It's not comfortable at all. The heel keeps getting out.

They smell awful! I received them 6 or 8 weeks ago and still haven't worn them because I am waiting for the smell to air out. I love the way Merrells fit but the synthetic something in this style literally stinks.

An edit to my prior review. I put the shoes outside for a couple of weeks. Admittedly, that was probably too long, but the smell is AWFUL so I was hoping to air out my shoes, but they developed another problem: the trim around the shoe opening has dried up like a grape turns onto a raisin. It's dry and brittle. I looked at my old Breezes and it's a little brittle, but I've had them 10+ years and they still don't look or smell as bad as these. It's unfortunate because they are super-comfortable, but I'm so sensitive to odors I don't think they'll be around long. I'd rather wear the old ones. Caveat emptor!!

No arch support, returned for refund. Disappointed didn't think merely would make any shoes without support.

Size was too small. Not true to size. Disappointed because I've been wearing these shoes for years, but the sizing must have changed with the newer version.

I came here fully expecting to order a pair of these because they look like amazing shoes! I was so excited with the range of colors and a sole that actually has some tread on them.....only to find the colors are only for the medium width. What a waste of my time. Im so tired of trying to find shoes that accommodate wide or fat feet that are actually tough and work minded. Im a farmer and my wide feet work just as hard as the rest of me and I would like some color, not neutral afterthoughts. Thanks for the tease.

I was JUST about to buy this shoe UNTIL I read the reviews from so many longtime customers that are displeased with the current model. I am so interested in purchasing this shoe whenever it returns to the original. LESSON: Don't Fix What Isn't Broken

These were a gift- I have an old pair that fit snug to my foot with a firmer footbed, but these are not the same shoe. Worst of all? THEY STINK. Not just out-of-box stink, but they smell like they were made with strange materials that I don't want on my feet. The sizing wouldn't bother me if the shoes smelled better. I will wash them- maybe that will help- but you only get a 1 cause they are Merrell's, which are notoriously good shoes.

I have purchased the Breeze for about 8 years. This version is disappointing. It's upper is no longer quality fabric. Now it feels and sounds like cardboard or plastic. The fit was great at first. After 2 weeks, the shoe is flapping like a flip-flop when I walk. I think the upper is too loose to hold the shoe stability after wearing for 8 dsys to work. These were my go-to shoes. Not anymore.

The material doesn't match the Merrill QUALITY I had in my original pair

Smells. Bad fit. Foot cane out of the shoe. The back is not high enough. It is not a slip on.

I have worn and loved Encore Breeze shoes for years but this new Encore Breeze 4 is different. The top of the shoe in the back above the heel has been changed. The fabric from the shoe used to continue around to the back with the leather trim above. Now it is all leather trim. When I tried walking in these, they actually slipped up and down and made a noise with every step. I was so disappointed and returned them.

I have been wearing Merrells like this for years. This encore breeze is very disappointing. The shoe is at least one half inch lower in the back than my current pair. This causes the shoe not to fit properly in the back. The heel goes up and down rather than hugging my heel as my older pair do. If you are expecting the same shoe you've depended on in the past...don't buy this shoe.

Obviously the shoe has been redesigned....lower heal, cheap mesh on inside and around the foot, one shoe felt extremely crooked, uncomfortable, clunky, not the GREAT SHOE it has been. I am at a loss because I wore this shoe in every color, every day forever. I just donated my older pairs, slightly stretched out, waited for the two new replacement pairs - black & blue, and I only have one pair left. The new pairs were so POOR, I had to send them back. Where in the world were these made. This is not your trusted brand. Something went terribly wrong with your product. Shame!

The most recent 2 pairs I purchased are medium width as were the previous purchase.. Comparing to the older ones, they are much narrower. I cannot wear these. I must order wides from now on in this style. Prior to this change, these were my all time favorite everyday shoes.

Shipment arrived on time, I opened the box and tried 'em on for a test walk around the house. It sounded like I was walking on crickets! Continuous creak-squeak creak-squeak from both shoes. I have hardwood and tile floors, so maybe that was the problem. The shoe was comfortable, and I could wear a lightweight sock on my size 9 feet, no problem. A heavy-weight sock would not have fit. Sleek profile and navy color were both very nice. however, I boxed 'em back up and they are getting returned to Merrell. Too bad.
