Tried them on as soon as they arrived (shipping was slow). I really like the sturdy support of these compared to my 840s, but they run small. My toe hits the front unlike in my 840s that are the exact same size....So sadly I have to return them.

This pair of running shoes are comfortable, supportive, and stylish

I do what I call my 'Road Work 6 of 7 days of the week. It consists of a 5 mile 'aggressive' walk on a road surface. At 73, the 940v4 appears to be the training shoe I've been after for most of my adult life. So much so, in fact, that I've purchased a second pair because, as walkers know, they don't last forever. New Balance is the only training and exercise show I wear. They are doing something right ... at least, for me!!

Walking 12 to 15,000 steps a day in a hospital down long hallways, this shoe fits my wide feet perfectly. Has roomy toe bed, all the support I need. These shoe's always help my with plantar fasciitis . New Balance shoe's overall seem to be recommended by podiatrist's. It's amazing to me that competitors don't offer more of their shoes in wide sizes, even if they did, NB is still for me.

I've been a LOYAL NB fan since the 80's and the last 4-5 pairs of shoes I have bought just don't fit the same as they used to. And that includes the "MADE IN THE USA" line. These shoes are not (to me) a SL2 last. They are VERY tight in the mid foot and heel. I cannot keep ordering and returning shoes to find that one pair that fit me like NB shoes used to fit.

I wear 13B and these shoes seems to run small. My toes touch the end. So, I can't really give them much of a review since I sent them back.

I like these shoes. Good quality. True size. Comfortable.

I got these shoes at the direction of my foot doctor. I was having severe pain in my left foot when I walked; I was even limping it was so bad. He told me it was because I was over-pronating. He took my favorite NB 574's and twisted them to show me how easily they would bend and give me no side support. He said I needed a stiffer shoe that would retain its shape. He recommended the New Balance 940. They work! I still have some pain of course but from the first time I put them on I could feel the added support. They definitely do NOT bend! Frankly I liked the look and feel of the 574's much better. More comfortable and more stylish. I have a couple of pairs of them. I guess I won't be able to wear them anymore. Bummer. But it's a trade-off. I'm sure they'll get more comfy as I wear them in, and I'd much rather be able to walk again in comfort than to look cool....

Wrong size insoles after wearing entire day with annoying pains in front toes and discomfort removed insoles to see different sizes and new balance return policy says must be returned in new condition and worn for a single day very unhappy

Comfortable, good materials. Footbed is some what stiff. May brake in though.

Fits so well! I have really wide and the edge of my feet always rub into the sides of my shoes; sometimes to the point where I will roll my ankle. These shoes tend to balance my feet and take some pressure off of the outsides of my feet. More over, they allow me to take walks without too much back pain. The looks are fantastic and I love the fit and feel.

These shoes are very comfortable, fantastic arch support, light, and stable. I have two pair and generally wear these everyday (unless I have a business meeting).

Great fit. Was looking for a sneaker with some cushion . I've found it.

I stand all day long, at my job. I ordered these shoes online, and they arrived this week. While the shoe is basically comfortable, supportive, and stabilizing, I was really disappointed in the lack of arch support. If you have high arches, and are hoping that this is the shoe to support them, keep looking. I do like the shoe design and overall cushioned comfort, but I will need to find inserts to help build their lack of arch support.

I have had a pronation problem for years. These shows solve that issue. I walk about 20 miles a week. I liked them so much I bought two pair within 3 months. I didn't want them to be discontinued.

I love these shoes. Fit great, feel great and look great.
