I have been wearing Wave inspire for at least two years. The new version - Wave Inspire 16 felt very different from the previous versions. Especially in the toe box. The material also felt different. I will be looking for a new running shoe or the previous Wave Inspire 15.

I love Mizuno Wave Inspire shoes. Or, I used to. This latest model, 16, is substandard. The foot bed has far less cushion (I swap out between my 15s and this new one), and I got a blister 2 miles into my first run in them. I have worn the Inspire for over 5 years, and now feel the need to find a new shoe. Very disappointed in this shoe. Minor note- the color choices are awful and the new laces even worse. Please, Mizuno, you can do better.

Glad I read the reviews that suggested ordering 1/2 size up on these; I did, and they fit perfectly. I developed plantar fasciitis last year, and struggled to walk without pain. A PT suggested I get fitted at a running shoe store (where I learned I over-pronated, would benefit from a higher stability shoe, and actually need a smaller shoe size but wider).... and this shoe was the brand that met all those criteria. This is now my 3rd purchase and I wear these all day long, every day, and can walk again. The Wave Inspire 16 is great, just as good as the 15..... but yes, order up 1/2 size.

I am 66 years old. I am training for a mini-marathon. I have worn the wave inspire Mizuno shoe to run in for many years. I never have any injuries or issues with anything hurting. I also have done a lot of hiking. Many times I just wear this shoe because it is supportive and comfortable. I also walk dogs at the local shelter. I wear my well worn mizunos for dog walking.

This shoe is cut really narrow in the toe, at least for my personal taste and comfort in running. Sadly, I had to return this pair. Perhaps this information on the narrower toe area is included in the description somewhere and I missed it. All I know is, compared to my last pair of Mizuno's, this model is quite narrow in the toe.

I love my Mizuno Wave Inspire 15 shoes and needed a new pair so i ordered these and was so incredibly disappointed. They completely changed the look and feel of this shoe. the tongue has no cushion and digs into your foot painfully. The toe no longer has any protection or support. They are also more narrow and cut into the edges of my foot. If you are looking to replace your Wave inspire 15s, AVOID these shoes.

I LOVE my inspires and have been running in them for many years but this update made both feet fall asleep and go numb with pain. I got them in my usual size. Tried a half size up but it felt sloppy and hit my arch weird. So disappointing.

I run 6 miles a day and this is my daily runner shoe. It has been for 4 years. I switched from Brooks as these simply felt lighter and more ergonomically suiting to my pronation. At the end of a long day, I would not have sore feet like I did in my Brooks for some reason. It's solid in stability and has kept me injury free.

Mizuno shoes are so comfy and have great quality. These are my second pair of Mizuno shoes and they make running a lot easier with all the cushioning and support. My first pair, I wore everywhere. At work (I'm on my feet constantly) and when I'm at the gym.

I love the looks of these shoes and am breaking them in. This is my 7th pair of the Wave Inspire Line. These shoes do seem to fit a bit snugger than my last 6 pairs of this line, even though they are the same size. I would definitely buy this product again but I would size up by a half in this shoe. (Just the Wave Inspire 16 line...other Wave Inspire Models have fit perfectly.)

I love these like I have loved every pair over the past 15 years! One flaw...the shoelaces, they are a bit too short snd very thin. Hence the 4 stars instead of 5.

I agree with other reviewers that this generation of the Wave Inspire is not an improvement. So sorry that after finding, and wearing for several years, a great shoe that saved my feet it’s no longer going to work for me. Fortunately I have been able to find version 15 on Amazon.Alas, those won’t be available for long, so I snatched a couple of pairs.

I have worn the Mizuno Wave Inspire for over 15 years. The 16 version is so different that it hurts my toes and must be returned.

I have been running in Wave Inpires for the past 6 or so years. This one is great as usual. However, I ordered the "cloud grey/snow white" color but instead of grey the shoe has a strong lilac color. I would have never ordered this color if this had been clearer from the picture or the description. At least I will be running more now to be able to order a better color for me sooner.

I have been a 10 year + wearer of Mizunos, making the switch from Nirvana to Inspire when nirvana was disco'd. The inspires were my perfect shoe - 12, 13, 14, and 15 all were so comfortable, no inserts needed, no blisters, bruising etc. This year I got the Inspire 16, and they immediately felt different. The upper toe box is significantly narrower, and I now have black toenails and blood blisters popping up any run longer than 3 miles. I also do not feel support any arch support whatsoever, and started getting pain in my heels when running. I did solve this with a pair of Superfeet inserts - but to spend more money on inserts for the upgraded shoe seems silly, when I never needed these before. The inserts help my arch/heel pain, but I still have issues with the toebox. If I went up a size, I'd be swimming in the length, as I already go 1.5 sizes up vs my dress shoe. I hope Mizuno reverts back to a closer model like the 12 - 15 wave inspires.

So disappointed. I am an over pronater and after a few runs my left foot arch started swelling. Switched back to my 15’s and it went away. While the 16’s are cushy, they just didn’t offer the same support as the other models. Luckily I was able to fine a few pairs of new 15’s. So bummed.
I'd also recommend:

I'm kind of pissed. The shoe is great, but for $160 you can't give me a shoe lace that is long enough to go through all the loops and tie at the top? Seriously?

Better width in the toebox, not as supportive as previous models or as responsive. This is the first Mizuno update that made my feet go numb during a run and I've run in multiple Mizuno models for over 7 years

I run a lot of miles and this has been the shoe I have used for years. It's sad there aren't many color choices in this women's shoe in wide.
