I have the navy, and they're cute and I have received compliments on them. They have a nice springy sole. However, they are not supportive enough for a run or workout. They have no reinforcement around the toe area for lateral movements, jumps, or other kinds of movements in a HIIT workout. So I only wear them as a casual shoe to run errands around town. But they are great for all day wear for just walking around or standing. But I don't even wear them on long walks with my dog. I wear my old Intuitions or Lone Peaks for long walks or hikes. Please bring back the Intuition!

I purchased for cross training but the footbed Is too wide and won’t give me the support needed. Very little arch support.

The size was a full size larger than I expected and the bridge was so narrow and tight. The style is great, however, I need comfort over style for my workouts. Need to return

I think these just aren’t right for my particular feet. I normally wear the Escalantes but they’ve changed the style a couple of times and I wanted to see what else there is, without turning to the super squishy shoes. Today I “test drove” them on a walk and I felt there was zero lateral stability. Afterward my feet and knees felt odd. So I’m trying a couple more styles under the Zappos 30-day trial. Love this option!

I bought these shoes to compare against the original solstice and unfortunately I found that these just didn't fit the same. The original solstice shoes hug my heels, are super light, and feel perfectly supportive - never have I found a better pair of runners. I love them so much I bought an extra pair on sale, and I'm gutted that they've been discontinued. While these updated version looks much cooler, it just doesn't fit the same unfortunately. However, the stitching does look mre robust on these pair. Looks like they might last longer than the original.

This are tighter then my other pair of Altra's especially in the toe box. I wouldn't say it is a whole size or even half size smaller but definitely tighter. And what is up with the short shoe laces. You have to loosen them to get them on at all and then there is barely enough to tie. I will get others when the world goes back to normal after the virus.

So while I love my Altra superior 4's, I was looking for something I could wear mostly to the gym as trainers...this shoe was incredibly tight on the top and sides of the foot below the toe box. Even when I loosened the laces it was still really tight. I wear an 8 in superiors but these felt very small through the body of the foot. The toe box is fine (nice and wide), but also there is less protective material on the top of the shoe as well. If you have a genuinely small foot these might work, but I'll just reorder another pair of superiors for the gym. I've tried another pair of Altra's suggested for gym wear and found they are also very tight at the top of the foot for some reason. My superiors aren't tight at all and fit true to size, gonna stick with those until Altra fixes the sizing issue with their other shoes.

I really wanted to like this show, as I'm in need of a training shoe like it. However, as with other new Altra models I've been trying the volume and width in the forefoot area is too low, narrow and constricting. I wouldn't even say I have wide feet, just sensitive feet that prefer more room to spread, etc. Others may not experience this issue in the shoe as I did, as I said my feet tend to be pretty sensitive. Often times in Altra shoes I take out the insole to provide more volume but that didn't resolve the issue with these.

I buy Altras because my toes are long and wide. The rest of my foot is narrower -- not narrow, but definitely not wide. I've been buying size 8 in athletic shoes for years, including other Altras. These felt longer and the heel cup was too wide. My heels were coming out of the shoe on the rowing machine. On the elliptical they were better, but still not a secure fit. I imagine that it would be a problem for runners (I quit running recently). Returning and going to try the regular Solstice.

I love a lot about this shoe -- it feels great in the gym, fits well, and I can use it for short runs in addition to a lifting workout. It took a few weeks for the shoe to stretch to my foot, but it fit perfectly once it did. The tongue does do this weird thing where it always falls off-center and bunches up a bit, which is kind of annoying, but not a deal breaker. My big issue is that I've had this shoe for six months and the tread is already pulling up from the bottom of one of the shoes. I don't do burpees and rarely do plyometric exercises or anything that would be particularly hard on the shoe, so it makes no sense to me why it's already damaged. I'm really disappointed by how this shoe has held up, and wouldn't recommend buying it.

I ordered these in an 8.5 (I wear an 8 in casual shoes but I tend to need to go up a size for hiking boots and active shoes). They were very comfortable but too big so I returned them with the provided shipping label (very convenient and I appreciate it) so that I could purchase the correct size. I had been saving money for these shoes as my reward for working out every day for a month straight. My refund never came. I called at the 2wk mark and the kind operator said refunds take 3 weeks so to call back in a week if it didn't come through. I called back after a week and the said they had just received the return item and to give it another week. I gave it another week and called back and they said my refund did not go through so they would have to do it manually. My refund showed up 4 days later (today). All the operators I talked to were great. But I just got on the website to reorder the shoes and they are out of stock. I almost cried. I have been wearing the same pair of ratty, tread-less tennis shoes that have hurt my knees and feet for almost 4 months now.

I've worn 9.5 running shoes in every shoe for as long as I've been a runner in every brand of shoe including several other Altras. These were a half size too big. The toe box also had too much curve similar to the Escalante which is really uncomfortable over time.

I saw Altra shoes on two employees at our wellness center and wanted to try a pair, even though I am basically an Asics fan. This particular model (Solstice XT) was far too wide for my normal foot (B width) and the body construction was very flimsy...no side or ankle support. I don't believe they are running shoes and I didn't want them for that purpose but I had to send them back and am presently waiting for my refund to process.

These shoes have a huge toe box, but they are very narrow on the sides of the foot and are loose in the back causing my heal of move up and down. They are too big, but too narrow. I have to wear thin socks because they are so narrow.

After my previous pair of original Solstice shoes ran out, I reached out to customer service to find out what the running shoe replacement for it would be (since the new Solstice was marked as an XT). They assured me that the shoe hadn't been changed much and that if I liked the original Solstice, I would like these as well. They're much tighter in the midfoot. They feel very different. They don't allow for as much foot spread during activity. Are they an awful shoe? No. But are they anything like the original Solstice? Also no.

I really wanted to love this shoe as I have a friend who loves hers. Like others here, the shoe is too narrow across the widest part of the foot. It appears to be the plastic or the vinyl on the outside of the shoe that restricts the width.

My heel continually slids up in the shoe when I walk around. Definitely couldn't work out in these without getting a terrible blister from rubbing. I believe it is because the side of the shoe dips so low, there is not enough support to keep shoe snug on.

This shoe is so uncomfortable! Way too tight everywhere! My toes are being smooshed together in this shoe all day. I wear CorrectToes and I cannot have my feet in these shoes without hurting all over. Altra shoes are supposed to be able to work with CorrectToesz sadly a lot of them dont. I was really hoping this shoe would be my new favorite. Too bad

I just threw out a cheap pair of tennis shoes with the same thing mesh knit material. They didn't provide enough stabilization for my feet and felt too narrow on my toes. I was expecting a lot more from thes,e but they felt the same as the cheap shoes I threw out. Also, you cannot get dirt out if the white material even with stain removers.

I wanted to love this so much as this is the best looking shoe in the Altra line. Unfortunately, that plastic cage thing on the side ruins it completely as it makes the shoe way too narrow and dug into the side of my foot. Would they have stretched out? Maybe, but I don't believe in breaking in trainers. They should be ready to work out of the box. I ended up buying the Escalante 2 and while I'd never lift in them, they're great for running WODS.

I eally wanted to love this sneaker. the large toe box reminded me of my Keens but in a lightweight shoe I could use for cross training. the hsoe is more minimal than I expected - not very structured. Makes it light but not cushioned enough for my feet. yes, the wide tow box is comfy but the top of the shoe presses down where the arch begins, creating pressure at the arch and ball of foot. I have high arches and this is quite painful for me. As much as I love the way the shoe fits and looks, I'll have to return them. I do wish Altra would consider the top-down spacing as much as they have accounted for width with the nice, roomy toe box.

I've owned a series of Altra shoes over the years and find the quality of them to be deteriorating. These pinch in strange places and have such a stiff and hard sole that I'd not want to wear them for any extended period of time. I'm returning them. I've owned and loved earlier versions Altra shoes and have worn them exclusively for 6 years. I've tried a number of the shoes currently on offer and none are as comfortable as past models.

These were honestly really comfortable when I first wore them and the second time, after that they seemed to lose all of their bounce and cushion. Now they just hurt my feet.

I absolutely love this brand and ordered my third pair but after 1 month the sole started to separate, I only wear these to the gym so seems like they shouldn't have done this... I superglued it down so we will see if it holds..
