They are very comfy, just like all moabs are. I've had a few pairs and these fell no different. I was sceptical that they would breath like the ones with mesh parts, but seem to be fine...no funky feet! The only drawback i can think of other than the price is they show marks on them very easily, so they aren't terribly rugged if you want them to stay looking nice. Probably best to have these for wearing around town and have a standard pair of moabs for hiking.
I'd also recommend:
I only wear Merrell boits and Vibram Five Fingers

the upper boot lace hooks are terrible, cant adjust your laces, they get pinched when you pull to tighten. I have 4 pairs but they changed this one. The laces on my other pairs wear out way before the shoe. Replacement laces are way over priced. I love the way this boot fits my foot, comfortable from day one. Thats the only reason I buy them, but this pair, they went cheap on the upper boot hooks.

MOST LIKELY THE WORST INSOLES I HAVE EVER GOT IN A PAIR OF SHOES -BOOTS.

I purchased these to wear at work. I do a lot of walking, but none "off road". They are comfortable, and so far are waterproof. ButOnly 5 weeks in and the top shoestring strap stitches failed. Fortunately, I have a neighbor who is an excellent seamstress who fixed better than factory. She put stitches in all 4 top straps. Quality control issue?

I keep buying these because they fit my feet well and are comfortable. "I keep buying them" because they do not last very long. Never had a pair last for even a year. I keep super gluing them back together to get more than one year of use out of them, they fall apart quickly. For rugged Mountain climbing I wear Danner boots. Danner boots last a very long time. But, Danner boots cost almost 4 times as much. Love my Danner boots. They never leak. They never fail me. But the Merrel boots fit my feet better so for simple hiking, not too rugged of country, I know I'm getting what I pay for with Merrel boots: Leaky, don't last too long, gonna be gluing them back together within a couple months, but they are comfortable.

Ok, I have had a lot of Moab boots. I really wanted something like this without mesh that wouldn't allow dust into the shoe. This had leather in place of the mesh. Unfortunately, they don't seem to fit quite the same as other Moab Mid. The front kinda folds when tighten laces unlike the standard Moab Mid. I like less mesh but prefer the fit of the non-Prime.

Used these in the tree and on the ground as a full time arborist. They are smoked. Extremely comfortable from the get go and I felt I got a fair enough value out of the boots considering the abuse I put them through.

The Yokota 2 hiking boots look good, but not very comfortable. Even after 15 miles, the foot padding or insoles don't help smooth the lumpy insides.

They are light. That's and look good. Don't hold up to they're name. For the money you can do better.

I love you're boots. I thought prime ment the best. The toe cap is a rubber piece that doesn't hold up to chicken grease to well because it deteriorate. Should have been a piece of leather. Plus there was a missitch by the small toe that leak.

Ever since I'm wearing these, I've been noticing lots of soreness in both calves. I feel like the heel is raised slightly. No waterproof especially in the snow.

I bought these boots less then a year ago and the stitching on the inside of both boots have come apart. I have not even put the boots under tuff conditions just normal wear and for the price I would not buy another pair.

Very comfortable and requiring very little time to break in. Sole provides good overall traction from dry to wet. However, wet conditions these struggle with being considered waterproof. My new pair became soaking wet after a short time on a recent misty hike. Very disappointed in their claim to be waterproof. They should've stayed dry during this short hike.

Working outdoors, I have found that Merrell provides comfortable shoes for blue collar folk such as myself. You could find me on any day, whether it's on a job site or walking my dog around town, in my Moab 2 boots. But these boots have really let me down. Two months in and the soles have already started coming unglued from the fabric of the shoe. Which allows water to get underneath and negates the waterproof functionality of the boot. So I would recommend these boots if you're only looking for something to wear a couple weekends a year. But certainly couldn't recommend them to a friend. I'm not mad just disappointed. I'm a brand loyal fool and feel misled. I'm taking my ball and going home. Thank you.

I like the look and style of the shoe. However, my feet are sore after walking for only a short time. I hope they break in somewhat, but I think they'll still be uncomfortable. Sorry, Frankie .........

I'll start with the positives. These boots look and feel great. They fit exactly like my other Moab 2 boots, and they look even better. The construction feels solid. The Vibram soles seem just like the ones on other Moab boots, which hopefully means they'll last just as long. While these boots aren't dressy, I think they look pretty good in an office setting compared to the normal Moabs. Unfortunately these boots are a letdown when it comes to actually wearing them and walking in them. The waterproof membrane is an absolute failure. It does not breathe. My socks get moist after wearing these boots around the house for an hour doing nothing. After a few hours hiking, my feet are so wet that they are uncomfortable. The handful of times I've hiked in somewhat wet conditions, my feet and socks have been drenched. The breathability of these boots is so bad that it's impossible to tell whether the boots were leaking and letting water in or if the boots were just failing to breathe. I would like to try the Gore-Tex Moabs and see if they are better. These Prime boots are fine for around town but useless for hiking, at least for me. I might as well put a plastic bag in my Moab Ventilators (great boots) and at least have the option of genuine breathability.

Thought I would use these in winter since it's all leather. Didn't wear them that much, eye loop below the metal fastener on one side broke and came completely out. Have worn Moab's for a while with no problems.

Bought about 3 months ago. Few things wrong with this shoe. The sole feels like a gel after a 10 mile medium difficulty hike. There is no difference to a sandal. And dimensions are slightly off from each other. I have other shoes of same size and have no issues. Otherwise this is a cozy shoe to wear in cold places like your garage or yard. Don't rely on this for hiking. For this price timberland are much better shoes.

After 6 months of normal use, the sole separated from the boot. Not good. As a long time Merrell user I am discouraged. I just bought a second pair of these because they were on sale but who knows now. And, I just bought my son a pair of these, too. The moab 2 mid waterproof boot with the cloth mesh upper (that led me to get the all leather boot), held up A LOT better. BTW, I remember when my Merrells that were ALL leather,(not a bunch of little strips of leather like now), and never had this problem. Is newer really better? I don't mind paying for high quality, but that's what I want . Also...made in viet nam...hmmm...Not USA...

I was very disappointed in the actual weight of these boots. They're listed as 2#4oz. I put them on a scale the day I got them, they're 2#11oz. Huge difference. Too heavy to hike with.

Just over a month after I bought these boots one of the loops holding the shoelace failed. Luckily this happened at home and not on the trail. Poor quality and quality control--not what I expect from Merrell.

This is my second attempt with this shoe. First of all it's extremely comfortable requiring very little break in time and has amazing traction on various surfaces. First pair waterproofing failed relatively quickly on a damp hike. Merrell offered a small discount on the next purchase. Decided to try them again thinking the first pair was a fluke. Well couldn't be more wrong. After about 4 months they literally started melting. The sole and stitching was dissolving, Merrell what the heck is going on with your quality control?! It was great to pull these out of my bag right before my hike after traveling thousands of miles to get to my destination. I don't want another 15-20% discount, I want you to stand behind your product and replace them.

One of my shoes had a seam defect on the inside after just a couple of months of light wear. I sent in the online form but have heard nothing from Merrill.
