This is the best Altra I've had and I've had 4 other pairs. Very well built. Extremely comfortable with vibram sole.

After being run over by a car and shattering my spine Weaving me with five fused vertebrae I can recommend the Olympus 4.0's for anything you do that involves you being on your feet! Don't believe me come to Atlanta and work out with me!

I needed some new shoes recently. I've been buying another brand for years, just cuz. But then my oldest brother came to town to visit. He's wise in the ways of footwear and recommended Altra. I decided to give them a try. Oh My Flying Spaghetti Monster! these are the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned!!! Great build quality, excellent feel and fit, nice thick cushioned sole. I love everything about these shoes

I only wear Altras, and have had ~ 10 pairs in the past few years. These are my favorite Altra shoes yet. The traction from the Vibram is far better than their other shoes. Durability it also top notch, I get over 500 miles out of the Olympus. These shoes handle the slippery rocks/roots of New England much better than the timps/LP can. I hardly ever fall with these shoes on, but with the Timps I was slipping and skidding around on the technical trails in Northern New England.

Recently ran a 100 miler in the Olympus. Perfect shoe with plenty of cushion, traction and stability. Dried out well after water crossings too. Only complaint is the cost but they're hopefully built to last longer than your typical shoe.

Just wore them to the Muir Snowfield, paired with Arc'teryx soft shell pants and Altra gaiters. Rained the whole way, good traction and feet stayed dry. Switched to the Nepals at the snowfield though.

Love these. Love the wide toe box, great grip for hiking, superb cushioning. I find most athletic shoes are overly colorful and ugly. These are no exception. Oh well.

I use these for casual wear around town, walking the dog, etc. Also, really excellent for when I'm on my feet all day, as at a convention.

It has a wide toe box and feels like your walking - in a comfortable marshmallow! In a good way . I hiked (hundreds of miles PCT) with to heavy of a pack was happy with durability and comfort..go with black , my prior pair was blue and a little to clown circus look. I'm on my second pair, and I love them.

Perfect for Everything, worn it on a few summit trails and some 10+ mile hikes, and around town. Everyone loves them, few even ask where and what they are.

I bought these shoes to walk/ hike trails in. Once again Altra has out done themselves. I love my lone peaks and they are still my go to but these have a different comfort level. Lots of grip from the vibram soles, cushion is just right, and very light weight and breathable. Just buy a pair!

One of the most comfy shoes I have ever purchased. Fit my Fred Flintstone feet well with lots of cush in the heel. I'm a big guy and these really work for me

I own a pair of Lone Peak 5s and they're absolutely great, but I wanted something with more cushion for longer hikes (10-15 miles) on packed trails of dirt and gravel while carrying a moderately heavy backpack. The Olympus 4s are perfect, with plenty of cushion and Altra's signature toebox. No hot spots, blisters, or problems of any kind. For trail hiking, I would strongly recommend the Olympus 4s. They're both comfortable and durable.

I have put these shoes through A LOT. They have been great every step. I'm doing one more trail half marathon this weekend and then they will be retired and I'll buy another pair of the same. Love these shoes!!

So far I've worn my Olympus 4's around as my daily casual shoe. Will use for hiking in Switzerland next week. They feel great and love having the Vibram sole not sure how they will hold up when pushed.

Have worn various models of Altra shoes, hands down the best shoe I have ever worn for the application I'm using them for. Weather your on the trail or the road , maximum stability is obviously the idea here.

I have size 15 wide feet. Olympus 4 fits perfectly. I tested them by climbing Quandary peak, in Breckenridge, CO - the shoes felt and performed great.

I purchased these to help lighten my load while backpacking. I did a 10 mile out and back in the White Mountains of NH and they performed beyond my expectations. No slippage on wet rocks and my feet felt like I didn't even go for a hike. I'm sorry I waited so long to get into trail runners but I'm glad I did. I will definitely be wearing these throughout the three seasons of hiking.

I ordered these shoes for my husband. I am a physical therapist and I frequently recommend Altra's to patients. My husband was planning to hike the ridge of the Bridger Mountains and these shoes completely took his Achilles pain away that he had been having while training. He loves them so much that he had me order him an outdoor pair and a gym pair.

I've been a hiker for decades and was especially hardcore when my family lived in Vermont5 minutes from the Appalachian trail. It took a little getting used to the 0 drop but I think now that I'm adjusting, they are amazing shoes. I put other running shoes on and immediately noticed the pressure on my forefoot from the heal rise. I was concerned because I was going on a trip to North Carolina where I would be doing a lot of hiking. The best cushioning I've ever experienced with tenacious grip. I got in the car after being on my feet all day and doing lots of ups and downs and I didn't even think of taking the shoes off! Are usually get a lot of forefoot discomfort if I walk long enough but not with these! I can't really speak to the durability since I've had them for such a short time. Naturally, I'm a little concerned because of some of the comments. But the fact is hiking is sometimes brutal on shoes of any kind. Especially when you're carrying 215 pounds lol. But so far, I give them a thumbs up, waaay up!
