Wear all day on the go and for workouts. Very comfortable. Have not done a long distance run yet but hopeful they will be great. My chronic hip pain has been significantly less since I started wearing them. Getting used to the shape as I find them to be a little weird looking :)

Wow!!! These were recommended on a trail running site I follow. I wore them straight out of the box on my 8 mile run, they felt amazing, comfortable, great traction and have since recommended to any and all who ask. Please come out with some more colors, the maroon are great but not feeling the others and would like to purchase another pair.

Altra shoes have changed my life! The wide toe box that allows my toes to spread out has significantly reduced strain in my legs and improved my balance. The shoe is kinda bulky, but who cares when it makes running and hiking longer distances a pleasure!

Based on the reviews I ordered a half size up and find that these fit perfectly! I absolutely love these shoes and I'm sorry to see them so harshly criticized. I ran over 500 miles in my first pair and am about 330 in my second pair. They have held up very well for me, I have never before ran over 500 miles in any shoe- typically I find mine worn down in 350 max. The fit, the durability and the cushion all all really great on these. If I had to make note of one "complaint" it would be that the soles are not very grippy. They work great for most of the trails around Prescott AZ, but for loose sandy dirt over slick rock they slide quite a bit. And of course, as the tread wears down that just gets worse. But other than that these have been the perfect shoe. I have suffered from Achilles Tendonosis and Plantar Fasciitis and these shoes made a huge impact in my recovery, I do wear them with an orthotic.

After teaching fir 39 Yrs, my feet are worn out! During retirement I looked forward to walking. These shoes have given me the support and comfort to walk daily, and my feet are ready for more.

I've been in the last few models of the Timps and these are by far my favorite. I thought at first they couldn't match the 1.5 but now with tons of miles in them I love them just as much. I *think* they are supposed to be more flexible, but they are still my go to when I need a stiffer shoe for when tendinitis in my foot flares up. Plenty durable too.

I run on trials an average of 25 miles a week. This shoe sticks to rocky, wet, icy, climbs and keeps my foot secure through uneven terrain. This shoe fits my foot perfectly! I love the width/toe box, the arch, and the heel! I have worn so many other shoes where my foot moves around as I run; this one is perfect. I have suffered shin splints at times and was worried about the zero drop/lower cushioning (compared to other shoes I have been wearing). I have worn the Lone Peak in the past and there was not enough cusion for me; however I have not had a problem at all with the Timp!

I don't know how it happened but I ended up ordering two of these but decided to keep them both because I really like them. I had another pair of altra that I had to add insoles for cushioning but these were comfy right out of the box and great toe box room so I don't have to worry about developing callouses.

I love these trail runners! Great support and wide enough toe-box I won’t lose toenails.

Based on reviews I sized up a half size from my usual 9 to a 9.5 and these are PERFECT! I never tried the prior versions of the Timp so I can't compare to those, but I have 460 miles on my first pair of the Timp 2 which are not yet retired and 118 miles on my second pair. I know I will get at least 500 miles and maybe more out of these shoes which is unprecedented for me. Having previously worn Hokas, I've never gotten more than 350m out of a shoe before and often only 250. I'm getting ready to order my third pair and personally I think they are nearly perfect. The only minor complaint I have is that lugs wear down fairly quickly, but that doesn't affect the performance of the shoe for me on most trails.

Love these shoes. I needed a wider toe box due to bunions and these are perfect. I use them for hiking and walking. I love the feel of the footbed and they are nice and flexible.

I'm new to Altra shoes and am a convert. I love this shoe! I really can't find any negative to say about it. I have fairly wide feet with narrow heels and I can hike in these all day.

I love this shoe. It's been a game changer for me. I like it more than my Escalante 2.5 for road and I use them on all types of trail runs. Fits great, feels great. I have a normal foot shape, a slightly wide last but it works well for Altras. The only thing I'd change about this shoe is that I wish it had a Stone/Rock Guard -- I hike very steep trails and jogging down on the rocks, the Timp sole is very soft and sharp rocks penetrates through easily. But maybe I am just pushing the limits of what this shoe is designed for. I just purchased the King MT 2 to see if it'd be better for those types of activities.

These shoes are amazing! I have bunions, and I can't wear even the most comfortable Asics model that I used to wear, even though the upper is very flexible. I had resigned myself to getting bunion surgery, but with physical therapy and correct taping techniques, the progression of my bunions has halted. These shoes allow me to tape my toes in a position that will not worsen the bunion progression. If only I had known about these before. I am afraid that running in narrow toe box shoes caused the progression to speed up - I never wore heels or other narrow shoes. I can walk for many miles in these shoes without bunion pain. It's amazing. I haven't experienced this in years. I tried the Lone Peaks, and they were great. I also tried the Dyanis, and I liked those. But these Timp 2's are the best yet. Thanks so much for making shoes that work for my weird feet!

I love these shoes, much more than the Timp 1.5. My feet don't slip as much in these and they are very steady when I am running out on the trail so I feel that I have more control. Thumbs up, Altra.

Bought size 8 for my 7.5 medium-wide feet, medium arches, low volume, slight bunions. LOVE LOVE LOVE this shoe for hiking, especially on rocky, dry, hard trail. Would buy again!

This is my all around go to shoe. I originally purchased TIMP 1.5's over a year ago - and they were great - but just not enough under my foot. A little to skimpy on the foot bed. I felt every rock on the trail. They've increase the cushion on the TIMP 2 and it's now my perfect shoe. I hike 8-10 miles 2x a week, and at least 3 miles the rest of the days. No complaints. They're so great that I've just ordered a second pair to wear around the house. (Foot issues so that I can't go bear foot for an extended period of time.) I agree with others - I normally wear a 7 to a 7.5 (my TIMP 1.5's were 7.5) but with the TIMP 2's I had to order an 8. Good luck in your decision.

I long distance hike and was very skeptical of trail running shoes. Some folks I respect kept ranting so I decided to try them out. Perfect. Won't go back (unless conditions call for mountaineering boots). I want to wear them all of the time. Helps my p. fasciitis and toe issues. No blisters or no banged up toenails, all love.

I put these on and would use these for everything. Though I hike mostly, they make me feeling like running. I have never put my feet into such a comfortable pair of shoes. I have a wider toebox, and these are perfect. I would like 10 pairs.

Love the new Timp 2 I wear Timp 1.5 all the time and love them and these are great too! I would recommend going a half size up as they run smaller than the 1.5's. Toe box was fine.

This is my favorite version of Altras. I own close to 10 different styles of Altras. I don't run. I have plantar fasciitis and am obese. I wear these for walking and to work. I'm going to but buy another pair soon!
