I haven't gone hiking in these yet but they seem lightweight and sturdy. I ordered my normal size after much debate based on other reviews and they fit perfect.

Used on my first hiking trip. Good ankle support, comfort, nice tread. Just make sure you double knot the laces.

These feel exactly like hiking in sneakers, only with better tread and ankle support. The sole has sneaker-like flexibility, which works for my way of moving (I get sore in stiffer boots). Thus far, I've taken them on 3 13-mile-ish hikes in the Colorado Rockies, and many smaller ones. They've held up well, but time will tell with more use. They are extremely breathable and cool given that they're water-proof, but don't expect them to be as cool as sneakers. They've been stable on rocky terrain. I went through at least 4 other boots (not counting all the ones I tried on) before I found these. I'm very impressed and planning to order a second pair to keep in storage for when these wear out! I haven't tested if they're really water-proof as it's a drought here, but they do a good job keeping the sand out! Bottom line: if you want a study hiking boot, look elsewhere. If you're looking for something the wears like a sneaker with a little more support, then these are for you!

These are really great shoes! Surprisingly lightweight and comfortable, but the ankle support is really there. I hesitantly sized up a half size as the other reviews recommend (because I ALWAYS wear an 8.5) but I'm happy I did.

I wore these straight out of the box for 8 hours and never felt any rubbing. Very comfortable, light weight. I would advise to size a half size up. breathable, and super grip tread. Love these

This is the sixth pair of North Face boots I've owned, and once again, the quality is on par. Waterproof, great cushioning, excellent protection overall. I bought the LEMON DROP YELLOW / AZURE BLUE color scheme, and love it. It's exactly as pictured, which makes me wonder why they call it lemon drop yellow, since the only yellow is the Vibram logo on the bottom. Not complaining, just wondering. The boots look great. The only criticism I have is that, like others have already written, these boots are just a bit smaller than normal. You'll probably want to buy up half a size to ensure comfort. I'm keeping mine because I can still wear them, as long as I'm wearing thinner socks they're generally fine. Sometimes on the outer edge of my right foot, near my pinky toe, there can be a friction/rubbing sensation with prolonged wear. As I'm used to wearing boots all day long, that's not ideal. These are definitely going to be reserved for more casual/daily wear just because they're a bit on the small side, and I can't wear thicker socks to counteract that.

Absolutely love these. Very comfortable, short break in time. Literally wore them around the house for a bit and they felt just like breaking in a tennis shoe. My only negative feedback is that I ordered a half size larger than my regular Nike tennis shoe size 7. I tried them and they were snug but I needed more toe room so had to get an eight. Other than that I love them!

These are some of the lightest shoes I've ever put on. I do recommend gong 1/2 size up. I am typically a size 7 in every shoe from Converse to Nike, but based off of other reviews I went with a 1/2 size larger and the 7.5 fits perfectly. I have not yet tested the waterproof ability of the shoes but the grip on the bottom and the security of the foot bed and the ankle support are phenomenal.

Needed a basic hiking boot for some easy/basic woodsy trails- love that these are waterproof and super light weight. Very comfortable. If you want a thicker wool sock, order a half size up from your normal shoe with sock size.

Things to know- I am 5 foot 2, 160 ish pounds and a casual hiker whenever I get the chance. I bought these boots to replace a pair of boots from a different band that I had owned for nearly 7 years and to prepare for an upcoming backpacking/ hiking trip in Ireland. I have done extensive damage and had extensive repairs in my left/ankle over the years and now have an impressive amount of hardware, very little sensation/proprioception in my left foot/ankle, so good supportive boots are very important to me. I also struggle to find boots or shoes in general that fit both feet comfortably, as my feet are no longer shaped the same. Support/ Comfort/ Sizing/ waterproof/ durability I originally bought these in a size 7 1/2- this is my normal running shoe size. Right out of the box they actually felt pretty good but after wearing them around I began to worry that they would be to tight or small if my feet were to swell. I also began to notice that they were rubbing against a metal plate I have on the top of my foot. So, I ordered 8's which fixed all of this and allowed room for my brace. I have since put around 20 miles on them and have felt totally supported and comfortable the whole time, with no soreness during a break in period. The grip in these is amazing. I have hiked over wet boulders and sand stone and never slipped. As for the waterproofness idk. Unfortunately during the one opportunity I've had to test it out they became completely submerged pretty early on and it was difficult to judge after that, but they seemed to be doing well prior to becoming submerged. As for durability its too soon to say, but these dried out and cleaned up nicely to the point that they looked like I hadn't just been knee deep in some quick sand like mud so I'm hopeful. Overall I think these are a good purchase and will be worth ever cent

The boots arrived about ten days ago, looking sturdy and inviting. I have worn them five times already, hiking in nearby hills on average of 4-5 miles each time. They are very light, as advertised, and comfy, with great traction on both rocky paths and slushy patches. There was really no need for breaking in--I put them on and hiked for 4 miles the first day, at the end of which there was a slight discomfort on my left ankle but it was really nothing. I am very pleased with the purchase, since finding a pair of shoes was not easy for me and finding a pair of boots was even harder. But this pair has proven to be just perfect. One more note: I went a full size up (from 10 to 11) due to the need for insoles and there is no problem: my feet feel completely at home inside these boots that breath very well while keeping my feet warm in cold weather. The toe box is particularly well-designed because I didn't feel any tightness or discomfort either climbing up and going down heel. And even though I chose a bigger size, they still look slim and attractive on my feet. I have nothing but praises for these boots. Thank you, Northface!

Comfortable and surprisingly lightweight. I read other reviews that recommended buying these a half size up from what you normally wear, definitely do this! I'm glad I did.

I like the hikers but read other reviews and it was suggested to go one size up. Could have stayed with my regular size.

These are lovely, good quality lightweight boots, but they're much too narrow in the toe area, so I had to regretfully return them.

High quality boot. I haven't owned many boots in recent memory to compare to, however, these are pretty great. I recently wore these during a snow storm for walking and shoveling out my cars. Kept my feet dry and warm and the grip was pretty good. My main complaint is that there isn't a lot of flexibility in the shoe, though they are still pretty new. The shoes seem sturdy and should hold up well for many winter storms to come.

I love these boots for warmer weather hiking and outdoor activities in the rain. Only complaint is that they run small.

I really like these for hiking, light and comfortable. They are not insulated so you need very thick socks for wearing with them in winter. I have found that aren't completely waterproof but keep most of the water out.

Hi, I love these boots. I finish a hike and am not dying to take them off. However, they do not feel truly waterproof. I will need a better pair for winter. This is more of a spring, summer boot in the PNW.

Waterproof! Great grip and traction on trails, especially when it's raining. Also great ankle stability although sometimes the tongue irritates the front of my ankle.
