Ordered wide EE, but it is narrow. I have the Challenger hiking boot in wide and that feels nicely wide. This wide feels tight, and i dont have wide feet. I just prefer the expansion room. They are extremely comfortable, but if these were used like I use the hiking model, natural foot expansion would render this shoe useless for that purpose.

It makes my Achilles tendons sore. Stick with Bondi for running.

I really wanted to like them but (always a but isn't there) if you want to change out their inserts make sure they're flat as pancakes. Not a lot of room in there.

The wide version is not wide enough... If this shoe was made in a Flat Top 4 inch Mid and 4 extra wide... I would buy 10 Pairs!!!!

Nice shoe but it's over priced, it needs more inside arch support, the insole that's in the shoe is thin and flimsy, they could have done better. Lesson learned.

Love Hoka. I have had 4 different styles of Hoka's and all the same size- 12.5 wide. CHALLENGER LOW GORE-TEX are little narrow.

The Challenger was not the right fit for me. It seems as if I am a Bondi 7 person. I returned the Challenger some time ago if you would check your records. I actually found the Bondi 7 I was looking for at a running store less than 10 miles from me.

I have a love/hate relationship with these shoes, which happens often as I find one shoe that fits great and the other does. These shoes fit fine when I tried them on, but once I started to wear them I had issues with the left shoe not fitting right. I'd worn them a few times and almost stuck them in the back of the closet. It was raining one day and I put them on and they wore much better. I wore them a few more times and they were great, and now I'm having the same issue again. I wear these casually and purchased them for comfort and because they were gore-tex. When I purchased these I bought a pair of Gaviota 2's to wear 3x a week where I do a long 8.3 mile walk each time. I've just replaced those with another pair of Hoka's so I am a fan.

While these shoes are well made so far the comfort is not there. Hoping more use will improve this.

Wanted this to work as I love the Hoka Hoka model I have now but has been discontinued. Bought the same size but this Challenger too small/narrow.

I use it on the range during training. Since it's Gore-tex, the material is stiff. The shoe strings are difficult to adjust. However, for me, the fit is good (Wide feet, high arches). Defintely different from my Bondi's!

Very comfortable, but hard to lace. Need bigger eyelets or speed lace loops.

My original HOKA Shoes were the Bondi 6 with the all leather uppers in size 10.5 Extra Wide Plush that were discontinued. I have to have an all leather upper for work so the only option was the shoes I bought. They are okay but definitely not as comfortable as the Bondi 6. I do not want a mid or high rise.

Shoe is definitely waterproof and stays pretty warm in cold weather. Not much grip during icy weather however and part of the rubber sole fell apart after just a couple of days.

Aside from these not fitting well and causing foot pain (which could very well be peculiar to me) father felt like they had inadequate cushioning. I think I'm just conditioned to the Bondi or the Clifton, which I love. I will stick to them in the future.

The "wide" in this shoe seems much narrower than a wide in the Bondi shoes, and not as comfortable.

Nice shoe for walking on flat surfaces but useless on trails or hilly, uneven terrain. I thought with the Goretex it could be used on trails but that was hopeful thinking. They are light and will be great around town in rainy weather or winter walks on N. California beaches.

Love the shoe, but the width is too narrow for the hubby. He has Fred Flintstone feet!

Fit and size were good so I ordered another pair, but after wearing for a while the shoes make my feet and legs sore. I don't know why. I love the look. Unfortunately, these shoes just cause a problem with my feet. I will be returning the pair that I have not worn.
I'd also recommend:
I have had a comfortable fit from New Balance and Brooks

I have a narrower fit, and have had great success with the Clifton 6's(size 14) and Speedgoat EVO's(size 15). The weird thing is that the Bondi 6's and Challenger's are too small in 14's, and too big in 15's.

I've worn Salomon sneakers in the past but wanted to try something different. I saw these pair at a sporting goods store in NYC and loved how they look. They fit fairly snug and I was hoping loosening the laces would help. I also tried the wide version, but that had too much room in the toe area. After walking around for 5-10 minutes, I started feeling some pain/discomfort on my feet. I returned it the next day and bought a pair of Salomon instead. It seems like Hoka sneakers are made for people with narrow feet. I was hoping these would work out.
