I have been wearing Brooks Ariel shoes for years. I could not wear anything else to walk or run because my arch would flatten, which would trigger foot pain. So, the Books Ariel shoes solved my problem, the shoes were a dream. But recently, the shoes are not the same. They have deteriorated The last pair of Ariel I bought don't have the same arch support nor the cushion that all the prior pairs had. I also bought a pair of Adrenaline for short distances, which I can only wear to go to the grocery store, those have even less support than the Ariel. I expected that but not to that degree. So, I am very disappointed, not only the price of the shoes is higher but the quality doesn't compare with the quality I am used to from Brooks!!!

They fit well and were comfortable but the collar around the heel was very thick and puffy and would roll down in the shoe when I pulled them one so I had to return them.

I usually buy ghost but gave these a try. Too narrow even though I ordered a wide width. Exchanging them for ghost.

Not so great. No arch support. Little bit too soft and mushy.

I have worn Ariel running shoes for years. My orthopedic recommended them. I loved the 2016-now. I don?t like the wider toe box. It also seems like they have less cushion. I have tried to find the older model, but no such luck. For the cost, I think you guys missed the mark.

I ordered a 9.5 EE and was sent a D width. So, I had to return them.

I have used the Brooks Ariel exclusively since 2014. I am a believer in them for foot, ankle, and knee support. But the Ariel 20 is in my opinion is not of the same quality as previous models. The support doesn't seem to be as good, the tongue is shorter, which makes it more difficult to put the shoe on without a lot of tugging on the tongue. Also the back half of the sole doesn't seem to have as much material in height of the sole, which puts more stress on the knees and ankles. I feel that the company may be cutting back in the quality of this excellent shoe.

I anticipated the new design after 3 years of Ariels that frayed along the inner ankle cushion of the right shoe and ordered both the gray and the black. Unfortunately, the new shoes began to fray in the same way as the older ones. This never happened until there was a design change about 3 years ago, and I've been buying Brooks since about 1994. I hope that someone will fix this shortcoming, because the shoe fits and does its job, but looks unsightly after a couple of weeks' wear.

Ariel is lighter than the Ariel 18, and feels a little more cushioned as well. But does seem to lack some of the stability the the Ariel 18 provided, 18's, I could wear without extra arch support, not so with the Ariel 20.

These shoes were comfortable when I first put them on, but I can't keep them on. They don't seem to have the support that I need. They seem to turn my feet inwards which is exactly what I don't want! Are they still considered "motion control?" However, I am nursing a foot and ankle injury right now so I'm not sure that I should write a review until my foot heals.

These shoes are incredibly comfortable. No adjustment period needed. Unfortunately I had an issue when a hole developed after less than 2 months of use. It was near where my big toe is. I was able to get a replacement pair and am hoping this won't happen again. It's almost like there is a flaw in the design where there isn't the same thickness around the toe area. Keeping my fingers crossed because I really love these shoes.

I decided to try these after 2 pairs of Glycerines. I have found them very comfortable. The soles are holding up fantastically. My last pair of Glycerin style had felt as if the outside surfaces on both feet had begun to compress. I can definitely tell the difference when I put the old shoes on to do work in my yard. Unfortunately though, holes have developed above my big toes - on both feet - after only 4 months or so. I usually expect to get more wear than that from a shoe this expensive. But they do continue to be very comfortable for my daily walks.

I just bought my brooks at the end of July, while I find them comfortable I am disgusted that just three months later my toes has gone through the fabric. I walk 5 km five time a week. They were not cheap, and for this reason I will not be recommending them.

This is probably my 6th pair of the Ariel and the quality is not what it has been in previous versions. The sides are wearing and the material is breaking down within just a few months of use which has not been the case in previous ones

They are confortable but I feel like my feet goes to the front because the inclination and my feet hurts. There is good cushion, so is good for my plantar fasciitis. But again, sometimes it hurts my feet badly on the front.

I am not a runner, but I have worn Brooks Ariel for exercise for years because of the shoe's superior motion control qualities. The past models were super heavy, and it was like walking on bricks, and they were also ugly, to be honest, but they held my feet firm, I didn't wobble, and my ankles felt secure. They were perfect right out of the box and I had no shin splints from jogging and no foot pain of any kind. However, this most recent model was a disappointment for me. The good news is that the Ariel 20 is a few ounces lighter than previous models, and better looking to be sure, and even more cushioned than before. BUT the bad news is that the new guide-rails on the side of the shoes didn't do the job for me. I wobbled and my ankles did not feel secure. The previous model's sturdy heel cup and internal roll bar mechanism are what made the shoe work for people with flat feet who weight over 180 pounds. This new model feels more like a stability shoe, not a motion control shoe. What is really sad about this is that there are few other brands to be found with the features heavier people with flat feet need. To find what I need to be comfortable, I will need to look to independent vendors online. Too bad.

I was looking for a pair of shoes that would not cause pain and discomfort. These are not comfortable for me. I have not found a pair of sneakers that has been comfortable, yet.

The running shoes were too short. I wear a 7.5 W in GTS 20 but these did not fit the same. I ended up returning them.

Somewhat disappointed in this purchase. I always buy 8 1/2 w but these are not quite long enough. When I walk in them my toes are pushed up to the very top which is not comfortable. I don’t know if a 9 would be too big or not. ?

Bought these as a replacement for my Ariel 14. These are much lighter and don’t have the same level of support. All in all I prefer the older model

The Ariel seem to be good but I do feel a change in them compared to the Ariel 18 unfortunately. The 18 seemed to have more support than these , these feel flatter and not as supportive. I'd live to see the Ariel 18 come back though.
