I think the show has a lot of impact absorption and overall support however the arch did not suit my needs. I struggle with plantar fasciitis and a fibroma on my arch and this shoe did not provide the arch support needed. Disappointed considering how much they were, live and learn!

This shoe runs small. SInce I already wear size 13 I'm not willing to size up. It was also loose around the ankle.

Do not what has happened to NB.... I have worn for years. NB was made in USA and the narrow fits were always fabulous for me. Great fit, comfortable and style. This shoe is not narrow and slips on my heel. Also not made in USA. Unfortunately I am now spending time looking for a new shoe.

I have a narrow foot and I have been very happy with NB until now. I bought the 940 to replace my 1260's and no matter how I tied the shoe laces, or what socks i put on, the heel slipped. I returned them and bought Brooks Ghost 12. Great fit.

These shoes felt great to me--until I started walking in them for exercise. The description says they are designed to correct for overpronation so I tried them with and without the partial orthotics I have to correct for that problem. Despite giving them a go for two weeks, I finally had to box them up for return because they caused me to experience shin cramping (shin splints). Yesterday I had to cut my walk short because the pain became too much. Today, I took the same walk, for the same length of time, in my "substitute walking shoes" (used for when I'm between new running shoes) and had not discomfort whatsoever. I have no doubt my problem stemmed from these shoes. So sad, since I loved how they fit and how they looked!
P.S.: I wear 6.5-7 Narrow and ordered 7Narrow. Length and width were definitely true to size and very comfortable.

I was looking for a shoe with room for my orthotic that includes a 1/8 inch wedge lift on one shoe. This shoe was not high enough to accommodate that.

I started wearing these right away when I received them and honestly I was thinking how I should write about how they were just what I needed- but then the pain started. First above my knee, then under. Then up the back of my legs, then my lower back. I would put them on in the morning and I couldn’t wait to take them off. I told myself it was just everything adjusting to the angle of the soles meant to counter my pronation and I’d get used to it but it just got worse and worse until I hurt from head-to-toe on Christmas Day. I took them off and I won’t ever put them back on again. I put my old Brooks back on and that’s it - today, no more pain. Oh my gosh these made me so miserable. And now I’m even more miserable knowing they cost me a chunk of change I’ll never get back
Oh, and btw - if you walk outdoors with these anywhere it snows they are like wearing ice skates. The sole is a bit harder than most athletic shoes (for support I assume) and snow accumulates in the open space in the middle of the sole and will take you out if you aren’t careful
I used to always wear New Balance but these are probably the last pair I’ll buy. Wish I’d never bought them

They put the toe protector on the inside so when you walk it caves in and rubs your toe raw. Junk

These shoes were amazingly uncomfortable. I only had to put one shoe on to know they were getting returned. Most uncomfortable and still around the heal and ankle.

I had to return these running shoes as they are way to high against the ankle bone and caused pain when walking. I used to buy the 860 but not happy with any version after v6

really cramped in toe box -- they really aggravated the metataralgia in my right foot that had otherwise been getting better.

I use these for running I use these for walking and I use them for everyday wear. However, that's the version 3 that I use. When they made the version 4 they ruined the shoe. They" updated" a shoe that needed to go updated. The 9:40 version 3 was an amazing shoe. I still have a couple of pairs that I will be wearing as long as I can. I will not be buying buying another pair a version 4 because they change the fit all together. The arch now is about half an inch further to the front than it used to be. So the sevens no longer fit me correct and the 7 and 1/2 doesn't either. I can't wear that shoe anymore. Also the bottom feels like nothing. There is no support no Comfort no nothing. The version 3 is supportive and comfortable and fits like a glove. This version 4 shoe is a disappointment. I do wish they would go back to the version 3 and because that was the best shoe ever.

This is a very disappointing follow-up to the 940v3s, which I have loved and worn pretty much exclusively over the past two years. I have severe overpronation and have to wear custom orthotics. For me, these were very comfy and incredibly supportive in holding up my weak ankles. I absolutely loved them. I tried on the new version, and it felt like they gave me no support at all. I could easily see my especially bad ankle rolling inward, even with my orthotic in place. If you have regular feet and are looking for a more neutral shoe or for minimal support, this is a nice-looking shoe and comfy, but there's no way it will work for me, unfortunately. Back to the drawing board and now on the hunt for a truly supportive shoe for those of us who severly overpronate.

The shoe fit as expected. I've ordered 940s for a while now because I have an issue with overpronation. They've always provided the support that I need.

Keep making this shoe. This is my go to style that comes in extra wide. New Balance is the only brand I buy.
