned on to Altra's trail runners. I am a woman, however, when it comes to outdoor gear I'm always skeptical in purchasing women's gear bc of companies not making outdoor products with as much attention to detail and quality as men's products. Needless to say, I purchased a size 8.5 mens shoe in these so that it would match a woman's size 9.5 and I am on cloud 9. I broke these shoe's in on a 3 day 2 night backpacking trip with lots of elevation and distance to cover. I was without pain and the grip on these shoe's left me with awesome ability to descend and ascend steep rocky areas with ease. I even had a couple of instances where a wood shard from a root would grab the exterior toe box of the shoe and just snap off without puncturing the shoe. A normal shoe would have just punctured and possibly injured my toes! These shoe's gave me confidence and comfort and I will recommend them to everyone.

As an avid hiker I occasionally suffer from heal pain and serious impact and pressure discomfort. This product has changed that for the better. Not only do they relive existing heal pain but they have an incredibly comfortable foot bed, coupled with excellent sole grip. They have helped reduce, if not eliminate, past and future hiking aches and pains during highly technical hikes! Customer for life!

I bought the Lone peaks, but couldn't get use to running flat foot, or on my toes. I really like the lone peaks though and they're super comfortable for walking around. Plus I really dig the Foot Shape. So thought I'd try the Olympus since I'm a heel striker. The Thicker soles are great. I threw out my New Balance shoes, because the Olympus was lighter. I run on mostly concrete sidewalks and occasionally mix in dirt lots. Hopefully someday Altra will sell cycling shoes.

Went on a 17m. Hike 900ft accent. My attention was not on my feet because I was so comfortable.
These are my go to long trail hiking shoes.
I feel like a Super Hero.
I recommend these shoes to the world!

Cushy on every step without the springing effect. Even on gravel, they're protective. Grippy soles, but I'd prefer if the entire sole was rubber instead of the middle being foam. (The rubber would last longer)
I've only ran 20 miles, but still loving them, and would get them again.

Used lone peaks mtn and trail for years and have been my favorite shoes, the Olympus 4 has exceeded all expectations of comfort, sizing, performance and style, I absolutely love them! The mesh toe upper is fantastic and super breathable, and also vents water well if you come across puddles or water hazard.

This is the the iteration of the Olympus I've run in and it doesn't disappoint! has all the features I love and some real upgrades (new tongue is great and extended rear heel rocks for downhillls). Kudos and keep'em coming!

I am currently under-employed, working in a warehouse overnight. I manage a crew of order selectors who place heavy cases onto pallets for next day delivery. Wine and spirits. I work on my feet 14-16 hr shifts, 4 days each week. I owned a pair of the original Timps and found them to be the most comfortable fit for me. The newer versions weren't the same dimensions so I purchased a pair of Lone Peaks at a local store recently. I settled for a size too small and regretted instantly. Gave them to one of the crew. He loves them. I purchased these Olympias and have abused them for several weeks. I help load trucks, I walk all night, I select orders when needed. I've put these through quite a lot already. So far I am impressed with the quality and the fit is perfect. As comfortable as my original Timps. Looking into my next pair for use at the gym. Weight lifting and some cardio. Unsure which shoe to purchase. Need the same wider toe box, for sure.

The shoes are still new. I haven't ran in them yet. I think the price could be cheaper because the shoe wrinkles really fast. I only wore then 3 times.

Not as wide in the toebox as other Altra models I have which work great for me. Grip is great on pretty much everything but ice/snow. Cushion is fantastic. The stackheight isn't as tall as expected. Overall a great shoe for the long haul. Would definitely buy again.

So far so good. Shoe width fits me perfect, but I could see where some might feel its tight. My foot feels locked down in shoe, comfortable. The vibram grip sure does hold the ground very well, no slipping. Great shoe! Wish Altra would make a boot with the max cushion
