I try to walk at least three miles every day; only shoes I walk in. I have tried others in the past; New Balance 940 are the only walking shoes I will purchase. Going on at least ten years of walking with New Balance shoes.

Wear these every day. Just ordered two pair to have when the one pair wears out. Have feet, ankle, knee issues and balance issues from a stroke and this shoe helps with it all. Hope they keep this shoe around. Would give 5 stars if they had more color choices.

The functionality of the shoe was up to the usual standards. My disappointment was due to the color--the black isn't much different from the slate grey. I had to take liquid polish to it to get it completely black. Other than that, it was fine. I would have given it a 4.5 if I could have

Comfortable shoe. Have always liked New Balance because of their wide width; however, most of their shoes (even wide) are not wide enough for me anymore. This one actually is.

I have bought these shoes the 940's for years love them however this last pair I bought seems to be tight on my toes and I always have to duct tape the inside where the big toe rubs( and yes I keep my nails short) or it gets a hole it in quickly. I wish they had a more durable fabric or something that covered at least this area. When your jogging 3-5 miles a day 3-4 times a week that's a lot of rubbing

I wear size 10 narrow and found the 11.5 narrow is the best fit for me. I've put many running miles on my shoes over the past 25 years and this shoe is truly one of the most comfortable running shoe I've worn. I also need shoes with good arch support. Alone, the arch support isn't great, but it's better than most relative to other brands I've worn. However, with my insoles, the arch support is adequate in providing a comfortable fit. These shoes also are great for stability as the design of the soles does not lend itself to pronating, which I often do not find in running shoes.

I should have ordered a half-size smaller, but since I'd worn New Balance before, I ordered my usual size. This time, however, it was too large. The shoe is well made, but didn't have enough cushioning for my liking. The insole was rather thin and offered little support or cushioning. The sole itself was too hard and had almost no give as I walked. For the price of the shoe, I was expecting better, and although the construction is good, I don't want to have to buy an expensive insole to enjoy this shoe. It will be returned.
