i have tried several of the 940v4 and everyone of them the "tongue" always slides down to the right, no matter how tight you tie the lace

Looking for NARROW shoes -- but the area around the toes/mid-foot was WAY too roomy. I have really thin, bony feet, and this shoe had a lot of empty space, even when the width was suitable, the space above the foot was way too vacant.

Walking for over pronating women. Why did you change??? You should leave a good shoe alone.
I'm a physiologist and physician associate and New Balance is going downhill. All my Ortho physicians and other providers agree!

First pair were too small despite ordering correct size and my measured feet have not changed. This has happened 3 times now with NB products. I think the quality has definitely suffered. First pair probably had the correct shoe insert in them, but because the shoe was not made to true size, the insert caused a bump at the toe as it buckled. Not wearable. Returned pair for a larger pair. The larger size fit is fine, however there are sharp points on the internal toe support that really hurts my big toe. Becoming very disappointed with NB products.

I have truly been disappointed with New Balance shoes on my last 6 pair. I had to return 2 pair because my normal size 8 were so small my toes touched the end of the shoes. My feet have not changed. Something has changed about the way they are making shoes. The next 2 replacement pair only lasted a few months before wearing through the top. The next 2 pair were too narrow despite ordering the correct width. Now with this pair, 940v4, the first pair had a weird lump at the toe. I think it was the wrong shoe insert and because it was made for a true size 8, it didn't fit in the shoes. My toes touched the end of the shoe, which again is odd because my actual measured foot has not changed. I think they are making the shoes shorter, which caused the insert to not fit correctly. Because I love the shoes and the width is correct, I returned them for a larger size. The larger size fits well, however, now there is something that feels hard and sharp on the side of the big toe. I think it's the edge of the rubber that provides definition for the end of the shoe. I'm going to try wearing them for a few weeks to see if it softens or if I can somehow fix it. I've looked on New Balance website, which is where I typically purchase all my NB shoes, and for 2021, they no longer have any shoes in stock for my extra wide feet. It's hard finding good shoes that do not look hideous for extra wide feet. I hope NB is not discontinuing Extra wide sizes. I don't know where I'm going to find quality shoes with great support for my arthritic feet.

I love NB because they make narrow sizes. However, this style has no arch support and no cushioning. I returned these shoes.

Extremely disappointed. I bought this shoe because New Balance retired my old model, 1260. This is definitely not a good replacement for the 1260. Toe box is very large and makes the shoe feel and look bigger than it is. The shoe insole is extremely stiff and hard - making for an uncomfortable fit.

Big toe stuck out into the material. Never had this happen before on a New Balance.

I love New Balance brand and buy their shoes regularly. These were purchased for running. They feel heavy and clunky and stiff. I am disappointed in these shoes.

These were not a good substitute for my 490. They were suggested by a person online and I developed a pain in my left knee and a backache on the right side.

I got my shoes at the beginning of this year and within 3 months they are ripping and falling apart. I was expecting better quality for the price I paid.

Didn't even get to wear them. A full size too big, a full size too wide. I did a side by side comparison of my 10w OG New Balance and something changed in the sizing.
I put them up against eachother and it wasn't even close. If you're going to get these keep that in mind. The sizing is utter rubbish.

I have flat feet and this shoe has the arch support inside of it that was painful to me. The shoe was also heavy and felt like bricks on my feet. They weren't for me, but might be for someone else as I returned them

Ordered the size 11 2a & the toe box still is too wide & tall. Too wide for my narrow foot. Had to return.

The shoes run a half size big...also the medium is a very generous width. They were comfortable in the house....not a long distance shoe for me.

The shoes did not fit as they have In Previous years. I like the 940 8 1/2 w but this year it was to loose in the heel. Unusual, as I get new balance because they fit perfect.
Now I have lost my $10 birthday reward as I had to send them back.
Maybe I will try and find a new balance shoe store- last year they didn't have the selection they did in previous years
Plus I did not care for the color selection in the 940 as I did in previous years

After a few weeks of wearing this pair of New Balance I am having pain in my feet. Something is wrong with the over pronation. This is my third pair of New Balance over pronation. Getting the pain back in my feet again. IT IS NOT MADE RIGHT. DO NOT RECOMMEND!

I wish I knew. Now I have to search for it. I need an Extra Wide and the choice is so limited. :(

I bought a pair of the 940V4 in March of 2020. They are very comfortable but there is a hole starting in the top of the shoe from my toes. I don't wear the shoes every day and I always wear socks with my shoes. The fabric shouldn't wear out after six months. I am extremely disappointed in the quality of this shoe.

Please go back to 10 mm shoe, these are too clunky and don't fit at all like the 940 v 3. The drop is too high and I hit my metatarsal all the time and it doesn't feel good.. the lacing is different too. Not a smooth transition from heel to toe..bring back the 940 v 3 please . It runs a little long.
Frustrated,

I bought this shoe because I used to wear version 3, which I wore for a few years. And I would buy new pairs couple three times a year because I'm on my feet all the time. They were the best shoe I've ever worn. When they changed it to version 4, they made changes that changed how the shoe fits and how it wears and how uncomfortable it is. Number one, it is now no longer comfortable. The soul although the salesman assured me it has not been changed, it has been changed. I saw a test online where they measure different things and he said that it is different. They moved the arch slightly, just enough so it doesn't fit me correctly and there is no longer really any arch support at all. It is a stiffer shoe now, it does not have the bounce. The version 3 had a beautiful bounce to help you get running, this version for does not. The shoe is uncomfortable now, and I used to wear the version 3 all the time from the minute I got up till I went to bed at night because they were so comfortable. I'm very disappointed in New Balance for changing the shoe like this. And your sales people seem to think you didn't change the bottom but you did. Minor changes I know but none the less they are changes that people who have sensitive feet or whatever they notice it. I'm going to have to switch to a different brand I'm sorry to say

So disappointed in this shoe. I have always worn size 8 1/2 wide so I assumed I was safe ordering these. These were too long and too wide- I should have stuck with my normal Brooks shoe.

I didn't like this model. I am used to the 860 loving them for years now with every version UNTIL v10. With the 860 v10 NB thinned out the heel cup. Lots of negative reviews including mine.
So I tried the 940 but it's too heavy and fits shorter in the foot then the 860v10 in the same exact size.
