I was a little hesitant to order these because I have never spent so much on a sneaker before but Zappos sent me a “try them out for a month guarantee” so I figured “what do I have to lose”? It turns out nothing. These are the most comfortable walking/running sneakers I have ever owned. I don’t understand how they do it but no matter what foot discomfort I wake up with, once I slip these on, it’s gone. Just back to order a second pair.

The model New Balance 940 is touted as the pronator's shoe. I have flat, slender feet, which pronate on walking. I have a second pair of these shoes which encouraged me to get another identical pair before they were discontinued. I ordered the same size, and the shoes were slightly shorter than my existing pair, but I am sure they will stretch somewhat and be a good, supportive fit. The shoes are very comfortable, just very slightly short.

Used the 940 and its predecessors for everyday use and runs, walks, etc. Need a stability shoe and found it the best. Resolved recurring knee problems. Have run many Half Marathons, and several 10K in this reliable, well built 940. Sizing may run a bit small - I am a 10.5 2E in most dress shoes; a 12 2E is perfect in the 940.

I have been buying NB 940v since 2019--that is when I was introduced to them. I have purchased each color, but now cant find them anywhere!. This last purchase was after being on line for days. Was very lucky to find them at NB itself. Have you decided to discontinue the 940's?? Please say NO!
They are wonderfully comfortable, durable, nice looking and great for pronation. If you have any hidden in a dark corner somewhere, please let me know and I will buy them all! Thank you.

Great running shoe designed for a heavy heel striking over pronator. Sadly they are difficult to find anymore as is information about what a running shoe was designed for but fortunately, New Balance still lists the design purpose of their shoes.

I bought No. 8 EE type shoes couple times in the past. I bought same size this time again but I believe actually larger. Indication is same, that means the shoes is made lager this time. It makes me confusion. I returned.

So disappointing. Bought these for my husband. He wore them around the house for a few days to be sure they were comfortable. After a 2 mile walk a few days later he is now limping with bruises on the top of his feet from the shoe and says he can't wear them anymore--feels like a bar across the top of his foot. Now that he wore them outside we can't return. What a waste..

Typical for new balance, you get about three mo ths of use per pair. Cheaply made. Made in the USA used to mean something. Unfortunately I have to buy these because my foot Dr said so.

I liked these shoes enough to buy a second pair a year later the only issue I have had with them is they have had to be glues several times over the year on the front of shoe. the first time they had to be glued was the second time I wore them. I am not dissapointed in my purchase I just believe it was a flaw in the first pair I bought.
