The first pair of this pant I bought at a retail location. I was son thrilled with the fit and comfort, I immediately we nt online to buy another pair. The pair I received does not fit the same. I ordered short and they are so long I will have to have them shortened, they are also tighter around the waist and in the leg. The pant is labeled correctly but there is some kind of quality control problem.

I ordered both the size 10 and 12 of this pant. I am usually a L in athletic pants and wear a 10-12 in other brands. The 12 ended up fitting better. I have large thighs and these actually fit decently well in the thigh area without the waist being too tight.
The navy color is definitely more of a medium cadet blue than a true navy.
The fabric feels tough but is quite thin, so it will show panty lines if you care about that. The fabric was stretchy and had a sandpapery feel. Squatting, stepping, bending did not cause anything to be too tight or fall down. It is not shiny or smooth.
The boot cut was not a flattering fit for me, and the large opening around the feet was not practical for my use. When I walked, the pant legs hit each other so I don't think these would have been good for me to be walking around outside.
Though these fit better than I was expecting (this is my first pair of Columbia pants I have tried) my main issue was that the crotch seemed to be too short. The seam from the back of the waistband to the front, was cutting into my butt and crotch. Other than not being super flattering, I was imagining having a constant wedgie feeling.
So the crotch issue and the too-big leg opening were no-gos for me and these will be going back.

I don't get the high ratings for these pants. I ordered them in the khaki color and my usual size for most pants. These were too tight around the butt and upper thighs, and the fabric is very thin, so they show even the most minor lump and bump in the back. Since there are no rear pockets, there is nothing to hide that. From the front, the way the fabric stretches across the thighs is unflattering, too. I'm not overweight, just average, and they made me look like I'd gained an extra 15 lb. and a new frumpy wardrobe. I prefer the Jammer II pants from Royal Robbins.

Although I ordered size 2 Short, the pants are still too long for me and a little big at the waist. That's always the case with most of the brands.

LOVE the fit and the give in the fabric. Miss the pockets that I prefer in ALL my trousers.
Really unhappy with the pilling of the fabric on the front, back and sides.

I ordered two pairs of these pants for a hiking trip because they are affordable, but am very disappointed with the quality of the material and will not purchase them again. Every thorn, shrub, branch, etc. clung to these pants, poked through the thin material, and snagged them. Others in my group did not encounter similar issues while wearing different brand pants. Although I only wore them for less than a week, they are now in horrible shape, with snags and pulls everywhere. In the future, I will pay a bit more money for higher-quality, longer-lasting pants.

I love the feel of these pants when I first put them on. They hike well and do repel water. The downside is they stretch out something terrible! I bought them to fit and they did. The size down was a bit tight. I should have sized down for sure. The size 12 I have (TWO PAIRS). stretch out so much after an hour or two they become annoying. They fall down and I constantly have to retighten the waist. Maybe I should have gotten 2 sizes down! If they stayed the sizing after washing they would be fine. Also pilling in places after only wearing/washing a few times. Expensive pants. Can't return as I bought in the winter for the summer from a local store. Very disappointed in the ridiculous stretch out.
Now trying to find out how to alter so maybe they can be wearable for more than an hour.

Usually Columbia pants sizes are a little more fitted than other brands. I actually prefer that because I don't like to wear them super baggy. The size 10 that I purchased fit like it was barely an 8. Talk about a muffin top! I have 2 other Columbia styles in a 10 and they fit fine. All 10's waists should be the same...the only differences should be if they are slim fit, boot cut, etc. I am definitely returning these.

These pants ran too small in the legs and knee area. I have a pair in short length that fit great, but are just slightly too short. These were about 3-4 inches too long so the seam around the knee didn't lay right. The fabric was also itchy on these and that did not resolve after 1 washing.

I chose the color, "Cyprus". The color on the website was a rich green - when the purchase arrived, the "Cyprus" color was a light faded green. The boot cut pant runs tight. I would have preferred a darker olive green and the the older "straight" leg pant. The same name pant can vary in fit.

The rise in these pants (the distance between the crotch seam and waistband) is too short. I returned them.

I gave them a 1 star because of their inconsistent sizing. I have a black pair in a 6 that I liked, so I ordered another pair in blue and 2 capri's in the same size. They are all too big, so now I have to pay to send them back!

These pants arrived with a tear on the Inside of the seam. I have 2 other pairs exactly the same and they are great. Just this pair had the problem.

Like the active fit. But the boot cut style is not flattering because the fabric is a bit stiff.

I'm very disappointed in the poor quality of these pants, which is a shame because I was really looking forward to wearing them. They're very comfortable and super flattering, but they were ruined within an hour of wearing them due to how easily the material snags and picks. I put them on, new, to go hiking this afternoon, but they were ruined by the time we left from lunch before we ever made it to the trail.
The entire thigh area of one of the pant legs is covered in small and large pulled threads, apparently just from touching the bottom of our restaurant table when I crossed my legs. I wish I could add a photo to show how terrible they look now. And the pants are very thin, so I'm certain I would have noticed if the wood table has been particularly sharp or had splinters. Imagine the disappointment I felt when they didn't even make it through two hours of light use!
These pants are stretchy, comfortable and light weight but are obviously not made for the outdoors if they couldn't even make it through a meal in a restaurant without being ruined.

I really liked these pants when I tried them on, so I bought 2 pairs. I thought they would be a nice, dressier alternative to scrub pants.
Unfortunately after only a few washes they started to pill. Not just friction area like between thighs. Pulling everywhere-tops of thighs, the fronts of the calves.
Such poor quality and really a waste of $50.

These are the most wonderful pants! . I could wear them everyday. They feel amazing and I like the fact that you can cinch them up (or let them out a tiny bit when you've had a good meal.) Because of the wider leg, they look equally good with sneakers or a casual shoe of some sort. I would like for the company to consider making them in other colors - especially a dark navy or some shade of tan/brown.
