These are comfortable shoes. However, after 1 months of use, they are falling apart. This is the second pair of Merrells that have done this to me. Quality just is not what it used to be.

I recently tried a number of pairs of hiking boots. Note, I’m not a serious hiker, but have been doing moderate hikes each weekend recently.
Keen targhee III mid WP:
These were my keepers. Very comfortable, sturdy, light. Wore them on a 4 hour moderate hike yesterday and was happy with them.
Oboz Bridger BDRY:
Comfortable, sturdy the heel is a bit weird but I would’ve gotten used to it in the end the back of the shoe seem like it might be too tight and would eventually rub too much against the back of my ankle.
Solomon mid gtx:
Comfortable, sturdy. I’m an in between size and ordered the lower size. There was a bit of tightness at the top of the foot that would probably been gone with a half size larger.
Merrell Moab 2 Prime Mid Waterproof:
These I ordered in the higher size and also in a wide. They were just too big. But they we’re probably the most comfortable. The Keens worked out for me otherwise I would have given these a try in a different size.
Solomon low ultra 3 wide gtx:
Comfortable but I realized I ultimately wanted a mid rise. The pull laces seemed iffy but the reviews don’t seem to indicate a problem.
Solomon low X Raise Gtx:
Felt a little snug putting them on, but once on they felt comfortable. I realized I ultimately wanted a mid rise. Again, the pull laces seemed iffy but the reviews don’t seem to indicate a problem.

I wear a wide shoe/boot, and this was one of the few boots of the type I wanted that are available in wide. They have exceeded my expectations, and are extremely comfortable and lightweight; however, as in most shoes, I added a foam insole for more sole comfort. I recently wore these boots while clearing a long driveway of snow, and my feet remained dry after 90 minutes. I recommend these boots, although I've only had them for several weeks.

The Merrell Moab 2 Prime Mid Waterproof boot fits like the other styles in the Moab series. It is all leather upper so it is not as soft and pliable as the fabric combinations. It is more of a walking/hiking boot rather than a technical or sturdy work boot. Flexible, comfortable and lightweight.

After having read some other reviews, I was a bit concerned that perhaps I should have ordered half a size smaller, but the 11.5 Wides that I ordered fit perfectly. Also, pictures do not do these boots justice. I was outside visiting with a neighbor when they were delivered, and when I opened the box, they were much nicer looking that I was expecting them to be. As a matter of fact, my neighbor asked where he could get a pair just like them. I'm not much of a hiker, so I don't know how the boots would hold up to heavy-duty treks, but I'm sure they'll be just fine for me. I've already worn them while out running errands, and they look great with jeans. I've even gotten compliments about them. I wasn't sure that I'd care much for hiking boots when I ordered them, but I'm happy with my purchase.

Nice all leather boot, very warm. I would have gave it 5 stars but the stitching on top of toe area is coming apart after couple weeks. Wish there was double stitching, maybe that would have helped.

I buy these shoes for work. I work at a salmon hatchery. Moab has been the best shoe for my job. By far the best shoe to battle all of the different conditions and obstacles at work.

These boots fit perfectly and are comfortable right out of the box. They survived a winter of dog walks and hikes in rainy Oregon and still look as good as new

I wear these every day while I'm working. I'm in my feet all day. As soon as you put your new pair on your feet are happy. No break in period required at all.

I love these for waterproof and warmth. I had gaiters with my snow pants for the last blizzard so worked great in deep snow too. Good for about 6-8 inches otherwise.

Good comfortable, waterproof, outdoor shoes. They have great soles that offer a lot of traction.

We have bought Merrell boots for years, The Moab 2 does not disappoint. Merrell is the only brand I have ever bought that there is no break in required. A good quality boot for the price.

So far the Moab2 has been a great fitting shoe. We have snow on the ground here, but not too deep yet, so it is my chosen shoe to take walks or plow snow. Spent a couple days hunting too. Still look new. The Fit was true to size. Price was Excellent!

Purchased just prior to going to Alaska. Drove home to Michigan in November. Took a few hikes along the way. Boots were great.
Doing the drive was not recommended

Quality product and workmanship. The time spent, expertise, and commitment in designing these boots is so appreciative as I depend upon these boots as my only mode of transportation and hiking boot in New England where the weather and terrain can be highly variable.

Comfortable right away, wear them to work (arborist) and when I go hiking. Not heavy like some standard work boots, but I wouldn't say lightweight either.

Out of the box these Moab2 boots are ready to hit the trail or to go tailgating. Full grain uppers are stylish and sturdy. The sizing is true and look better as they get more wear. Enjoy!

Comfortable from day one. I wore these on a 4 day upland bird hunt in North Dakota where we put on several miles in varying terrain each day. They were comfortable and dry throughout the whole trip, I'm looking forward to using them around the farm this winter.

I am a big Merrell fan. Great foot comfort right off the bat for my 3 mile morning dog walks.
My go to has been the ventilator mid, but between New York winters and New Orleans hurricanes I needed something more waterproof.
I picked up the Moab 2 Prime Mid. They have a great fit but feel about a quarter or half size tighter than the ventilators particularly on my larger right foot. If your existing size is a tossup I would go to your larger half size.
I stood in a 2-3 inch puddle and picked up some dampness. So I augmented the waterproofing with Sno Seal and a heat gun (Merrell endorses NikWax leather). Now they are perfect.
I lost a little breathability but I have my ventilators for drier weather.

Great shoes. Fit comfortably and provide ample support. Love the tread. Most days I have a mile walk into work and these do the job.
