These shoes are incredibly comfortable for about the first mile when the stiff tounge gouging into the front of your ankles becomes impossible to ignore. After 2 miles of very leisurely on and off hiking, the front of my ankles was actually rubbed raw and semi bleeding. I could cut the tongues off and let them fray and possibly poke me elsewhere but I will return them instead. Bummer as the sole of the shoe and the color scheme is otherwise a go.

Loved everything but the tongue. It dug into my ankle. I should have paid attention to reviews. I've worn Bondi and Clifton 7 and love them both. The tongue on both of those models is soft and cushiony. Going back to that!

I love Hoka One One Clifton 7 and Bondi 1

I love the Hoka products that I have purchased in the past...3 pairs. Hoka sneakers have given me the ability to run despite having some back issues. Unfortunately, my recent purchase is a disappointment. The color and outward style is nice. The fit however, is stiff and the tongue of the shoe feel uncomfortable and stiff as well. Sorry, this time around purchasing these sneaks was a mistake.

I was hoping the stiff tongue problem mentioned in other reviews wouldn't be a problem, but it was. I hope Hoka One One reads these and redesigns! I LOVE my tivra hokas and was hoping to love these. Had to return. Love working with Zappos though!

Everything about this shoe is great......EXCEPT....the tongue; it digs into your ankle crease making walking very uncomfortable. Socks couldn't even help. As other reviewers stated, it,s a game changer. I didn't listen and now I need to take the walk of shame to UPS and return them.

I'm a OR circulator, needed new shoes and was having sore feet by end of day. This brand came highly recommended and I bought it. About 2-3 weeks after I was having heel pain, then the 30 days passed and I couldn't return them. Pretty disappointed, need to go buy another pair of shoes

I was so excited when Hoka came out with a waterproof Speedgoat, so I ordered them right away. I've owned four pairs of the Speedgoat 2 and 3 and they're the most comfortable shoes I've ever had. I've walked hundreds of miles in my Speedgoats, including many miles of wet trails. Sadly, I had to return these shoes because the tongue has a new design that is extremely uncomfortable. The new tongue is a thin, rubbery material that has no padding. In addition, the tongue has an asymmetrical cut that dug into my ankle. There's no way these shoes would be comfortable enough for the miles that I would put on them. So disappointing. Please bring back the old tongue, Hoka!

I should have known when they were final sale that the design would be off. The waterproofing made them stiff and plastic and even at half a size bigger they gave me blisters on the end of my toes. I would have returned them if I could.

I expected a Hoka waterproof sneaker. This show doesn't even show the HOKA name on it. It is heavy and clunky and was returned immediately.

I love Hoka's Clifton line, but I needed a pair for rainy days/snowy/slippery terrains. Found this shoe and bought it at full price to give it a try. It was a bit tight so I thought I had to stretch it out first by wearing it more like the other comments mentioned. I didn't have any issue with the tongue, but this shoe was absolutely uncomfortable for long term wear. I've been trying to wear it since I purchased it at the beginning of October. I even used a shoe stretcher, hoping to break into the shoe, but that didn't work either. It was absolutely too tight and within less than an hour of walking, the side of my feet were in pain. Now I have a shoe that will sadly just sit there for display because I'm no longer within the return window. If you have wide feet, probably opt out of this line until they create a wide version.

First, the tongue of the shoes is thin and caused abrasion on the front of my ankles on a short run. Secondly, the shoe fits narrower than in the past and is not the comfortable design that I've worn in the past. I sadly returned the shoes. I've worn (Speedgoat, Mafate and Challenger) Hokas for the past 10 years and am sad to see the design changes in their key trail running shoes.

This shoes didn't work as waterproof. I went on a hiking trip and the days that rained my feet got completely wet.

Beautiful shoes thats why I purchase them & sent money I dont have as being a senior on limit funds but I needed a good walking shoes, these are not good walking shoes. I walk 6 miles a day. The first & only time wearing these, I ended up with a heel blister, burse by ankle bone, & right thong cut my shin & burse it too. All with good socks on. I have pictures of my injury's. Its my fault for buying wrong shoes, love Hoka

Picture this - day one on a 100km trip. Have had Hokas before but these didn't fit right for my needs. Had to scrap using these and hike with a set of running shoes I brought. I so wanted these to work.
