These shoes while being very light and unconstructed are very supportive of your feet and provide great cushioning while walking. The soles provide great traction even on wet pavement.
The colors are very pleasing and blend well.

I bought these as a casual option instead of canvas shoes in the summer. I like the way they breathe and feel on my bare feet.

I'm a loyal Merrill fan for what seems like two decades now. I picked these up and just received them! Threw them on and perfect fit, super light and comfortable! Highly recommended! I don't typically write reviews but just had to say thank you to Linda who boxed up my shoes for shipment overseas (military). She wrote a wonderful note and slipped it in the shipment, we as military members appreciate the recognition and we are proud to serve! Thank you again Linda!

If ya can't stand a shoe that seem way too pointy at the toe,
If ya wonder why they heck it's so
Try a Merrell.
Simple design, good colors, fits my feet.

With wider feet and higher arch I was super surprised at how supportive and comfortable these are - especially given the minimalist styling. I purchase them for active exercise but also now wearing them for daily use.

Nice light shoe I use on trail training. Fairly thin sole helps prevent lateral movement when on side slants and gives good feedback from the terrain. Runs a little bit big - I purchased 1/2 size smaller than what I wear in most other brands of shoes but same size as my other Merrell shoes.

I purchased these shoes to run as my old Merrill's had finally worn out.

....but this shoe deserves the effort. I have a narrow heel and a wide forefoot, making shoe buying a tedious endeavor. This is one of the most comfortable shoes that I have ever worn. Period. My toes can splay, my heel is locked, and my forefoot fit likes a glove. It has the perfect amount of protection while somehow feeling like a barefoot shoe. I am a 12 in running shoes, this fit true to size. At first I thought it too big, but after walking around in it my fears were vanquished to the cheers of happy toes. Merrell, when you start the inevitable upgrade of this shoe, keep the changes to minimum please!

LOVE these shoes! They are perfect for running and also very comfortable for all-day walking shoes. I have a dedicated pair just for running errands, and another for actually running. I like these so much that I will likely get another pair as a backup.
I've used Bare Access and Road/Trail Glove shoes for years (bring back the Ultras!), and the XTRs have a lot in common with those shoes. The zero-drop is perfect for acclimated runners who want to have sensory feedback on both form and ground conditions.
Highly recommend these shoes!

This shoe is amazing for those looking at the minimalist lifestyle. They are light weight. fit as expected and provide more support than the vapor glove. I love them in the trails surrounding Boise as well as more challenging hikes in the sawtooths. My only complaint is there isn't a similar shoe for the roads. I'm wearing out the tread on my morning dog walks on the streets.

Good and comfortable shoe. I walk a lot at work and it definitely allows my feet and gait to function as they should. I'm excited to get more trail walking in.

Just took these guys on a 50 mile 3-day hike around Rae Lakes in the Sierra Nevada Mointains. Stood up well on trails, snow fields and scree slopes on 12,000 ft passes plus river crossings. I normally wear the Trail Glove hiking, but wanted more cushioning for a multi day hike.

I love this shoe, it is light and looks like a regular sneaker or running shoe while having a 0% heel

I've put these shoes through some extremely harsh use and probably used them in situations where many times an actual hiking boot should have been worn. They were comfortable from day one and fit, like many other said, like a glove. Excellent grip, super tough construction, breathable...what more can I say. When they start looking dingy, I throw them in the washing machine and then let them air dry, and they're ready for more. These shoes can do anything

I bought a pair of Bare Access shoes 5 years ago and have never looked back. Last time I needed new shoes I decided to try something different. After ordering and returning 11 other minimalist running shoes I came back to Bare Access and my feet were home.

Right out of the box and on to the dirt, these shoes were like putting on a pair of gloves. Nice and snug on the foot and comfy as all get out, did I mention light weight. I would highly recommend these shoes for trail running, hiking, and just everyday.

Theses fit perfectly and my feet feel so wonderful in them! Originally bought for running but now they are my 'go to' shoe for working as a nurse. No foot fatigue at the end of a shift. I am getting several more pair (one for the intended purpose of running!) but just to have them before they are "redesigned". My feet don't change so I hate when the shoe design changes for marketing purposes.

The show is fantastic. I have had 6 different pairs of various models of bare access over the years. Each of them was a size 10 and fit perfectly. These XTRs were also a 10 but way too big. I needed to return them for a 9.5 which was just right.

Like others have said, these shoes feel like gloves and have excellent grip! They feel quite snug around the arch at first, but this goes away as you get running. The description says that these shoes are for "light to moderate" trails -- no way; they are perfect for the nastiest, rockiest, steepest, debris-laden, hazardous trails imaginable, trails that are barely suitable for running. I feel like a leopard in these. Amazing.

For someone who likes a more minimalist shoe without going full barefoot, this shoe was perfect. The grip has been great so far. The sole has been a great middle-ground between a barefoot shoe and some of the over-cushioned trail shoes out there on the market. Just enough to protect your feet.
I will say that when I tried them on in-store, it felt snug around the arch area, but it has not been at all uncomfortable out on the trails. I do have higher arches for reference.
These are low profile, so I think if you were to take these on multi-day treks or ultra races you'd want to pair these with some gaiters.

Got a good price for buying a goofy color but they sure are comfortable even though they look funny.
