I think I've been wearing Hoka ONE ONE for around eight years. I have a bad back starting with a flying fall over a horses head at full gallop at fifteen years old so I need a shoe with cushion, support and terrific grip so that I can climb desert foothills and explore the old mines and desert beauty I love. Speedgoat 4 has everything I need - I have worn them to weddings, funerals, class reunions and dinners. In fact, I wear them to everything we go to. I can climb and not slip on rocky hillsides like no other shoe or sneaker. I wear them because I can hike longer, more comfortably, dance reasonably and climb like a goat all with the same shoe. The surest footing on slippery surfaces works great even when I'm working on projects around the house. I always want to have incredible grip, I always want comfort. So there is no time that would be a good time to wear anything else...

Running trails and feeling all the comforts

Really like my new shoes and the wide sizing. Perfect fit. My only comment is the tongue of the shoe is a bit long for me and bites into my foot when I use sockettes But otherwise all okay

I have had these SG 4's for a month now and put 60-80 miles of trail on them. I absolutely love them! I believe the longest run I have done in them is a 7.5 miler and my legs and feet felt fresh afterwards. These things are the best! I got the wide version because my foot has always been wider to begin with and the fit is spot on. Get your "true to size" and if you normally get wides, go with the wide! You'll thank yourself. I have a pair of Bondi 7's in wide and I have to say the SG's are more spacious which is nice for the trail. Especially with the sharp turns and steep declines that you see a lot more on the trail than you do on the road. Your foot has more freedom to move, but it's not sloppy by any means. Durable construction of the upper and the Vibram sole seems like it will last for several hundred miles. As mentioned I have the Bondi's so I am used to the weight of these shoes. If you're not used to 10.80oz's on your feet you'll want to prep your legs by doing some weighted leg raises. If you don't, you will get 5-6 miles in and you will start to have pain from then being heavier. Once you're used to the weight it's usually never a problem! Overall the SG's are a fantastic shoe and I am super happy to have purchased them! You should too!

Love the way they fit and fell

Since 4/2020 I have purchased 8 pair of the speedboats, 2 bondi, 2 Clifton, 1 glide, 1 sandal and another. The speedgoats improved my hike times and feel great. If there is a drawback it is the bottom tread doesn't last long if you hike a lot. I do about 100 miles or so per month.

I have purchased two Hoka shoes now and they are the best! My feet don't hurt after road running or trail running. These trail shoes are amazing!

Jogging is made like running on the clouds

The cushion is amazing but feels responsive. I'm coming from Altra Lone Peaks the last few years, so was a little suspicious about the tighter fit and drop. Although the toe box isn't as roomy as the LPs, it works really well for my foot. Feels more secure on the trail, and the 4mm drop isn't a big deal at all. Sizing is similar to what I wear in Altras.

I've always been street and sidewalk runner. Trying to get comfortable doing trail runs. Very pleased to have a proper pair of trail shoes.

Great fit and comfort

The Goat is a GOAT for my trail. I have the Jaws and the Goats. Jaws on my trail when it's wet, cause it climbs walls and Goat on the same trail when dry because it has more cushion
