I am in love with these shoes! I put a good 12-15 miles on my shoes and I cannot seem to find something I don't like about these or Altra in general. The quality is top notch, the size is perfect, the cushion is exactly what I needed! Would 100% recommend to anybody!

I never knew such a shoe existed. I am an Altra cult follower since discovering this brand and these by far are my favorite. Nothing fits my high arch with wide toe better than this shoe, all while giving me cushion on my run. Thank you Altra.

Love love love these shoes! They actually have enough room in the toe box so that your toes are not squished together while providing excellent support!

I had to go down from an 8.5 to an 8 on these shoes because the shape of the toe box accommodates for my wide feet and I still have plenty of room for my toes at an 8. I have a small bunion that I developed working as a nurse but it strangely grew more underneath my foot on the ball of my foot. Every doctor told me to get a wide shoe and nothing stopped the pain from standing until I got these. The zero drop was the solution to the pressure on the balls of my feet and I have plenty of arch support as well as room for my bunion to not get irritated. Literally tried every brand. I spent almost $1,000 and this was the only thing that worked for me.

This is my third pair of Escalantes and I have to say Altra hit a home run! I love the Escalante because of their light, 'cloud like' feel, but these are by far the lightest!! I could wear them all day, every day. Please don't change this design!!! IMO they are the best fitting, most comfortable running shoe I've ever owned and I've been running for 9 yrs.

This is my first pair of zero drop shoes. I've been wearing these so far on a treadmill and for doing strength training indoors. When I put these on, it feels like I am wearing slippers. They are so comfortable and flexible. My only complaint is that even though they are the correct size, my feet pop right out the back doing anything like a burpee or popjack type move on the floor. So I can't really wear these for the bootcamp style classes I do on my treadmill because I can't keep the shoes on my feet! It didn't seem worth downgrading a star for that since it's a very specific problem I'm having.

I run long distances (5-10miles) on the road a couple times a weeks and these shoes are AMAZING! Super lightweight, not bulky, and comfortable. Wish I found them earlier!

First pair and I love them! After being stuck in running shoe limbo for years I have found my Cinderella shoes. Love the zero drop. Love how they feel underfoot. They keep my form honest and my knees are thanking me for finding these. Please give us a heads up if you plan on changing anything so I can stock up.

Super comfortable shoes. I love the soft fabric upper. I've already put 60+ miles on them and they feel great.

It was about 2 years ago that I switched to the Altra Escalante through the suggestion of my friend, who works at the Running Shoe store. It just so happened that the person responsible for the idea of the shoe was in the store. I heard the whole story of how and why my foot will feel natural. Believe me, it was true! I wore them out in daily use (No running). I am on my 2nd pair and would highly recommend anyone to try them. My feet love them as much as my calves and legs! Thanks!

I love these running shoes! They are out of the box comfortable! So thankful you all redesigned bc I was not a fan of Escalante 2.0. Highly recommend!

I was an early fan of Altra, I loved the wide toebox and zero drop. But then they made some changes and those changes were not good. I'm so glad Altra redesigned the Escalantes and went back to the spirit of the originals! I love these shoes. The slipper feel of the shoe is great and the fit is just fantastic. I hesitantly bought the 2.5s several months ago; I had been so disappointed in some of the changes made that I switched brands but hadn't found anything that works for my foot like Altras. These are so comfy, and have held up so well I just purchased two more pairs. Thanks Altra! Don't ever change!

These shoes are super springy out of the box and again have the wider toe box and stretchier upper. The 2.0 was a miss for me. More narrow/ tight/ firm and just bothered my feet. These shoes felt like heaven and I am glad the shoe is back to more of it's roots. I agree with the others. The colors are very offputting. Much prefered color options in previous versions, but pleased with the function and feel of the shoe, which is what matters most. My Altra escalante 1.5 pairs each lasted 400-500 miles, and hoping these do as well!

Love the escalante again. Previous version no, but now back to comfort and flexibility from before. Best shoe for me for running. Please don't change again!

The women's Escalante 2.5 is frankly my best friend. I began running again last January after not running for many years. I started with a different shoe but once I switched to Altra's there was no discomfort and running again was - and is - a joy.

Loved the 1.0s, hated the 1.5s, never tried the 2.0s, really like this iteration. It's slightly firmer than the 1.0s which makes it delightfully more responsive, though a tad less flexible. But it's still lovely cushiony like the 1.0s, and especially in the midfoot/forefoot where I like to land. That is why I hated the 1.5s, not enough cushion under my balls. Hoping it might get more flexible with use. My flat feet need to flex to absorb shock. Size 8 in the 1.0s fit me perfect but size 8 in these is way long. Size 7.5 in these is just big enough, could be a tiny bit bigger, but they'll suffice.

They are very comfortable for my feet. I have had several surgeries and have a hard time finding shoes that fit well. I walk a lot and can do it in comfort now that I have these sneakers.

I recently switched to running primarily on pavement and was looking for a good road shoe. These are winners! I have had a lot of problems with my wide feet, but the wide toe box is perfect. I also like the lightweight construction. They are pretty flat, which I like, but they still have good cushioning on the bottom.

On 2 nd pair! First tried 1.5 and the zero drop helped my torn meniscus! Bought a 2.5 and was very pleased with the increased shoe box materials stability. My only gripe is the black band of rubber between the shoe upper and the shoe base. The black paint comes off with minor scuffing or rubbing. Manufacturer: Consider a solid black beading instead of a painted black white one. And I'm sold for life. Love my Lone Peak Trail also. Tread could be a bit more sticky material to handle downhills better. Altra for life on my feet.

I love these shoes! I have been an Altra fan since the first version came out but was disappointed with the revision. These, however, are as wonderful as the original. I say true to size, but for all running shoes, I go up a full size. The shoes are comfortable. I like being able to feel the road. I feel like I run more on the balls of my feet for a lighter touch. The ONE THING I WOULD CHANGE (PLEASE NOTE!) are the colors!!! The green reminds me of pea soup. Please add pink and purple (as you had for other versions of the shoe).

Three years ago I went to an ortho doc about my knees which were incredibly painful. A scan showed my cartilage was shot in both knees and would require replacing both knees. I had large bone bruises from bone on bone grinding. He also suggested that if I could wait a few years I should since I was younger than the usual patient. After a year of cane usage and daily advils, I watched hiking videos to see how they took care of their feet and knees. Bought two pair of Altra trail runners. Itchin a couple of weeks I had no pain, no cane and no Advil. Bought a pair for a daughter with knee issues. Again no pain, no cane and no Advil. When I found they had shoes dressy enough to wear with business clothes, I bought two pair. They are just as amazing as the trail runners. I am a convert and only wear older shoes to mow the yard and I pay a price for that. This is the best money I have ever spent (except for paying for my marriage license) to improve my quality of life. Knees still need replacing but I can put that surgery off indefinitely.

I love my Altras. This is my second pair of Escalantes which I love for a faster shoe. I alternate with the Torins for more cushion. Both shoes are lightweight and have the wider toe box that allows for my toes to have space. Best running shoes out there! I do have to get arch support insoles because there isn't much support for my high arches but I have to do that regardless of shoe brand.

These are so comfortable right out of the box. I have wide feet and these for perfectly. I do need a heel lock when I run and that was a bit tricky in these but I made it work. These are definitely my go to for road and treadmill running.
