I wore 4 models of the Brooks Glycerin, but after developing metatarsalgia and buying the latest model with pain during every running step, I sadly started the hunt for something new. I purchased the Brooks Ghost, Mizuno Wave Knit and had the same problem, realizing it’s the extremity cushioned but elevated heal of modern shoes. Hoka Clifton was ok, but didn’t feel quite accommodating. I decided to turn to zero drop and try the Altra Torin 4, and glad I did. Although I realize the drop, mildly sore calves, and super roomy toe box will get some getting used to, my foot did not hurt at all after my first run, and they got me excited to get back out there. If you have metatarsal or neuroma issues, be willing to give these a try.

Went from the Escalante to this new Torino and they feel great. Getting used to more of a cushion ride so some muscle fatigue in the beginning. Only complaint is the laces are a mile too long...why?! No one needs that much lace and it can get in the way. But overall I love this shoe!

These are very comfortable shoes out of the box - I couldn't take them off! Then I did a couple walks and a short jog in them over the course of 10 days and very quickly came down with agonizing ankle pain (in a formerly injured ankle) and painful shin splits on both sides. My lower legs are absolutely screaming at me as I type this unfortunately. I have had Altras before in the past (trail version) and have other zero-drop shoes, so I was shocked by how quickly this pain came on. I will stick with Hoka Cliftons for road runs.

This is my second pair of Torin 4's and my favorite of the 5 different Altra shoes I own. These look less like clown shoes than other Altra's and are just as comfortable. I bought the solid black with a turquoise sole and I love them. I wear a size 11 womens, so any shoe that makes my foot look smaller is a winner in my book. They have a lot of padding and even accommodate my moderate bunion on my left foot. I am on my feet all day for work, and these are the most comfortable shoes I own. Love, Love, Love my Torin 4's.

If you have arthritic feet/toes these are the shoe for you! They are replacing my HOKAs which provided great support but didn't allow my feet to roll as I run to compensate for the stiffness in my toe.

The absolute most comfortable shoes I have EVER ran in. I can’t believe I haven’t tried these before- I think the zero drop scared me when all the while was exactly what I needed!

I'm 64 and pretty active. This is my 3rd air of altras. Because of pain in the ball of my foot, I won't buy any other brand. They are so roomy and comfortable and allow me to continue to walk and hike as much as I want. Also, it is difficult to find something in a size 11 that doesn't look Frankenstein-ish. These particular altras look great!

I love the Torin. I am currently running in the Lone Peak 4 on trails, but wanted to run on pavement so chose Torin as it has good cushioning. I switched to zero drop shoes several months ago after years of wearing structured running shoes for over pronators. I did a few weeks of transitioning (I used Correct Toes to help my toes splay out properly) and I have never felt better and all of my running injuries have disappeared. Read up on zero drop before switching and ease into it!

I have a narrow instep and heel but a wide toe box. The last Torin's I had were the 2.5, and it had the wonderful wide toe box but my foot felt secure and snug in the instep and heel. I felt like I was sloshing around in this pair, and there was a lot of lateral movement in the shoe which just didn't work for me. The support within the shoe was great. For someone with a bit wider foot, it would probably be a wonderful shoe, but for me, the search for the right shoe will continue.

love this shoe! extremely comfortable, perfect for my wide toes & cushion is excellent. I have a neuroma & can't feel it all w/ these shoes. Only reason I'm returning is the color doesn't work for me. Will order the grey ones when my size is available.

OMG. My 67 year old size 12 M aching feet are very happy in these shoes. With a short, thin sport sock my feet like they are cradled all over firmly, but softly and I can even wiggle my toes without the tip of the shoe looking and feeling sloppy. Since I over pronate a great deal, I needed to add my Vionic 3/4 arch support insoles, but most people probably won't need them. the tongue is especially cushioning over my top of my foot that is very high. The lacing system is incredible it holds the each step during the lacing process. They are the most stable shoes I have ever worn and I will be very happy in them for walking and going to the gym. Altra really knows how to fit a woman's foot. (I'd love them in Navy blue and also White as well.)

LOVE Altra Zero Drop Shoes! I already have run in the Escalante and it's great but felt I need a tick more cushioning for high miles on asphalt - I am old and have no fat padding in my feet so they need a little more protection. The Torin provides just the right amount of cushioning but not too much. I also tried the Torin Plush which is nice but a little too squishy for me - more like a Hoka, ends up making my muscles more sore from the mushiness of the shoe. I normally wear an 8 in other running shoes but needed a 7.5 in all 3 styles of these Altras. Had to quit running due to knee soreness until I started with the Zero drop Altras, now I am back running half marathons with no sore knees. Running in shoes with high drops is like running in high heels for me and my knees. Back to flats and loving it! Do take some time to transition if you are use to a higher drop shoe. Your calves and lower leg muscles may get a little sore until you condition those muscles to the flatter style. But they'll end up happier for it!

Felt very large, especially in the heel area. I have worn size 10 Altra in the past; however, this size 10 is just too large. The size 9.5 feels almost like a good fit, except the toe box is too small. Very disappointed as Altra have been perfect shoes for me in the past.

I've had multiple pairs of various Already over the years, and these are an absolute nightmare. Plenty of toe box space, but the heel cup is enormous! Even locked down to do a 5k, my foot could not balance. These shoes are not meant for neutral runners - best for over pronators. I recycled the box and am seriously regretting that decision for the first time ever with a pair of Altras. Though I am in the the return window, I think I've lost out.

I love this and just came online to order a 2nd pair. I have issues... history of plantar asciitis, fractured (rolled) both ankles, and left knee issues. I feel 100% more secure in these shoes. I've never been able to figure out why we need a raised heel in a running shoe, it doesn't make any sense. I did try a couple other zero technology brands but i liked these better because I have a narrow heel and it rubbed in the other brands. First few wears it's a bit annoying to try to get your foot in there, but they quickly meld so you can put it on in no time yet your heel stays secure. Unclear why people are complaining about long laces, I'd much prefer a little too long and double knots than not long enough, so I thought the length was great. Might not be the case for all, but I had no adjustment time to zero tech. Once I tried them, I never took them off again. I do remember the first couple of days I felt muscles working in different/new ways, but it was a good working out, not a sore one. Highly recommend these shoes!

I am either a 9.5 or 10 in running shoes normally. In these, the 9.5 fit great. I ordered 6 pairs of running shoes (due to stores being closed currently) and these and the Under Armor HOVR Infinite 2 shoes were the winners. What stood out the most from these are they have a little less padding which was fine and it made them lighter. Although they also had less padding on the footbed/insoles but still felt more squishy than the others. I really liked both so I kept both since it's hard to find a shoe with enough padding for me, specifically in the forefront. With it's lightweight characteristics I feel like these may not last as long as the UA pair but I'm excited to start running in them. Asics were my go to but they stopped padding their shoes in the past couple of years. I had Hokas before these and they lasted only a few months before breaking down in the back of the shoe. I'm hoping Altra's are much better!

Great fit! I am a forefoot runner that typically runs in Merrel barefoot gloves but needed more support for road runs. These are awesome. I excited to have a new show company that I trust for quality running shoes that caters to my running style.

These are my new favorite running shoes. I've tried Hoka & Brooks, both were OK. But these Altra running shoes really just work for my feet. They feel light, but sturdy. They aren't heavy and they are really cute. I bought the coral and burgundy shoes and they are fun!

Love these shoes! The elastic band inside just snugs the shoe up to my foot so there are no gaps on the side. I put my orthotic in, put the shoes on and walked 11-15,000 steps 3 days in a row with no problems and no blisters. The zero gravity foot bed really helps allege my hip pain. And I love the wide toe box and being able to wiggle my toes! I just wish they had more color choices.

Did not care for the look of this shoe; seemed a bit clunky. Too much shoe for me, and the heel seemed to slip a bit, even with it being tied tightly. Definitely has good cushioning and arch support, though. If you want a zero drop with cushioning, this may be the shoe for you. I am Keeping the Escalante 2 which has a lot less shoe but seems to really fit better and almost hug my foot. Fits true to size. Hope the smaller amount of cushioning will be ok?

I really wanted to like these shoes. I'd heard great things about this brand and a zero toe drop with the rounded toe box. When I immediately put the shoes on I noticed how narrow the heel is underfoot. It felt uncomfortable and it almost felt like it was a size narrow instead of a normal width size. I also felt as though the shoes were half size too large. Unfortunately I'm not able to size down a half size as this brand does not carry 11 1/2 for this particular shoe. The idea of having a zero toe drop and more room in your toes for natural splaying is something I'm gravitating toward. Unfortunately this stylish shoe didn't work for me.

Like these shoes but discovered the right shoe is defective after I already wore them outside. The sole is tilted so all your weight falls on the arch side and you feel like part of ur foot hangs off the shoe. Thought maybe it was me but two of my friends confirmed the shoe is messed up. I’m waited to hear back from Altra.

Great shoes! Really comfortable. I need a wide toe box and this shoe has this. I normally wear 9 1/2 or 10 and I chose 10 and it was the right choice.

I wear 7 wide from the Hoka Clifton 6, but these were too short, even though the toe box is wide. I’m trying out the 7.5.
