Been wearing these for years but the pair I just received is made with a material that makes my feet hot and itchy. The size of off as well . Too large. The support is missing and flexibility gone.

I am elderly. Thought they would fit nice but there really isn't a heel to speak of. I tried them on and was uncomfortable with the heel being like it is. Returned them.

Unlike the Encore Breeze 3, my feet wouldn't stay in these shoes because the back that holds the heel in place is shorter than the old design. Walked out of the shoes with every step and had to return them. Hoping they'll bring back the old design in the next iteration,

The arch is just in the wrong place - its too far back so the arch hits my heal. I will have to give these shoes away. Otherwise they appear to be nice shoes.

Okay but not as well made as in the past. Shoes were smaller than the last pair of the same size.

It would have 5 stars if it were sized correctly. I ordered a 7.5. The shoe says: Size 7.0 - 8.0. Therefore, for me, it is too big. There was no indication on the website that the shoe wasn't sized exactly. If I had known it was a 7-8 rather than a 7.5, I wouldn't have purchased it. I can wear it at home but not for walking as I intended.

I just received my new pair of Encore Breeze 4. I have had this shoe brand for years and loved them. It has been at least ten years since I have bought a new pair. Just putting them on I was astounded at the difference in manufacturing. First the outer materials are different, the foot bed is uncomfortable, they width of the inside of shoe is made wider, the heel bed is sloppy and slips when I walk. I am so disappointed in the quality of this shoe and I really needed it for walking on concrete flooring. It is too bad that the design and materials have now changed for a shoe that had been sooo outstandingly wonderful to me. Sincerely, Vija

Why has Merrell changed the shape? Cut corners/costs in manufacturing? I have worn this style of shoe almost daily for more than a decade. This pair does not fit me the way others have, so I compared it it an older pair, and sure enough, they have cut the footbed down, especially on the outside toe line. My toes are now crammed in and uncomfortable. Also the arc across the middle of my foot is too tight. And the mesh material is changed a bit so it doesn't breathe anywhere near as nicely as it used to. Why oh why have you changed what was a PERFECT 5 star shoe?

I have many friends who wear a wide width for one reason or another. I have a bunion and need the extra space. My complaint: there are no pretty colors in wide. Just Black, tan and white.

I would have given the Encore Breeze 4 a 4 star. However, they emit a chemical odor. I also have to use orthotics insoles. Replacing the original insole with mine caused a "sqeaking" noise with every step. Between the chemical odor and the sqeaky noise I was very frustrated. They are comfortable and I like the color. I tried different things to stop the squeak and odor. Finally finding by adding a nylon knee high stocking over the insole stopped the squeak and contained the odor.

Not sure what you have done to the shoes. I have worn these for at least 10 years because they helped my hurting feet. Now they make my feet hurt. Less cushioning? Feels like I can feel every design imprint on shoe sole and makes my feet hurt now. Trying to find a shoe insert to help. Sadly I guess will be looking for a brand that doesn't make my feet.

I've owned Merrill's for over 10 years. The quality is not the same. I still own pairs from 10 years ago, that's how high quality they were. The recent Merrel's I purchased and returned are less quality and feel like plastic. I literally have 6 pairs of the old Merrill's in my closet that I wear daily. I can wash them and dry them and they are like new. I walk on trails with my dog, go through mud and snow, ice and rain. I would pay twice the amount for a pair of the high quality Merrill's I used to buy.
