These are my first actual hiking footwear so I don't know how to compare. I read lots of reviews on lots of different choices. I knew I wanted something with good traction, lightweight and comfy. These are really great. I went on a 5 hr moderate level hike with no issues. When I took them out of the box they did feel a tad tight especially in the front as it is narrow. I am usually a 5 or 5.5 but based on the reviews I went up a size to 6 and glad I did. If you want to wear with a thick sock go up 1-2 sizes. I have very narrow bony feet and ankles and it was snug I prob got have even gone up to a 6.5. With wearing they do loosen up a tad. I was very worried about blisters since I am not an experienced hiker I wore some darn tough brand socks and put that roll on blister balm on. I had no issues no blisters and my feet didn't hurt at all. Traction was good given all the wet leaves and some up hill rocks with moss. Stepped on a dead snake by accident and didn't fall or anything. If you are a serious hiker with longer trails I'm not sure if these are intense enough lol. I really like these and they are stylish and not too clunky which is a plus. I took off a star for the sizing issues and I'm not sure about the quality for the price. I got these with my healthcare worker discount so it was a good deal not sure I would pay full price. Not sure you could outrun a bear either.

These hiking boots are amazingly lightweight and insanely cushy and foamy. You literally feel a bounce with every step. The Vibram outsole is "sticky" and has great traction. The ankles are well-cushioned and supportive. I have narrow, thin feet and these hug my feet comfortably, so they probably won't work for wide feet. I have small arches so I prefer shoes with no arch support. These work well for me. The silhouette looks great and slimming in comparison to more traditional hiking boots. The reason I can't give them 5 stars: the sizing is WAY off. I'm a 6.5 and always buy 7 in boots and sneakers. The 7 were so tight my toes were smashed. I even checked the labels to make sure I was sent the correct size. I'm going to try a whole size larger and hope for the best because they really are the most comfortable hiking shoes I've ever tried.

I am a solid 8.5 in ALL shoes, rarely an 8 in Steve Madden shoes. When I pulled these out of the box I actually thought they were kids shoes. I am going to re-order because I like the look but they are SO small - and I was just wearing regular socks.

These boots were very cute but not the quality I expected. I set them on a flat surface and one of the shoes wobbled (so probably a defect in the shoe). Were very lightweight though and comfortable around my feet when trying them on. I returned them though so idk how they do on the trails.

These were comfortable, but I didn't feel like I had the support that I would need for long hikes.

Returned these, ran way too small. I'm almost always a 9.5-10, I ordered a 10 and my toes were crammed at the front, I'd have to order at least 2 sizes up to get them to fit but didn't want that guessing game. Otherwise they were great quality, nice and cushioned, just order way up a size - or two.

Wasn't able to use, returned it after trying on. The size up was out of stock. I have 8 shoes from Northface, and this is the only one that is too small. Too bad they can't be consistent in the sizing. This shoe is very uncomfortable in the toe box, it is too low - putting pressure on my toes from the top (in addition to the length being too short).

Overall, I really like the shoe. They are lightweight and appear to be sealed together well. But they are NOT WATERPROOF. The advertisement that they are waterproof is a incorrect. My feet were went within minutes of walking in wet grass. For the price, I would expect these shoes to be fully waterproof.

I purchased these shoes for hiking and using regularly during the week around my family’s farm. I like sleeker, minimalist looking shoes, so I was stoked about finding a pair of mostly-all black shoes for hiking. Having some knee and hips issues, these shoes, even when I tried them with a special insole, didn’t feel any more comfortable than your most average sneaker. These North Face shoes are light weight, which I loved, but they just feel like a typical pair of high top sneakers with slightly more grip on the soles. Which, isn’t a bad concept, but I was hoping for a hiking shoe that was made to last. I wouldn’t trust these to hold up very long, and I feel the price is too high for what is essentially a sneaker that is lesser quality than some on the market.

Laces are really bad designs, if you don't double knot they don't last more than 10 minutes. Why doesn't North Face make flat laces?

I wanted to love them, but I ended up returning these shoes because I felt like there was too much pressure on my toes. I wish the toe area was more roomy because these would have been comfortable otherwise.

I like the qualities of these shoes, the future light material, the ankle support, I bought a full size up because I was worried they would run small, and they did, I wore them around the house and initially they felt good, I took the tag off and went on a short hike outdoors and can feel my pinkies rubbing. I wish these shoes had all the same qualities but a wider toe box like Altras. I am going to try to return, but not sure if north face will let me since I wore outside.

My wife bought the boots for a trip but when she received the boot, she was disappointed with the product: heavy, color and model didn't match with the pictures. I have several things from Northface but this was the first time that it didn't work
