These shoes lasted about 4-5 months before the velcro detached and were no longer usable. My son could not tighten his shoes and the velcro strap just hung loosely. :-/ Disappointed. As far as comfort goes, my 6 year old was amazed at how his comfortable his new Asics were, which leads me to believe these New Balances were of average comfort (and less comfortable than Asics).

We had to return these because my 11-yo couldn’t get past issues with the tongue and the Velcro when he was trying them on.

Top mesh area is ripping after 4 months use.

Very disappointed in these shoes, quality of new balance has decreased tremendously. Unfortunately, my son wore these for about a month before they started to fall apart everywhere. The seams started coming apart, holes in the mesh part of the shoe at the front and the back, just not what I expected. This was for a 4yo, so he wasn’t doing any major activities in them, just daily wear on rotation with other shoes. But Zappos was great, helped with picking out a new pair.

My son loves these shoes but unfortunately after a few months of wear they have to go to the garbage. The rubber is flapping off and is unsafe to wear. The rest of the shoe looks great and they still fit. What a waste of money.

sad truth about these “z shoes” as my 4yo calls them. they rip in a matter of a couple of weeks. with normal activities like running on the playground and wearing them to school, the mesh part in the front of the foot rips. they simply come apart. I expect more from new balance. thankfully Zappos came to the rescue and gave me a refund. I will now look more carefully at the shoes I’m buying, new balance has really let me down with the lack of quality.

These were great! He wore them almost daily for 3 weeks! Unfortunately, after 3 weeks, the shoes came apart! We really loved these while they lasted tho! Wanted to replace with the same shoe even, sadly they are no longer available in our size. Zappos is great, refunded the shoes.

Have ordered these several times for my grandson but very disappointed that strap broke after several months

These shoes look nice and my son loves the color red. But I bought them only 5 months ago and they are falling apart. First the front of the shoe started coming unglued and now there is a hole in the mesh part over the toes. I don’t expect them to last forever, but it would be nice to get at least a year out of them.

Fits my son well. Issue is that the shoe started coming apart within a couple of weeks. It is okay for now, but it does not look like it will last as long as a shoe of this supposed quality should.

The shoes were too short.

My son said these sneakers are comfortable but the velcro on one shoe fell apart after wearing less than a few months.

Should have listened to the other reviews. The mesh on top of this shoe is not durable at all, so now my kid has duct tape in four spots to try to keep the holes in the mesh from spreading.

Cute shoe, but ripped apart on the sides pretty quickly.

My son loved these shoes but they were destroyed with holes throughout the top of the toe area in 2 months. I don’t think he’s overly hard on shoes so I’m very surprised at the lack of durability of New Balance. I would not recommend.

After a couple of months of wearing, the mesh part on both shoes ripped, similar to others. We have bought this style multiple times previously, but the quality on this pair is poor.

Comfy shoes, but they fell apart. Holes ripped in both shoes along the side, and the velcro came off one of the straps. Granted, my son has worn the shoes for 6 months, but I've never had a pair of New Balance shoes literally fall apart.

Comfortable and true to size, but the fabric started to wear and tear after only a month after purchase.

I have bought many new balance kids shoes and these wore out within a couple months. I was very disappointed in these which I've never had before.

My 4YO son has only worn these shoes for 2 months and they already have rips along the outside edge of both shoes where the mesh material meets the "leather" section. Very disappointing for $50 sneakers.
