Great shoe! So much softer and more flexible than the older torins. Had switched over to Altra escalantes but didn't like the new version so gave these a try again- I feel bouncy when I run. I wear an 8-8.5 in running shoes, 7.5-8 in regular shoes and the 8 felt right.

These shoes are amazing! --Plenty of cushion for running on pavement --Responsive --Super light --No rubbing on my heel or ankle --Plenty of space for my toes --Zero drop is so much better than having an elevated heel --Upper is soft, comfortable, and holding up well Sizing: I'm usually a women's 9 (men's 7.5) and my foot width is pretty normal (maybe a tad wide), but the women's 9 felt narrow around my arch and the ball of my foot, and a little short in the pinky-toe region. There are no wide sizes so I swapped for a men's 8 (up half a size and wider), and they fit very well.

I no longer run, but I'm a fan of these shoes. I went to our local running store in search of a shoe that would relieve my chemo-induced neuropathy in my feet. I have been wearing a competitor's shoe that was wide in the toe box and lower in the heal thus relieving the pressure on the balls of my feet where the neuropathy was worse. The competitor changed their shoe this year, and they fit differently. The sales clerk listened to my needs and directed me to the Torin. These shoes fit as if they were made for my feet. (I have a narrow foot.) The cushioning is soft, but firm enough to give me the support I need. I wore them for a week straight and then went back and ordered a second pair. I definitely recommend others with neuropathy try a pair at their local running store.

I've been on a steady search for this type of toe box shape, something that actually is made for the true and natural human foot form! Hallelujah, my search is over!

This is my new favorite Altra and I’ve worn them all (Timp, Escalante, Lone Peak, Superior, etc.)! I am on my 7th pair of Lone Peaks, but I love this shoe even more. I use the Lone Peak for trails and this new Torin for running on hard surfaces. I’ve tried previous versions of the Torin and did not like any of them. This version (Torin 4) gets everything right. Just enough cushion to soften my heel strike, but not so much that I can’t feel the ground. I love the stability too. Previous versions felt too tippy. The mesh is breathable. And as a bonus, it looks so much better than previous versions.

I was drawn to wide toe box as I have bunions. I went to a 9 when I normally wear 8 shoe size. I had been a Brooks lover for years until these. I feel like I could fly! I felt no need for break in period. Tried other styles but Torin 4 is my absolute favorite. Bought all 3 colors!!

This is my second pair of Torins, and I LOVE this shoe. I am super picky about what goes on my feet, and these are worth every penny. I bought my first pair 2 years ago on a suggestion from my brother (the only shoe that felt heavenly during my pregnancy), and I can't find a shoe yet to beat the Torin. Love the cushion, wide toe box, and the fact I can put them on immediately with zero need to break them in. I purchased the Escalante in the spring and loved it as well, but I found I prefer the cushion of the Torin. I can wear them on a 12 hour shift at work and not have miserable legs and feet at the end of the day. I am a moderate runner, and I no longer have lower back issues after wearing these. I love the 30 day trial period, but these aren't going back!

I really love these shoes! Two years ago I fractured a metatarsal, so I've had to be careful about footwear. Since healing I had to run barefoot or use zero drop shoes to avoid pain. I'm so thankful for these shoes because they allow me to run on pavement comfortable, which is very convenient. 10/10. They're also very well made, many of the details impressed me

I am a walker and work week jogger of about - miles a week. I owned a pair of Torins a couple of years ago and like them but chose to "try" other shoes since then. I purchased the 4.0 three weeks ago from our local Fleet Feet and have worn them on walk/jogs since. I will NEVER "try" another brand of shoes again! They felt absolutely fabulous as soon as I put them on and my feet feel so good from start to finish no matter the distance.

I'm not a runner and had never heard of Altra until I was at PT last week and my therapist had on a pair of the Torin 4's. She was raving about how comfortable they were and let me try hers on. I usually wear a 9 in athletic shoes but her 8.5 fit perfectly. Went home and ordered a pair which arrived yesterday. Put them on my feet and took my dog out for a brisk walk and I loved them! They were so lightweight I hardly knew I had shoes on! No rubbing anywhere either. I have bunions but no pressure on them. I'm a fan. Now I need the plum/coral ones!

I was an NCAA athlete (tennis). My feet took a pounding over the years. A recent re-injury put me on a hunt for the best athletic shoe ever. Found it! Incredible fit, comfort, support. I'm buying multiple pairs. I will live in these.

I love the Torin! The last model was way too narrow for my arch/mid foot. After a few wears of the new model, Altra seemed to fix that problem. I don't feel my arch pushing outside of the midsole any more. The cushion is great, my footstrike and push off are amazing. If I continue to have success with this model, I may buy more just in case Altra makes adjustments on the next.

I've had several models of Altra shoes over the last few years: Intuition , Solstice, Escalante, and Timp. Torin 4 is my favorite. Love the zero drop, roomy toe, lacing, cushioning, tread. I'm not a runner, but I walk considerable distances, and Torin works well with my bad feet!

In other Torin's I wore an 8.5 but in the new Torin 4, the 8 feels like the old 8.5. They are incredibly comfy right out of the box. No break in time needed. Shoe just feels so right! Thanks for making a perfect shoe Altra!!

I love Altra shoes, and have bought several styles. This pair wasn’t quite as cushiony as the Torin 4.5, but still very comfortable. There’s an unusual feature... the tongues are “connected” to the bottom of shoe... at the outer side, that I found awkward at first, but I have narrow feet and it almost made the fit better for that.

I got these shoes after having issues with narrow toe boxes in other running shoes. At first run, these are very comfortable and have a nice amount of cushion. However, I started to have arch pain as I adjusted to the zero drop. I added in a pair of Superfeet running insoles and this seems to have helped as I adjust.

Very pleased with these shoes! It's like walking on a cloud. They do run small but I was prepared for that and ordered a half size up. Works well with my plantar fasciitis. I will purchase more of this brand.

Super comfortable. Wore them while on my feet for 6 hours straight. They even felt good after a serious ankle injury. Not the most stylish sneaker. They have an orthopedic look to them, but the comfort is worth forgoing the style.

I've been running for many years in other brands and absolutely love this shoe. I will be buying it again and hope future models don't stray too far from the 4. I like the mechanism that locks my foot in the shoe - it is comfortable and feels secure across my tall arches without binding, rubbing, or doing anything bad to my feet. These shoes were comfortable out of the box and have served me well this year. I look forward to receiving another pair of the same!

I only wear Altra! I like the angled tie and the wide toe box. Always worth the money. Residing in AZ I need a shoe for the trails that also circulated air. My feet get hot after it hits 95 degrees.
I'd also recommend:
Only wear Altra
