These Siren Edge shoes look great, and for a hiking shoe they are very lightweight, sleek but also sturdy. I can’t say anything about the waterproofing because sadly I am returning them. I have bunions on both feet and even in the wide fitting the toe box is not wide enough. I wish they came in extra wide. If you have a slightly wide foot these would probably be a good fit.

This is my 4th pair of Siren Edge shoes. The first two pairs were comfortable right out of the box. The 3rd pair felt short but I thought it was my imagination as I had bought them a half size larger because the reviews said they were running small. When I realized they were actually too small, I had already done a lot of hiking in them. I figured it was too late to return them and just started wearing thinner and thinner socks and using them on sorter and shorter hikes. This years pair is a 10 1/2 which is a half size larger than last year and they still feel too tight! I am returning them for a wide even though for most of my life I have worn a narrow. My favorite thing about my first two pairs was that they were comfortable right out of the box and needed no beak in period. I still have both of those original pairs and wear them for muddy work outside. I am still a loyal customer but can't believe I am going up a size and width to get these to feel comfortable this year.

Cute shoes but too wide for my feet, especially in the heel.

Very cute shoe. Has proven itself to be waterproof on my rainy Oregon walks through shallow water puddles. Now the bad parts. Little to none arch support! This shocked me considering the price. Merrill is cutting cost corners and I am very disappointed in the company! The reasons I am keeping these shoes is I have a good pair of orthotics that the shoe accepted and I am desperately seeking dry feet! The only reason I gave three stars for comfort is because of my orthotics.I prefer not to wear my orthotics in a hiking shoe because they tend to make my feet sweaty. Unless you have a good pair of orthotics I would pass on this shoe for sure! You will feel ripped off (considering price) as the comfort level will be very low without orthotics. They are also extremely stiff but I am hoping they will soften up with extended walking/hiking.

I wore these for the first time a couple of days ago in steady, not torrential rain, on city streets - not sloshing through puddles. After a couple of hours both feet were wet. Very disappointing. Fit is great.

I liked everything about them except the toe box. It was not deep enough for my bunion.

Pros: These wide shoes are true to sizing in my experience. Very comfortable and well-balanced. Stayed waterproof through a wet Pacific Northwest fall and winter when hiking, city walking, and doing yardwork. Cons: Found that on some surfaces, the tread slips when the shoes are new, like on slanted, wet sidewalks. Now this spring, walking across unmowed lawns water leaks through enough to soak areas of my socks. The water comes in along the edges where the sole meets the fabric. (Another reviewer also mentioned the loss of the waterproofing feature.) Still like these shoes enough to wear them during fair weather, but couldn't recommend them. The fabric uppers are in fair-good shape still. Hard to find durable and waterproof hikers that are not made of leather/suede. The waterproofing was good while it lasted--about half a year.

For anyone with a Neuroma, note the toe box is too small - even in the wide width. I only lasted about a mile before I had to turn around and take them off for return.

Fit true to size and are comfortable. Pretty lightweight compared to similar style shoes. I have very high arches, and had to put in an insert. They worked great to dash out or walk with dogs even during wet/wintry conditions in the city. I wore them hiking in early spring and found out quickly that they were NOT waterproof along the seem where the fabric joins the sole. When walking on uneven terrain, the sides of my feet sometimes pressed against the ground/rocks/slush and icy, muddy water gushed into my shoes and soaked my feet.

I have purchased many shoes from you company all in medium width. I decided to order these shoes in a wide width for thicker socks. These shoes in wide are exactly the same width as my other medium width shoes from Merrell. I was excited to see Merrell carrying wide widths in woman's shoes but these are disappointing. Three stars for comfort and quality but took two stars off for deceptive advertising. I don't recommend these shoes for anyone needing a wide width as they are true medium width.

I purchased the 7.5 which I normally wear in running and hiking shoes. The problem for me is the feeling of pronation. It made me feel like my feet tilt inward.

They seem like they will be very good for hiking in rough terrain bc the shoe doesn't flex a lot and the bottom feels hard, so it should protect your feet. I am returning because I bought them for jogging to keep my feet dry. They definitely wont work for that, not enough cushion and flexibility of the shoe.

These don't have the same shape as my last pair of Merrell sneakers. They are tight in the bridge. hoping they loosen up over time so I can play disc golf and keep my feet dry.

I bought these a few months ago and wanted to give them some time to break in. It's tough for me to find shoes that I like that aren't Nike! I wear Nike running shoes as my daily footwear but needed something sturdier and waterproof for walking/hiking with my dogs. I've had no problems with my feet getting wet but that was in damp grass. Not sure how well they would do when it's really wet. These are a bit more ridgid than my normal shoes which is good. The sizing is good except they are a little wide but my feet are also thin. Haven't been able to find a pair of socks that keep my feet from sliding around. If the socks are too thick my feet get really hot (only when it's hot out).I try to tie them tighter which helps but then my feet end up getting tingly. I would get a smaller size but my big toe is touching the front. Since I'm used to running shoes I knew it would take time to adjust to the tread depth but I'm still not used to it. I still trip a little but I also have a tendency to not pick my feet up 100%. I find they don't always have the best traction either and it's easy to slip on certain things. I've slipped on wet logs/trees while stepping on/over them and leaves but it can happen since they're wet. I don't always slip so I'm a little weary walking on slippery surfaces. I don't know if I really see a difference in traction between these and my running shoes. Sometimes I feel like the treads are too firm and don't give when you're stepping on something which causes you to slip. They do become a little loose while I'm walking which may cause some of these problems. They start to become loose if I'm walking on really unlevel ground like walking over large rocks mostly but I do have to stop to re-tie them a lot to make them more comfortable. Now this review is coming from a person who is very particular about shoes since I have problems with neuropathy in my feet. I've destroyed so many pairs of shoes walking my dogs since the terrain is flat, rocky, climbing over tree's in the woods etc. I needed something sturdy and these are and really love that my feet don't get wet. I do like these shoes and still wear them but wish I could find a way to make them more comfortable. I hate to say negative things and make people think they aren't good shoes because they are, just not 100% for me.

It fit fine but too stiff for my sensitive right foot that I had surgery on. Prefer the non-waterproof one for comfort.

Merrells are my "go to" brand for hiking shoes and boots, but the Siren Edge 3 Waterproof doesn't fit well. The toe box feels narrow and the heel is too wide for me, causing them to slip and rub in the back while feeling too tight in the toes. I will return them.

This was a disappointment. It was not waterproof at all. On the flipside, it was also not breathable and my feet would get sweaty in it. So it's the worst of both worlds. It would have been comfortable otherwise.

Really disappointed that these hiking shoes have started leaking. After only about 3 miles, the soles of my socks are completely soaked. Maybe a flaw with this pair. But disappointing.

Shoes are heavy, insoles are super thin so the walking isn't comfortable. I don't know if it is just me but the seams on the inside that hold the tongue are big and rough.
