I have been buying Mizuno Wave Riders for several years now and this is the worst shoe I have ever bought. They feel too small, the right shoe pinches on a top nerve, and the sole on the left shoe feels like there is not enough cushion causing discomfort. Something just isn't right with these and they were difficult to break into. Took about 5 wears to walk through and during that time, my feet and whole legs hurt where I would have to immediately take them off after a long walk and try again after a few days. Come on, Mizuno. You can do better than this for this price.

Runs really small in size. I wear an 8 in casual shoe and 8.5 in runners. I ordered an 8.5 and they are an 1/2 size too small and I will Not order a 9. I was going to give these a try but returned and went back to my brooks.

This shoe has some sort of hard plastic at the toe which butts up against one's toes. Very uncomfortable. Makes this shoe unwearable.

These ran so small I couldn’t even get my foot into it I squeezed my foot into it and it was like nothing I’ve ever felt before I wouldn’t recommend buying your true size for the sneakers at all at least size up one full size and the width is really really narrow.

This fit way different than any of the other Mizudo's I tried on. Very uncomfortable and small.

I feel terrible returning these shoes, and I feel terrible for Zappos getting all these returns. I've been wearing Mizuno sneakers for several years, but this time they're beyond narrow and small. I'm a 7.5 medium usually and I buy an 8 medium to put in my own orthotic, but this time, even the 8.5 sneakers are too narrow.

It is a very good looking shoe this is my first time trying this brand. Unfortunately it was the most uncomfortable shoe I have ever worn. After wearing them for 2 hours I felt pain from my ankle all the way to my upper calf and knee. I'm not talking about just being uncomfortable those shoes were extremely painful. Probably will never buy from this brand at all.

I usually love mizunos but really hate this pair! The tongue of the shoe is connected to the bottom which makes them harder to put on and feel too snug.

Dont bother if you're used to the previous versions of this shoe. I ordered my usual 6.5 and it was way too small. I exchanged it for a 7 and it's still too small. It's so tight in the toe box I can't even comfortably wiggle my toes around. Returned and am disappointed and afraid I'll have to find a new go-to running shoe.

Unfortunately, the shoe sizing in the Wave Rider is not consistent. Wore the same size in this model for 15+ years and now the same size is too small. Had to pay $25 for return and will not purchase online again.

I am normally a 8.5 wide. Reviews recommended going up a size, so i did. Unfortunately it was STILL a tight fit. It felt narrow though the sides (toes, balls of my feet) and it was pressing tight against the top of my feet in the toe/top of feet area. Definitely returning this shoe.

I should have listened to the reviews! Awkward fit. I exchanged for a larger size but it's way too wide now. I want to try one more with the more narrow fit, it doesn't even give me the option to exchange again! I really like the cushion of the sole, but don't know why then fit is so strange. I don't have long or wide feet
I'd also recommend:

I've been wearing Mizuno running shoes for probably 18 years. I switched to the Waveknit and loved them but was aware that they wear out more quickly. I stuck with them anyway because they are so light and comfortable. I had two pairs of the last Waveknits and ordered these and they have redesigned them -- go back to how they were! I don't like the tongue, my regular size for 18 years is too small, and they do not feel the same at all. They are going back.

Terrible! I've been running in Wave Riders for many many years. Ordered my usual Mizuno size in these (which is a whole size up) and the first thing I noticed is that they have weird really wide straps that attached the tongue (really thin tongue) to the bottom of the shoe and those straps have bulky binding around the edges that you can feel when you put your foot inside the shoe. Bumpy uncomfortable seams in the shoe. I took them on a run and my feet went numb before I made it a mile! These are too short in length and too shallow in the top of the foot. My toe was trying to bust out the top. I really tried with these. Adjusted the laces to try and create space (where there just isn't any) and took them on two more runs. Same thing. On my longer run I was really trying to get my miles in but I was in pain with numb feet had to stop early and ended up with blisters on the bottom edges of both my feet where those goofy tongue straps are attached to the bottom of the shoe. I'm so mad! Never again Mizuno! These "Knits" are totally different from the regular wave riders.

I'm a long-time Mizuno customer. Each time my current pair ran out, I'd simply order the latest version in my same size and they fit perfectly. This time, however, the shoes are NOTABLY smaller. I ordered the 7.5 Regular Width (my usual size) and my big toes were smashed up against the front of the shoe, and the rest of the toes were crunched together in the toe bed. I could barely tie the laces! I exchanged them for an 8 Regular Width, thinking that would solve the problem, but even in 1/2 a size up, my heel was pressed tightly against the back and the width was extremely narrow. Not sure what the deal is with this batch, but be warned if you are a Mizuno loyalist: They probably won't fit the way you're used to!

Hello All, I own several pairs of Mizuno shoes. I loved the Wave Rider 16. It had the best color offerings and best fit for my foot. But something is up with the 24. It felt ok when I tried it on and for the first jog. But the next time after in started to squeeze down hard on my metatarsal and first proximal phalanges. I hoped that it was just needing a little breaking in. Nope, now I have formed a knot on my foot that is sensitive even when the show is off. Additionally, the light colors pick up dirt instantaneously. PLEASE GO BACK TO PURPLE! IT WAS A GREAT COLOR AND DIDN'T SHOW STAINS!

I have worn Mizunos for YEARS, and I hate these shoes! They were too small, and they felt very snug. They are designed differently than previous Wave Riders, they have an elastic feeling part near the laces which makes the shoe feel very snug. When I ran in them, it felt like there was a bump in the left shoe bed. They were so uncomfortable and it hurt my left foot to run. I’m so sad bc Wave Runners are my favorite shoes. I went back and bought 2 more pairs of 23’s. Thank goodness they were still in stock!

I have worn wave riders for almost 10 years and loved them all until this pair. I have always worn a size 9 in wave riders and think I would need a 9.5 or even a 10 in these. And I have found them to be extremely uncomfortable and stiff. I usually don’t feel like shoes need to be broken in if they’re the right fit but thought maybe I’d have to try with these. I have worn them on a handful of runs and my feet are SO sore at the end. Unfortunately I will be returning these.

Runs short. Returned but Mizuno would not pay for shipping to ship them back. Spent $14 to ship back. Would never have ordered if free shipping only meant free shipping one way!
