Fit and fabric are super comfortable. After spending 5 yrs in a tropical climate, my body couldn't get used to the east coast chilly temp. This product definitely keeps me warm!

Base layer for wading during fly fishing

Bought as base layer for football games. Worn it Sunday and it worked perfectly

The perfect combination with a pair of lined utility pants. Some might say that it doesn't get that cold in Phoenix MD, but this fall the has been fiercely winty and this layer has been great for that.

As a car salesman, most of my free time is spent standing outside for up to hours on end waiting for a customer to roll in. These base layers keep me warm while motionless in the upper Midwestern winter, they have made my workday much more bearable and comfortable.

I wear my smart wool under my clothes every day in the winter helps keep my temperature regulated. Once I get cold I cant get my body back up to a comfortable temperature unless I take a hot shower and I cant do that in the middle of a work shift.

Works great for a base layer out on the cold river. The size S is a nice close fit for me at 5'7", 145lbs. Love the feel of wool.

My wife and I are climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro in late June and this purchase completes my hiking gear for the hike. I wear my 4 x 1/4 zip 150 & 250 weight tops all the time and recommend Smartwool to any one and everyone.

I purchased this for my base layer. I do wear 3/4 pants but wanted an added layer on cold days. I like the product but my one complaint (or suggestion) is to offer a 3/4 or short/ tall versions. I'm a short 5'10" and a medium was too long. I originally purchased a large and they were swimming in me.

Great base layer! Very warm and doesn't restrict movement! Highly recommend for anyone outside for hours during winter. Use them during winter days for delivering packages.

Quality is good as usual for Smartwool. Shipping leaves a lot to be desired. It was supposed to be delivered 2/7 finally got it 2/14. Tracking wouldn't open at least half the time. Never on computer only on phone. Will look hard to buy some place else

Not as warm as i thought

Great layer when it's cold. I work outside and these are great when it's winter time. Fit right and always keep me warm.

Long time buyer of smartwool. These were a bit lower cut at the waist than my old pair, so I like the fit of my old ones better. These are excellent for what I do (backcountry skiing). I wear a 34 waist pant and bought a size large. The website would not let me select a star rating.

Love the Smartwool Cassic Base Layer. It is very comfortable. They are very pricy and it was more than I wanted to spend but I am happy. I have a long inseam so really my only grip is that I would like the length of them to be a bit longer to reach my ankles.

Perfect! Works great tucked into socks and work boots over top.

I have a lot of synthetic long John's, but these wool ones are far superior. They just keep you warmer.

These are a huge upgrade from my previous non-merino wool base layers. I wanted to get away from the plastic fibers and these were better than I expected. The Medium sized fit my 32inch inseam perfect and the feel is so much better than my previous base layers!

Unfortunately I decided to return this item for the very reason the waistband was uncomfortable. I had owned an old version of these by Smartwool that I was replacing. The older model (many years old) had the waistband that was much less constricting and was covered by material. It was very comfortable and you hardly knew you had them on. This new version is also 100% merino but the waistband is not covered and is pure elastic. I found it quite uncomfortable and I always knew I had them on.

My son uses these under his work jeans. He is picky & only likes the thermal wool brand. Keeps him warm & comfortable all day!
