I really like the wider toe bed, however, they seem to push my feet more toward the outside. I like the support when standing, but not sure they are right for me! I like the '19, but wish they had the toe bed that the 20 does

I really wish I had ordered a half size bigger, but I've had several pairs of Ariel's & have always ordered the same size. Not sure what is different, but my toes hurt in these.

Love Brooks AND Ariel - but '20 definitely runs smaller than Ariel 18.

I love the shoe for its fit and comfort, but the fabric on 20 frayed too quickly.

Memory foam insole caused plantar fasciitis, insole of Ariel 18 much more supportive than Ariel 20 model.

I ordered these to try and mitigate my plantar fasciitis. I have worn Brooks for years and love them, but found these to be too squishy without feeling like they were adding more padding between my heel and the road. I especially did not feel they were worth the extra expense.

I have worn Brooks Ariel?s for years and they have always been excellent. Exceptional. This new pair is not the same. The material and construction seem inferior and they offer less support than what I have come to rely on from the Ariel. I?m sorry for the decline in quality.

Shoelaces are too stretchy. My foot feels stable inside, but I don't like the toe box material.

These seemed to have a lower toe box than previous Ariels but my biggest concern is that Brooks seems to be cheaping out on us, which is not okay in a shoe in this price range. Last year's Ariel had a cuff that did not wear well. Compared to previous years, the Ariel '20 has much less plastic reinforcement and embellishment in the forefoot. Maybe this is an attempt to make the shoe lighter but I can already tell it is not going to hold up as well. Having the forefoot be all mesh takes away some of the structure of the shoe. Most people who choose this shoe have foot issues so I hope they will be careful when making changes.

I was a little unhappy with the Ariel 20 verses the Ariel 18. The 18 had a small strip of vinyl, around the outside of the toe area. That strip protected the toe and was easy to clean, when running in grass or dirt trails, by just wiping off. Removing that small vinyl strip leaves the mesh fabric exposed and the light oyster color is difficult to keep looking clean. The back of the shoe always folds inward when I put them on. I will be looking at a different shoe in the future. The shoes are comfortable. I have purchased many pairs of Ariel shoes.

The wide toe bed makes the fit comfortable and the longer laces are appreciated. I need support around my ankles - this new design does not provide that. I have to look for a new shoe. So wish I had bought an extra pair of the Ariel 18.

I am dissatisfied with the heal, you can't put it on without the heal rolling in. Even with the laces very loose it still rolls. It is comfortable, and i like the wide base.

I had to return them. I had foot surgery & am struggling to find a pair of shoes . After getting out of my surgical boot-the pandemic was in full swing. No stores open to try shoes. These are correctly sized as XX WIDE. The shoes didn’t fit properly & were quite “bubbly” if that makes sense! Love Zappos-they are amazing:-)

I normally wear a size 9 1/2, my toes were bumping against the tip. Otherwise, felt very good, excellent cushioning for painful heels, will try the half size larger.

I really wanted this shoe to work - it was highly rated. It didn’t provide the arch support I need - even with super feet. Brooks is a great brand. I am searching for another shoe bc I wore New Balance 860 v8 and v9 for years. However, the New Balance 860 v10 has many issues - thin collar on the heel being the biggest for me - it’s like NB cheapened the overall shoe to thicken the sole. NB 860 v10 is not for long runs. I really wish the Brooks Ariel had worked out. The search for a new shoe continues. Zappos is the best!

Disappointing, I got these for Mother's Day gift from my daughter & they are being returned, as they didn't work with my orthopedic inserts, they fitted but they made a squeaky noise. I being using Ariel 16 for a few years, haven't had any problems, till the new styles came out. Also they run a little big in my opinion, I been using 7.5 D & these new ones were loose. Hopefully the new addiction shoes are better. I'm not a runner, but walk everyday about 3 miles.

The reason I rated it so low is because it just didn't fit. I ended up going to a retail store and did buy Brooks running shoe. I needed a larger size so bought a mens 10 in Ghost in a wide and it fit well. I think I just needed to try it on. As I have gotten older my feet have changed. I still will purchase Brooks.

I have problem feet. Wish Zappos offered better search capabilities for wide toe box, cushiony arch support, etc. , and include sizing in reviews. I ordered these in a wide but next extra wide. Of course the extra wide is not available in my size. I hoped these would be a keeper as several of the New Balance I've tried won't work but these are going back too --- toes are too squished to be comfortable and especially for all day wear in the garden.

I love Brooks shoes as they are the few I can get wide enough to house my orthotics but it seems the quality is beginning to lack. I bought this pair 6 months ago, do not wear during the day, 5 days a week (I have to wear business appropriate shoes in my office) and already there is a hole in the top of the toe of the shoe. The material itself has ripped, nothing I did to tear it. This isn't the 1st time a pair of shoes I've gotten has fallen apart well before they should. Very disappointing.

I've worn Ariels for many years. These started breaking down after 3 1/2 months. The toe box never felt quite right, with a rub on my big toes. I just chalked it up to lack of quality control since they also came in an unmarked box.
