It is a very comfortable hiking shoe My only complaint is that the left side of the heel on my right foot wore out sooner than I expected. I do pronate when I run or walk so I've had this occur on my running shoes before. Otherwise, it is a very good hiking shoe. The best hiking area in which I wore it was on the cliff side trails from Boscastle to Port Issac in Cornwall, England.

I bought these around a year ago. They fit true to size or light weight and feel really great and breathable. Unfortunately they're not very durable. wore them maybe a total of 10 to 15 times. About five trails, two of which were over 3 miles. Wore them to work about three times. After the last time I use them on a trail in the fall, they ripped on the right side where the toe meets the soul. I'm assuming since they're such lightweight boots they weren't meant for rocky trails. probably best for smoothed out trails. Not sure if I wanna replace them with Merrills or another reputable company. May try some shoe glue.

I love how these feel like a sneaker. They run a bit hot tho. I've never said that about a shoe so I'm surprised.

My husband really likes these boots but my question is, could the sole possibly scratch a hardwood floor. Noticed a few new scratches on our floor and wondering if the boots could be the culprit?

I am here to inform those of you out there that in spite of what your parents or parent or legal guardian has told you, you are not special. When you read these other reviews and they say to order half a size bigger, listen to them. Get these shoes a little bigger. I can't return my shoes so... But besides the size issue, I like these shoes. I spent the money on them so I'll deform my feet until these break and I accumulate more cash to purchase another, of these are still in production.

Good winter hikers (I only use trail runners in the summer). My only complaint is a cheap footbed. Every time I take these off, it slides out.

Give them a few days to break in! Then after, it's a comfy shoe. Happy trails!

I bought these 1.5 years ago when they first came out and have wore them quite a bit since then. I have only used them for aggressive hiking a few times, but I regularly use them for winter wear and light trail hiking. They are very comfortable and they have excellent traction. They do run a bit warm in the summer, though. I think the cabela's 360 surround hikers I have tend to breathe better, but these are more comfortable with better traction. The liner on my pair of Zions did come unattached from the inside, but they still seem to be waterproof. I did take a point off because for that as the liner tends to pull out every time the shoe is removed. Overall, this is still one of my favorite hikers as it's very comfortable and stylish.

I am a park ranger and cover 5-10 miles and 500 to 1500 vertical feet over the course of a typical workday and more on days off. I've struggled for several years with pain in the balls of my feet, and these have been a dream from a comfort standpoint. I have a only been wearing daily for 6 weeks so can't speak to durability. The vibram sole is extremely grippy on varied terrain including snow. As for waterproofing, they leave a lot to be desired (otherwise 5 stars). With some mink oil on the leather portions, I can stay dry a little longer. However, if you're walking in rain or wet snow, you will ultimately get some soak through. That said, my feet generally stay fairly warm, due in part to the "waterproof, breathable" liner. I would not recommend for summer use. I typically wear size 11.5 and the 11.5 is perfect with a lightweight wool sock. You may want to size up if you wear thick socks.

They fit just a little snug. I was concerned at first but after putting 8-10 miles on them I experienced no issues with comfortability. Depending on how you like your boots to fit you may want to take that into consideration. Great support. Amazing grip.

Should have gone a half a size down. Little too much play in the toe area. Other than that they are totally solid.

I work in these (police officer) and find they're a great compromise between the light flexibility of a sneaker and the rugged construction of a boot. I've always been chasing something that struck that balance, and these are pretty great. They're comfortable and seem solidly constructed with a superb fit.

Good fit and a nice in-between weight compared to a full hiking boot. Versatile and well made.

Ordered a half size larger and the fit is perfect. Comfortable right out of the box. I can tell they will be hot because of the water proofing.

These are really comfortable boots. I like everything about them except for the laces. I have to tie them really tight and double knot them or they come loose.

They are incredibly comfortable. Haven't had extended use though. Only complaint is that I thought they would be more breathable. My feet are sweating bad in 50 degree weather after 15 minutes of walking around the neighborhood. That's unfortunate because I live in a fairly temperate climate. It's going to limit this boots functionality for me.

I am pleased with the shoes so far, they are comfortable, no real break in necessary, I have yet to wear them in the rain so not sure about waterproof . So far so good

Really nice looking shoes, but far from perfect, they are not waterproof, past snow storm, my feet ended up completely soaked from cleaning my driveway, same thing when walking trails and stepping into low level creeks. And they are comfortable for about 6 hours. If you want them for the looks, they are great but not the best for an all day hike.

My son loved these when I gave them to him for his birthday in mid July. But by mid September, the stitching had come undone on both shoes and we were sorely disappointed in the quality. I hope this issue was just a one-pair-fluke since I've always liked the Merrells I've owned.
