This is a sneaker (940) that is becoming very difficult to find. My wife wears these particular shoes because of her custom orthotics. She loves the fit and style. These sneakers are one of the few that offer a rugged arch support, and accommodate her custom orthotics. We were elated when we received an email from Zappo that they had a pair of 940’s in her size. So we jumped at the opportunity to purchase another pair. Thank You Zappo for continuing to provide us with an easy shopping experience and the ability to provide a no nonsense return process. You rate an A+ in our book. Please change NOTHING!

like the sneakers very much but the left heel lifts because that left foot is smaller. Any suggestions for closing that small space in the heel??

I have difficult feet and a hard-to-find size. These shoes fit perfectly and I just took them for their first walk. The padding and motion control are great. I appreciate New Balance for providing for all of us oddballs!

I HATE shopping for shoes. I swear I fit the boxes better than I fit the shoes.
I measured my feet as directed, checked the sizing and took the plunge.
They fit perfectly!!!

I always wear New Balance shoes for casual times and need a LOT of support for my flat, very narrow, arthritic feet. I've had these about a week and they have certainly lived up to expectations. Not wild about the color choices, but otherwise it's great.

I have been wearing versions of the 940 for over 30 years. Very supportive for the overpronated foot. Interesting that the designers decided this go around they would take the conservative approach. My last ones were purple, these, a very sober gray!

With moderate degenerative arthritis with significant damage to both sides of both knees, coupled with severe over pronation, the bar support in these shoes make it possible to keep up the increase in activity! 13 years post bariatric surgery and I've been able to keep the 200+ lbs I released!
