Not as comfortable as the Horizon style.

I have been wearing the Wave Inspire shoe for many many years and loved them! But this latest version that I received a few weeks ago is even shorter in the toe than previous versions and I'm not sure I'm even going to be able to wear them. I'm very disappointed about this as they have made all the walking I do so much more comfortable. I wish I could still find a pair of the 15 to order. The next half size up has always been too big in a variety of ways.

I ordered the same size as the wave inspired 15, but the fit was very different. I historically wore regular, but had to get a wide last on the last version. This version the wide is too wide in the toe box area. However, I tried the regular and it was too tight in the arch. I am not sure what I will do. I am extremely disappointed with the inconsistent sizes between versions and the short laces.
Also, I find that it has less support in the ankle. The lace are weirdly positions too. I might need to order a regular and hope that it works.

Aside from the fact that the toe box had changed from the other versions it is a great shoe. Unfortunately I had to return them because my right toe hit the end, but another size up would have been sloppy on my foot. I didn't want to chance paying Return shipping for another pair.

I've bought the wave inspire in the past and I use it mainly for street running. The wave inspire 16 is a different feel from the previous wave inspires. I don't personally like the change, but I've had them too long now to change them out.

The salesperson said that the wave D was a wide shoe but unfortunetly they did not fit. Be sure to read about their return policy that tells you you need to pay for the return that cost 18 dollars . Poor customer service never buy again there.

I am a loyal Mizuno customer. I agree the wave 17 does not match up to the 16, The support and fit is not as snug, especially in the upper sole area.

I have been wearing the Mizuno wave inspire for almost 10 years. I go thru 2-3 pairs a year. I have narrow, flat feet and walk 5-10 k a day. The Wave Inspire 16 was SO PAINFUL on my feet, calves, shins, and knees the first day I wore them. Tightening the laces and wearing thick socks reduce the pain, but the sneakers are VERY UNCOMFORTABLE if I am doing more than 5k. Not sure if I got a bad pair or if Mizuno changed something. I also ordered the knit Wave Inspire 16 and those are AMAZING!!! I have alternated this pair with the knit and my old Wave Inspire 14 and there is no pain... So it isn’t due to injury. Only pain wearing these sneakers. Is it too late to return or exchange them?

I feel its seriously lacking in forward foot cushion and arch support. Good heel cushion.

I am a HUGE fan of the Wave Inspire 15 and was bummed I did not buy multiple pairs. The 16's did not work well for me at all. Unfortunately returned them. I run about 15-20 miles a week (road runs) and I felt it difficult to even lift my feet with these shoes. Hopefully I find a better shoe to run in soon!

I have and love the Inspire 15, but the Inspire 16 gave me a blister on the back of my heel. The fit feels smaller overall from the 15. Bummer.

These run small and narrow and don't come in wider widths. I usually try to buy a wide shoe, but sometimes can be comfortable in a B width if the shoe has a roomy cut. That's NOT these shoes. It also has a very noticeable heel cup/collar that was gripping my heel so aggressively I found moderately uncomfortable after just a couple minutes. But if you have narrow feet and narrow heels and you need extra heel support, this may be just the shoe for you.

I've worn the 13th and 15th updates of these shoes, and loved them both. I decided to go ahead and order a pair of the 16s. This update doesn't have nearly the amount of arch support that the previous models had. My arches haven't been a problem for me in 13 years of running and I've never noticed my arches before running in this shoe. At the end of 5 miles in these shoes, my arches actually ache. I don't know what you did to the mid-foot of this shoe, but it doesn't work for me.
This version also feels clunky, less cushioned, heavy, and un-responsive compared to the previous model, especially in the heel area.
I bought half a size up, as I've had to do with the last few Inspire updates, and the sizing is consistent with the previous model.
I run roughly 42 miles a week, and I've been using the previous versions of the Inspire for my long runs, but I won't run any further than 6 in these, and I can't use them for speed workouts the way I could the previous versions.
Generally, this is an inferior and uncomfortable update. Please undo the changes you've made, they've made this a very undesirable product.

They are really ugly. I would be ok with that if they were as good as my previous mizuno running shoes but they do not hold up. Not a fan

No as comfortable as past wave inspire. Plus, for some reason these dig in the back of my heels. Never had that issue with Mizunos before.

I have been running in the Wave Inspire for around 5 years. Or let's say I started with #4. I do not like the new toe box on the 16. It got pointier. Also the lacing across the ball of the foot seems to have shifted and pinches my foot when it flexes. It feels as if the whole shoe is a half size smaller now. I don't know if it's the fly knit but the #16 shoe is entirely different and I am sad that I might have to move away from my trusty Wave Inspire!

I have been running in the wave inspire for many years. I wear a size 7. This shoe is narrow, stiff and runs very small. I loved the 15. Bought three pairs. What makes this even more difficult is that I can't return these shoes until Fleet Feet can open its doors. So I'm out the money and out a running shoe.

I have been wearing the Wave Inspire shoe for at least 7 years now, and have never had a problem with them. With the different upper in this version, the shoe fits much smaller than usual. I have always been a size 8.5 in past versions, however in the new version an 8.5 is very tight. Would recommend sizing up another 1/2 or even full size.

I am so bummed they changed this shoe. The new design has a seam in the back ankle/heel area. It gave me a blister immediately.

I have purchased many pairs of Mizuno inspire shoes but the 16 model is the first one I have had issue with. Something in the heal design of this shoe wore through the inside of the shoe with in one month causing something to rub on my heal area and it was so painful to even walk in the shoes let alone run. I don't know if I got a faulty pair if it it is the slight change in the heal design saying that I am very leary to by the newer models and keep trying to find the 15 model

These shoes have been drastically changed from the earlier versions. I LOVED the previous Wave Inspires and recommended them to everyone I knew. I couldn't even finish my run in this pair. Even though these were wides, the sides of my toes and foot rubbed against them. It felt like my little toes were spilling over the sides of the soles. I wished I would have read the reviews rather than just relying on experience with the previous versions. I hope Mizuno will go back to the previous design.

I was really looking forward to receiving my running shoes but unfortunately although they were ordered in the right size they fit a size smaller than all others I am very disappointed and will be returning them.

I have been wearing Wave Inspires for years now and have purchased various models with no issues--UNTIL NOW. Wave Inspire 15 was fantastic. For some reason the 16 model wore out within a few weeks--losing support and generally just not holding up for longer runs. I am super disappointed. PLEASE FIX IN THE NEXT RELEASE!! I will be switching until this is fixed.
