I love Altra. I own two pairs. The escalante and the Torin Plush. The escalante were great but I felt like I needed more cushion so I went for the Torin Plush. They have been nice shoes for the last six months except the laces are at least six inches too long. And I ordered a 9.5 in those and kept them even though I had a lot of room in the toe area. (Length and width) so when I went to order a new pair of Altra’s I ordered a size 9 thinking they would be perfect. They are at least a half size to a whole size too small. Plus the toe box seemed much more narrow. They did seem to fix the laces issue, but adjusting the sizing to this extreme caught me off guard. I should have ordered at least a 10. So I have returned and ordered a 10. Hoping they work and the toe box is wide enough.

My husband and I both have multie styles, makes.and models of the altra brand. We started trail running a couple of years ago, have tried all brands of trail shoes!! I bought the womens timp 1.5 last year and love it, he bought the timp 2 recently and had to send back and get bigger size..he says the cushion is perfect and now is a perfect fit..I had to order a mens size 10 instead of ladies 11 as they were way to small, I am now going to order a womens 12 to see if they fit better than the mens shoe!! I'm not sure yet if I like the shoe, I will wait to test the ladies 12

This is my first pair of Altra. Bought them because they supposedly have a wide toe box. Not so with this model. The toe box was at least as narrow as my current Adidas trail runners. They also run about very small. Had to get a full size smaller than my normal shoe size and this is trying on in the store in the morning. Returned and will try another Altra model.

These shoes feel so good....sadly, they do not have enough stability for me. I have a problem with pronation and that is the one problem this shoe does not address so I must return....highly recommend, though, if that is not your problem!!!!

I agree w/ others that this newest version just doesn't measure up to the 1.5. I was excited for this re-vamp as it promised longer durability, but w/ less room in the toe box and a less cushiony feel under foot it seems like a downgrade. For me, the reduction in cushioning is a BIG problem. In the 1.5 my foot would sink in a bit and felt padded. In the 2 the foot bed is firm with no give which leads to problems when hiking 10+ hour days on tough terrain. The more narrow cut of the 2 has caused blisters (both heal and toe) that the 1.5's never did, not to mention a substantial decrease in comfort due to improper toe splay. I've put about 300 miles on the 2's and they seem to be holding up about as well as the 1.5's, and I LOVE that the heel flap of the previous model was nixed. This is far from the worst shoe I've ever used and I will continue to use it until I find something better....but Altra, PLEASE go back to the Timp 1.5.

It's not the worst shoe and if I don't find a better option i guess i would have to buy it again, but I really do not understand why they narrowed this show so much. The 1.5's were great. They are the only shoes I have found that don't cause blisters no matter the distance I run. This new model does. Please bring back the 1.5 design. I love Altras and will likely try a new Altra trail shoe to see if I can replace my Timp 1.5's. This shoe is just not the one.

Disappointed! Loved the Timp 1.5, returned the 2.0. Stiff and it felt like walking on a board.

I've never tried any of the other Timps, so I can't really comment there. I still have yet to find a pair of trail shoes that I truly love. These were generally solidly okay. My biggest complaint was that at 250 miles, I looked down to find that I had holes in both sides of both feet (not sure when they happened, but by 250 they're definitely there). As in holes all the way through both the top and bottom layers. I've had this happen with Lone Peaks and other shoes, but typically not until at least 350 miles and usually not nearly this many holes.

I loved the Timps! Have purchased so many pairs of each model along the way. The 1.5s started going downhill, quality wise and the 2s are horrendous! The tread wears ridiculously fast and I slide all over wet surfaces in them because of it. So bummed. I can only imagine this is due to cutting quality to increase profit which is just cruddy. What gives, Altra?!

I discovered Altras a few years ago and they were the PERFECT athletic shoe for my super wide feet. I thought I would be loyal for life, but the changes to the TIMP2 are super disappointing. The shoe now feels much too narrow in the toe box, the exact reason I had loved this brand in the first place. I had read similar reviews prior to buying and thought this can't be true, but let me tell you, it is! If you were hoping for comfy shoes for a wider foot, DO NOT get the updated TIMP2

Sooooo wanted to love these shoes, especially since they come in that gorgeous plum color. :) The Timp 1.5's are awesome, but unfortunately the 2's just don't cut it for me. The biggest issue is that the toebox has been narrowed . . . to the point where my baby toes actually wore holes in the uppers, which has never happened to me before, with any running shoe (and I have narrow feet). Not a fan of the 'new and improved' outsoles, either. The shoes were pretty grippy initially, but the lugs wore down fairly quickly compared to the 1.5's and other trail shoes I've worn. I have been a huge fan of Altra shoes for years (my motto: 'Once you go flat, you won't go back') -- their zero drop, relatively wide toebox, and cushioning features truly have been a winning combination for me and have kept me running comfortably and injury-free over many miles. Really disappointed that they messed with the toebox part of the equation in the Timp 2 and hope this doesn't become a trend in 'upgrades' to their other models.

I loved the Timp 1.5!! Such a cushy ride! The toe box was roomy and perfect! They are my go to shoes without a doubt! So, ordered the Timp 2.0 this year. I am so disappointed. I seldom take the time to write reviews, but this time I felt I needed to. The 2.0 is not nearly as comfortable...they feel hard and not roomy enough in the toe box. I used them for a week, and have relegated them to the back of the closet. It's a lot of money...Altra is usually worth it...but not this time. Please bring back the Timp 1.5.

These felt like my daughters Supra shoes. Flat, hard foot bed. BUT they were nice looking. Great color combo.

I have had 2 pairs of the Timp 1.5 and loved them! Since that style has been discontinued I purchased the 2.0 thinking it would be a close match. Unfortunately these had to go back. Did not fit the same, not comfortable, left marks on the top of my foot after wearing for a few minutes. Ordered a different style. Hopefully those will work for my feet.

I hike and walk a lot - the average hike is 10 miles average walk is 5-8 miles. I broke through the toe pad on the 3.5 lone peak shoe after just 6 weeks....so disappointed!! These shoes came recommenced by the hiking community so I didn't do a lot of research...my fault. If you're looking for a shoe to wear to the office or around the house...these are for you.

2.0 feels smaller and more narrow than my 1.5s. I also prefer the cushion of the 1.5 over these. I might try sizing up. Maybe that will help. I really wanted these to work since I like the 2.0 colors. Disappointed.

I'm an 8.5 in the Time 1.5, Lone Peak RSM low, and Olympus 3.5. But the Time 2 is too small all around. Will update my review once I get a pair that fit :(

I have a lot of issues with my foot after breaking the 5th metatarsal almost 4 years ago. The Timp 1s were one of the only should I can wear so was thrilled to see the 2s but can't wear them as they are much narrower than the 1s. So surprised bc I thought that was one of the unique features of these made specifically for women's feet shoes. Really disappointed. Hope they go back to the Timp 1 structure next year!

I purchased these at REI, I've had 5 pairs of the 1.5 and because they no longer make them I had to buy the 2.0. They were not the same at all, the toe box was to narrow. I'm so sad not to be able to buy these. I will need to find another brand that has a wider tie box. I hope you bring back the 1.5 they were a life saver.
