No Tongue and unusual lacing make this shoe hard to wear as a true running shoe.

There is the Cavu 3 Slip and this one....same shoe, one just has laces for the 'look'. liked the look of the shoe but with a high instep, this foot doesn't go in slip ons.....sent back. Posted simply so others don't buy if thinking it's not a slip on....was looking forward to wearing

The shoe was difficult to get them on. Also it was tight around the toebox. It just didn't feel right on my foot. That's why I sent it back

Could not get my foot through the sock-like opening, so I never was even able to try them out. Ridiculous.

This shoe is horribly designed. There is no give to get your foot in. I have big feet (14). And it was all I could to get my foot in the shoe to begin with. Then, once I got it on, right where the toes are, on top of the shoe, there is plastic and it rubs my toes raw. Needless to say, I sent them back.

How Hoka thinks you fit your foot in the opening of this shoe is beyond me. It's not a lace up - it's a slip on. The laces are mostly for show - a bad sign that they are designing for look rather than function. My foot didn't fit in the opening for the correct (maybe even a half size larger shoe.) What a joke.

If I had known, at the time of purchase, that there was no tongue in these shoes, I would not have bought them. A real pain to put on. I will be hesitant to buy Hokas in the future because I don't want anymore shoes without tongues.

I bought these because I have 2 pair of CAVU that I purchased a few years ago and love them, but these were nothing like the original. Why do they have to redesign the ones that work??????

The stretchy upper is the new "feature" of the cavu 3. For me, it constricts my big toe and cuts off circulation. I don't have wide feet and this has not been an issue for me before. Bumping up the shoes a size did not fix this issue, but it did cause my feet to slide around everywhere except the tip. The cavu 1&2 were the best shoes I've ever owned and I bought multiple pairs of each and I'm incredibly disappointed with the cavu 3.

I have three pairs of Hoka sneakers and have found the size to run true. This shoe felt like it was at least one size smaller that what was ordered.

The shoe is very beautiful, however the fir is terrible. I've had many Hoka shoes in the past and this pair along the front end is very tight as the band on the from seems short. I definitely can't run with them and if I walk too long, I need to take them off. I've never had this problem in the past.

These shoes look awesome, but they were far too snug for my husbands feet. Narrow footed peeps won't have issues. He's 6'5 215 and very fit and generally wears kahru's or saucony's. Since the material isn't very stretchy, we're sending them back as they don't seem they'll break in w use.

I returned the CAVU 3 shoes because of a poor fit with my high arch. I have been trying to redeem my coupon code to order a different type of HOKA shoe but have been unsuccessful. Very frustrating. Any assistance would be appreciated.

6’2” 180 size 11 30-35 miles weekly 7min pace; Wore saucony Kinvara’s for years, but on their 11th version of the shoe I figured there has to be something better on the market in a minimalist kind of shoe. This has slightly higher drop at 6mm compared with the 4mm of the kinvara, but weighed in at .6 ounces lighter with a size 9 so figured I would give them a shot. The addition of the low profile black shoe with white sole was appealing compared with the color schemes of the sauconys. Before getting through much of my first run I started feeling some rubbing on the top of the foot from the laces. Since it has a built tongue there is no protection from the friction. To solve the problem I tried inverting the laces from the bottom up so I wouldn’t be forced to use ever lace hole which worked for one 4 mile run, but about 1 mile into my second run on them the same problem occurred with the rubbing which cause a small abrasion. I wanted to love the shoe, but It has a major design flaw with tounge and the friction it creates from having a built in tongue where the laces can rub made them impossible to enjoy. I will be returning the shoes and hope to find a better option otherwise it is back to the kinvaras.
