These shoes were cheaply made and a very wide narrow I am returning them & will not buy them again.

Much too wide. Just because a foot is longer does not mean it is wider.

As soon as I pulled these out of the box I knew I was going to return them. They were noticeably heavier than any other New Balance shoe I've purchased and when I tried them on, the material touching the back of my heel was so slippery against my socks that my foot kept sliding out despite the shoe feeling too small. Disappointed because I've worn nothing other than New Balance for running for 7 years and this is the first time I've had to return a purchase.

I have several pairs of New Balance 940v3 which I love but need to replace. The new style (940v4) fits nowhere near the way the previous one does. I also do not like the thin material which i don't think will hold up. Therefore, I am returning them.

I really liked the look of these shoes. Unfortunately, I took 2 steps and my knee was in pain. My daughter wears the same size so she tried them and said both knees hurt as well as pain in lower leg.

I have a narrow foot and struggle to find running shoes that fit well. The narrow size width on these shoes were perfect. However the shoe put pressure underneath the very front of my arch and underneath my outer ankle bone. The pressure was significant enough that it was uncomfortable and I was afraid it would lead to blisters. So unfortunately had to return them. I am sad because I really wanted these to work.

I am returning these shoes, sadly. I have had consistent good luck with previous versions of the 940. This version did not fell as supportive.

I’m a New Balance fan but these shoes were very uncomfortable in the toe box for me. I even ordered them in wide which is not my normal width, and still there wasn’t enough toe room. Style was ok, typical NB but then I never buy NB for style.

The tip of the toe is very stiff and was uncomfortable against my big toe. As first I thought it just ran small, but there is actually enough length, but the stiff toe insert makes them feel too small. Returning.

So disappointed in these 940s, previous pair fit perfectly, great support. This new version lacks the support, the reinforced toe and proper fit...why change a good thing?

I wanted to love these. I have bought 2 other pairs of New Balance running shoes that I LOVED. I thought I would branch out and try a new style since I do not have a running store where I currently live. I loved the color (black and gray) and wanted so badly to make the 940s work! Unfortunately, I also found that the toe box has some kind of plastic/seam inside of it that hits my little toe and is wildly uncomfortable. I didn't have this issue with my other New Balances. If these were cheaper, perhaps I would consider keeping them for walking shoes, but I can't justify having to purchase another pair to run in. Unfortunately these are getting returned. Hopefully they'll change the toe box in the future.

Very comfortable

I like the way the shoe looks but it feels very stiff and causes pain where it hits the arch of my foot.

This shoe is larger than normal for my usually athletic shoe size and the narrow width is NOT narrow. I have another pair of New Balance narrow sneakers that fit my foot like a glove. It is a 9N. I started with a 9N on this shoe. It was overall too big so I exchanged for an 8 1/2 N. The length is almost short but the shoe overall is still too big. The toe box is very wide. While I expected the shoe to be supportive as a stability shoe, it is not at all comfortable; the sole is hard and stiff. Sorry Zappos, I have to send these back, too. :-(. Why don't shoe companies make TRUE narrow sizes anymore???

I have several pairs of New Balance sneakers, but this model just didn’t work for me. I bought my usual size, but they were a bit too short: my toes were pushed right up against the toe of the shoe. I then tried a half size larger, but they were too big; the shoe was slipping on my heel.

These seemed clunky. I'm usually a size 9.5 extra wide in women's shoes and previously wore a New Balance 860V8 9.5 EE width comfortably. These weren't wide enough at all, at size 9.5 EE, and my feet pushed out the fabric area over the sole and it pinched. There's an unusual feature of the toe box, in that it has some sort of plastic support bit inside the toe rim. It's not uncomfortable or anything on first try-on, but it makes my feet look clunkier and bigger. This will be a return.
