I had to slit the tongue on both sides inside the shoe so I can get them on without unlacing most of the way. My feet are narrow so I don't know why the shoe was built so tight. Once they're on they feel great, getting them on you need a crowbar. I have at least 4 pairs of Hokas so I like the brand.

Bought these as approach and camp shoes. Here is what the testers should have reported. Get at least a half size up if wearing regular socks, a full size with hiking socks. The lacing system is a total failure. Putting on these shoes requires a shoe horn, a two handed wrestling match, or unlacing. The GoreTex works great . Feet stayed dry in slushy snow.

True hikers, we know, how is it that Hoka does not? Come on Hoka! This is the best you got? Seriously? Every long distance hiker knows that we order a half or whole size bigger and we order them and in extra or extra extra wide. Feet swell when hiking long distances, a fact that Hoka does not understand and I can provide photos and evidence of this. Hoka, you really need to provide extra and extra extra wide hiking boots if you want to compete in the hiking boot world. I returned both sets of boots, they fit fine but I know I could never take them on a long distance hike because Hoka does not get it. These are great if you hike once every other week. But on a thru hike, forget it! I hike 600 miles at a time and these would never cut it, they would not even suffice on a one day 15 mile hike. Too narrow, come on Hoka! I will stick with Solomons, your fault.

So I bought a couple pairs of these shoes for me and the wife for hiking and I had to buy a 1/2 size up, as they are just too snug on the foot and difficult to slide on. Also, one of the pairs we ordered had an obvious defect. When I first received the shoes and when I tightened up the laces, it broke the leather eyelet which holds the lace in place. I looked at the other shoes and although they didn't have the same issue (yet?) I'm wondering how long they will hold up based on the thin leather material that was holding the lace in place without any metal or plastic eyelets. The minimum (30) day return policy makes me a little nervous for an obvious design flaw, so just be aware!

I like the style, but this style of Hokas were just too narrow for me. I looked to see if they came in a wide, but if couldn't find them. As a result, I had to send them back.

Maybe is not their primary use, but I wanted because I stand for a long time and I felt like this was the right one. But like it said on the description is maybe only for running. After 4 hours your feet will hurt bad.

Sizing was not the same as my other "low top" ones. I needed a "higher top" support due to some foot surgery and they didn't support like I had expected. I returned them because they were not what I needed or could use.

I have had multiple pairs of Hoka shoes. At least 7-8 pair of Bondi 7 in the last two years alone. I am a size 11 or 11.5 in other brands but have been size 12 in Hoka to get a comfortable fit. I ordered a size 12.5 in the Speedgoat Mid because it was the only thing near my size available in limited inventory and I thought having something a little larger in a boot that I'd wear mostly in wet and cold snowy weather would be ok. Even with think socks the Speedgoat felt tight for size abd width. Returned them. Will keep looking. I am a big Hoka fan as I walk a lot for exercise and have a little arthritis in my feet.

In theory, I still like the Hoka One One product, which was recommended to me by two different orthopedists. But, sizing is an issue because - in my limited experience - the shoes tend to run narrow. In addition, availability is limited, especially in wide sizes. I returned my shoes and could not get a replacement pair. Sizes are doubly limited in "Mid" shoes which have the ankle collar, which I feel I want for additional support.
Customer service regarding my return was excellent. I look for to receiving my refund and purchasing another pair of Hoka shoes when appropriate replacements become available.
Disappointed but not (yet) disillusioned.

I have 3 complaints for this shoe. 1) The pull tabs are not designed effectively. They are very weak and the left pull tab completey separated from the left shoe and I had the shoes for less than 2 months. They need to improve the design to make the pull tabs stronger and more secure so they never tear away from the material. 2) The tongue of the shoe is too short and thin. I prefer thicker padded tongues that are longer to give more comfort, stability, and ankle support and protection. 3) I don't like that they put the small Reflective logo on the back of the shoe. One of the reasons I ordered the shoe was because I thought it had nothing reflective on them. When I got the shoe in hand I saw that wasn't the case. That was a big disappointment. I hope that Hoka makes these 3 improvements on the 3rd version of the Speedgoat mid because if they do I will probably buy 2 pairs of them. I do like the Black and anthracite colorway, that's the one I bought. I hope they continue to make a black/black or Black/grey colorway option for the Speedgoat mid. I hope a new and improved Speedgoat mid 3 will be releasing soon, with no reflective accents.

I got it for my husband who has Hoka snickers in this size and they fit fine. These ones he couldn’t even put on, despite unlacing it completely.
They look very nice, but ...

I use these shoes for work and I love the support and comfort of the sole but my little toe is pushing out the side so hard that I can hardly wear these shoes all day. I normally wear a 10.5 but I bought a set of 11 to try and not have this happen. I spent more on these than I normally spend!

They are really comfortable and that's all. The sole wore out after 4 weeks and they started leaking after 2 weeks.
I've been climbing for almost 40 years and I've never had such poor quality shoes.

i bought this shoe because seems to be comfortable, and it does, but the soles are crap, i only used them for a 15 mile trail running, and the soles on both shoes detached, it was the last layer on the sole that does the grip separated from the cushion sole, bad purchase :(

Its quite light weight for a hiking shoe( which I initially thought was good) till I realized it wasn't substantial enought to hold up to hiking. And i also had a bad experience with a hoka warranty return. Decided to find a new shoe company!
