These shoes fit so well over big toe joints that are very tender from arthritis. However for long walks there is not enough cushioning and I dont use them for my 2 mile daily walks.

The fit was true to size. My feet are narrow, so it didn't bother me. I'm used to the low profile Merrell vibram so it is taking me a while to get use to them. Overall, it is not a bad sneaker.

I haven't used them yet but my other pair have been great. Just don't use them on ice.

I purchased from the Merrell website the Siren Edge 3 waterproof in Rock/Bluestone women's 8.5 wide. Delivery was prompt. I love the color, pattern, quality and general look of the shoe. The size is true to the sneakers I wear. They've been worn in a few inches of snow and remained dry inside. The soles look like a good pair of hikers but the shoe does not look clunky. My only reason for not giving a fifth star is comfort. I expected the glove-like fit and support of a good trainer but they will require an cushion insert after breaking in.

I like the looks of this shoe but the footbed is weird. I wear a 6.5 or 7. My foot is slightly wide but most shoes fit if I go up a 1/2 size. This one I felt like the middle outside of my foot was not sitting well on the footbed. I think its just a weird design. I returned to try a different model all together.

This shoe has great support. I had to play with the laces a bit to get it to the best fit, but one done it is quite comfortable. Would be great if the waterproof version was also offered in this color in wide width and then I would have given 5 stars.

I wear this as a house shoe in the winter and then change to wear it outside when the warmer temps arrive . I also have an additional insert in this product to give my feet more support as I age

Waterproofing is excellent. Sturdy and great on all terrains for hikes. Arch support is weak and could use more cushioning for longer hikes

These are Merrells so the brand speaks for itself. I've owned several Merrell shoes over the years and most was regular width. I ordered the wide width on this shoe because feet swell with a lot of walking, but I cannot discern a difference between the regular or wide width. This is a well made, good looking, comfortable shoe but loses a star due to the width. Disappointed I won't be able to wear a thick sock with them. They may stretch with time and useI shall see.

Wore these nearly every day on a 2 week trip to Alaska. The waterproof-ness was fantastic and they didn't feel heavy on hikes or glacier tours. The were comfortable enough, but they were a little snug. A half size up (if offered) would have given me a little extra toe room.

Pro: Very comfortable.
Con: The grey paint scruffs off when tip of shoe scrapes against a stone or something. Brand new shoes looking a little shabby.

I usually need to go a half size up in Merrell shoes for proper fit, but this time my usual 7.5 length fit well but only in the wide width ( I usually don't need a wide width, although my feet certainly like room to spread out). I like that this is a lighter weight hiking shoe than other Merrell low hiker options, but sturdier than some trail runners I tried for moderate day hikes. I wear ankle high Keene or Salomon hiking boots for longer day hikes, rough terrain or backpacking, but expect these will be a fine option for less aggressive day hikes.

They're comfortable, but hot if you live in an arid climate like I do in Arizona. They'll be great for cool weather. I think it's because they're waterproof, even though they breathe.

So, I bought these looking for a more "tennis shoe" type of hiker. I wear them for work everyday, but work at an aquarium and need the waterproof feature. Love the color, love the fit(I have narrower feet), lightweight, so far so good keeping my feet dry! I'd of given 5 star if they had better arch support. Had to swap out for my favorite supporting inserts.

I thought I would wear the same size as usual but these ran small.
Also, even though I wanted waterproof, they have a kind of crispy sound when I tried them on. Not 100% sure about these.

Nice shoe, but fits different than my first paid of Merrells. They have a different tilt in the heel. The outside is somewhat stiff and wrinkles, I think due to the waterproofing. Still a good shoe.

My fourth pair of these. I am a frequent hiker/walker and these shoes are perfect right out of the box. I size up 1/2 size for plenty of room for thick socks. They are a bit stiffer than a regular tennis shoe and I prefer the rigid support for walking over rocks and gravel. The grip tread is great.

True to size and width. This is a firm shoe with support which is good for me since I'm on my feet all day. I'm not crazy about the toe guard design. Wish it was a solid color. Merrell's are reliable!

I ordered 9 1/2 M. Shoe seemed a little narrow at ball of foot. They didn’t hurt or pinch my foot, just felt very snug. I walked around inside my house trying to determine if they felt too snug, & couldn’t tell. I ordered & received 9 1/2 W. Although it felt roomier across ball of foot, the heel was noticeably loose, slipping as I walked. Plus the side of the heel hit my ankle bone & I could tell that would be a problem.
In the end I decided neither worked for me. Disappointing because the shoe is good looking & I really liked the stiff sole.

These felt true to size. I normally take a 10 in athletic shoes and these fit well. I have a moderately narrow foot and do put in my own insoles which probably take up a bit more space than the factory insoles. They are very firm soled and the material is more stiff than my non-waterproof Merrells as I expected. Overall they feel supportive. As with my non-waterproof Merrell Siren Edge shoes the laces do not stay tied without double knotting. Kind of annoying but not a deal breaker for me.

Love the Siren Edge, but found this pair to be a bit short at the toe. It still fits, but strangely doesn't have as much length at the toe as previous pairs.

I loved these! They look great and would have fit my needs exactly *if* they had fit me. Sadly, they did not. Too narrow in the toe box and too loose around the heel. I almost kept because I liked them so much, but the last thing I need is another pair of shoes that aren’t quite comfortable. Was bummed to send them back.

I liked the look of these shoes and they fit well except for the toe box. There was not enough room for my bunion and so I had to return them. I love Merrell shoes and generally they fit well.

I normally wear a 9M in most shoes, a 9W in others. I ordered these in 9M and 9.5M (because the color I wanted did not come in wide). The color in the pictures is spot and and true to color. These are very good looking trail shoes. The 9M was a half size small all around - too short, too tight. The 9.5M was so close to perfect. The length was right and the toe box around the big toe was great, BUT the shoe is extremely tight at the pinky toe. It's very strange to have such room and comfort at the big toe and joints, but so tight at little toe. Sadly, am returning.

At first these shoes were very comfortable, but after wearing them around the house for a half hour it was clear they wouldn’t work for me. The top of the heel rubbed against a bone in my ankle. Not sure if I’m explaining it right, but it turned red from the rubbing. I have a pair of Merrell hiking boots that are great, but the heel on these hiking shoes come up too high.
