Customer Reviews New Balance Kids 680v6 Bungee (Little Kid/Big Kid)

We got these mid- July for my 8 year old son, and 6 weeks later they are ripping apart around the toe area. I need to order him a new pair for school, and will be getting a different brand. Bummer - for the price I expected them to last longer!

My 6 yo loved these for both style and comfort, but they were not durable, and unfortunately had a serious defect. Both shoes tore on the side where the shoe creases roughly 1 month after purchasing. May have been a fluke with this particular pair, but I've opted for a different model to replace. I'm a big new balance fan, but these were a miss.

These are suppose to be wide width but I could not get my little boys foot in them even though I had the right size!

Poor quality-- sides tore within three months. Velcro strip "topper" came detached making it very frustrating for my son to work on his own. I'm pretty surprised as NB are our favorite brand for our wide footed son.

These shoes were great but only for less than 3 months of wear. Not even worn daily but the mesh was starting to shred on the shoe. I have never purchased shoes for my children and this happen. Hoping it was just a fluke.

My son and I really wanted to love these shoes. I've had good luck with New Balance shoes before but this pair is falling apart after 2 months. My son only wears them on weekends and after school and they already have holes in multiple places on the top. I'm so sad! He really liked them and now we have to find new shoes.

I got my son these for Christmas and the first pair the stitching was undone on the toe. The second pair started to fall apart within a couple of weeks and not the part on the top of the Velcro has come unstitched. The sole is still in very good shape.

Disappointed in these shoes. We always buy New Balance for my son because he has wide feet and they usually hold up well. After only a month of wear, he’s gotten big holes on both sides of both shoes from his feet pressing against them. We even bought wide width. Will be looking for a different brand that holds up better.

I bought these April 11 and my son has a huge hole in them a little over two weeks later. New Balance fit him the best; but durability especially this kind hasn’t been good. We have bought several pairs of New Balance over the years.

These are not the "extra wide" from bygone days. Not even "wide" IMO. Donated to Goodwill.

I just noticed a big flaw and pet peeve with kids shoes--it lacks a good tongue keeper loop to prevent the tongue from getting pushed into the shoe. You know how kids jam their feet into the shoe, and the tongue gets smashed inside...; every little bit helps get them going.

My son plays hard, and New Balance has always held up. However, the Velcro on this pair of shoes came apart after only 3 months of wear. And the overall quality of these shoes didn’t measure up compared to previous New Balance purchases.

This shoe was VERY good but the insoles kept popping out. Sure enough one got lost within a week of our getting the shoes. So now that we have no insole I can’t give it more than one or two stars. Really disappointed. My son was bummed because he really loved the shoes and we wasted the money.

These shoes fell apart after three weeks! Horrible-horrible quality of black mesh fabric. Please return the previous fabric as this is big waste of money. We stick to NB extra wide for years and this is the first time the fabric tore on both shoes around the toe area.

My son loved these shoes when they arrived - they fit true to size and were comfortable. However after 2 months of normal, everyday wear a large hole ripped along the side mesh on one of the shoes. After a few more days of wear (hoping it wouldn't get any worse too quickly), an even bigger, gaping hole formed on the top of the same shoe, showing through to his sock, and rendering the shoes completely unwearable. Definitely will not buy these again and very disappointed in the quality especially for the price.

My son LOVED the style of this shoe and said they were so comfortable, but wore them to tatters in 3 months flat. The mesh did not hold up at all. I don't mind buying shoes if a kid outgrows them or a kid wearing through a shoe before it can be passed along to their sibling. That happens all the time. I *am* annoyed when I have to buy new shoes for the same size for the same kid. Booooooo, New Balance!

My 5 year old boy tore these up after only 2 weeks of wear. He says he has just been wearing them on the playground, and his teachers say they haven't seen him do anything strange, so I have to trust he's just been wearing them. I will not be buying these again.

Shoes had massive holes 6 weeks after purchase.

My kid was delighted with the color and feel of these shoes. Sadly he wore holes in them within 3 months. Fail, New Balance. Do better.

Had these shoes for a month and there are holes in the fabric on both shoes where my son's pinky toes stick out. He isn't even hard on shoes and they have been inside mostly because of the weather!

These shoes are very cute and very comfy. HOWEVER, we got them at Christmas, and it’s now March 9 and they are unwearable. The mesh almost immediately got holes and now it’s just ridiculous that I’m having to replace them already. I bought them because other NB sneakers have lasted us through multiple children.

My son liked these shoes, but we received them on January 5th, and he came home from school on February 24th with a large rip across them. The lace area ripped apart from the fabric. We've never had shoes rip in this area before, especially within less than two months of wear.

My son has been wearing these for one month and they are completely ripping apart in multiple places. We've been ordering New Balances for years for him, and it seems like the quality has gotten worse and worse over time. Still, I never imagined they would have complete holes after a month. I do not recommend these shoes. What a waste of $40.
