They feel great. The larger toe box is wonderful, no sore toes.

After a triple ankle break my shoe needs were transformed. I tried no less than 8 types of shoes recommended to me by specialists, therapists or online reviewers. Some were intended to catapult my stride or do one thing or another, but these shoes really fit the bill. The zero drop does not impose any structure on the foot but simply provides a bed of marshmallows to walk on.They are super comfortable! In my bare feet my step is a bit tenuous but in these shoes I can walk like I used to before my injury! I constantly hear my self thinking how happy I am that I found these shoes! I always ask myself why sports shoes are always such glaring ugly colors or clown like, but Altra must have asked that question also! The plum shoes are a beautiful color and go with everything. I hope that Altra keeps making this wonderful shoe! The shoelaces were strangely way too long but nothing that a pair of scissors couldn't solve! Thank you Altra! You have made especially, one left foot very happy!

Love these shoes! I have foot issues because of past broken bones and I have a wide foot. Finding shoes that make my small wide foot happy is next to impossible but these shoes fit the bill!!! Worth every penny!!!

The best hiking shoe/trail runner I've ever put on my feet! Love them so much I sometimes wear them around town! Wish altra made this exact shoe in a road running shoe. The fit is beyond perfect! No break in time!

I used to endure hiking so that I could get views, solitude, and nature. I've lost every toenail at least 3 times, and tried everything from moleskin to tree sap to stop my nasty, painful blisters. This is my 5th pair of Altra Lone Peak trail runners. I have worn each pair for hundreds of miles and until they were falling apart. Ever since switching from boots and other trail shoes to the lone peaks, I now also enjoy the hike. I still kick a rock or forget to trim my toenails sometimes, but losing my toenails isn't normal to me anymore (thankfully) and I rarely get a blister even after 80 miles and rocky climbs. They keep improving, and I'm so glad they fixed the toe cap issue (they used to separate after the first 40 or so miles) and I love the new fabrics, they are a lot more durable. I just put my first miles on these after a busy Summer put an end to my last pair.

I love these shoes. I read all of the other reviews before my purchase. Yes the tongue moves a bit and that is a little annoying, but it doesn't rub on me. Some reviewers said the shoes gave them blisters, but I had no heat spots at all in these. They actually helped me get over blisters I had from another pair of shoes. I love the wide toe box and find these shoes extremely comfortable. I agree with other reviewers that the heal loop(s) are absolutely useless. I don't see any wear on the shoe after two months of regular trail use. While there might be a couple of small design fixes that could be made, I am really enjoying this pair of shoes.

This is probably the 5th pair of Altra's I have had. They always fit well and are very comfortable.

After ankle surgery, everything hurt and I tried so many shoes suggested by therapists. These shoes were not trying to springboard my foot or alter my step in any way. The zero drop was neutral and the sole was so soft and I could return to walking with no interference from the shoe other than it provided a very comfortable sole to walk on and my foot could progress on its own terms. It is as if I am barefoot on a soft world that adapts to my step! As my foot heals, I find it just such a fantastically comfortable soothing shoe! Love them! The toe box is wonderfully wide and no scrunching or discomfort! I am a walker not a runner and I love them for walking. I think these are my favorite shoes ever!

Got these for hiking shoes. Took these out for 4+ mile hike straight out of the box. My feet and ankles definitely felt tired, but the company warns you to adjust gradually to zero-drop shoes for a reason. Felt surprisingly cushiony/springy. Love the wide toe box. So comfy. Got some rubbing on the back of my right heel like someone else mentioned— I loosened up the laces, which put a stop to it. I also wore no-show socks, so I’ll wear a higher sock next time. That’s the only thing that stopped me from giving 5 stars. These shoes are cute, mostly comfy, and I love the details that make them ready-made for gaiters. I really hope the socks make a difference because I want to love these shoes.

Feels great, as soon as I put them on I felt comfortable, no need to wear them in. They perfectly fit my foot (I have wider feet). This is what a shoe should feel like!

If you have wide feetAnd bunions, these shoes are for you!! I have very wide, yet small feet and bunions so I struggle finding shoes that fit well and are comfortable. I usually have to break new shoes in for awhile and get blisters. The minute I put these on, they were so comfy!

I have been looking for the perfect hiking shoe that has a wide toe box and is comfortable out of the box. It’s supportive on the trail and my flat feet and bunions are pain free!

I really like these shoes, the gray and blue are exactly as pictured. I did order a half size up as some reviewers stated they ran small, but I wish I would’ve ordered my regular size 7 instead of the 7.5’s as they are exactly a half size too big for me! The toe box was roomier than other pairs of Altra shoes I have and they look somewhat clownish on my feet. I am keeping them as they still fit my feet well enough and I don’t feel like the hassle of returning them. I wore them for an entire day and they were very comfortable, but I don’t have any foot pain.

These are the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever worn. I bought the ankle high Altras for our trip to Ireland and they were sooooo comfortable and waterproof. We walked about 10 miles a day and they held up. These shoes are even MORE comfortable, (if that’s possible). I’m now a loyal brand fan.

Fit allows me to insert my orthotics. Wide toe box keeps my neuroma from flaring up.

I bought these a few months ago but just had a chance to take them out on the trails yesterday. I ran Nut Point Trail (La Ronge, SK), and the shoes were perfect. They were light enough to not tire my legs, had great grip on the wet granite, and had enough room for my toes so they didn't get squished. My heel is quite narrow and it was held well. Plus they dry out quickly enough to use again the next day.

I took these as my back up shoes for hiking on a 7 day horse pack trip to the Bob Marshall Wilderness in MT. They were perfect. I have terrible feet (broken multiple times and a bunion) these shoes were perfect on steep trails and as a much welcome change out for a day in cowboy boots. I am totally sold. I will return home to buy high top version and another pair of these. I have tried a billion kinds of shoes and these are the best.

I had to return these shoes twice to size up. (Thanks, Zappos, for your awesome customer service!) I normally wear a size 9, but went to a 9.5, then ultimately a 10. They fit great and just took them out for a 3 mile hike. They’re very comfortable. The zero drop made my calves a bit tired, but I’m sure I’ll get accustomed to that in no time. The extra room in the toe box is worth it!

Totally Superior walking and trail shoes. I do over 10000 steps per day and my feet dont ache at night as they did with other brand name shoes. The roomy toe box protects my bunions as well. Well made with quality materials.

I bought these shoes the day of starting a 4 day 3 night backpacking trip to the uintas. I bought 1/2 size larger than I normally do. These were so perfect for me. Super light and comfortable.

I fell in love with the Lone Peak 4.0 which was the first comfortable walking and trail shoe I had worn in decades. I didn't think it could be improved upon, but that's what happened with the 4.5. With slightly more arch and laces that stay put (no more double tying!) these are perfect.
