These look nice but they aren't a true hiking boot at all. Very poor ankle support. Insole also thin and shifts in the boot as you walk. Only thing that I've found to help is really tighten up the laces. These fit me perfectly but are a cheaply designed boot.

Great looking boot. Well designed. Woefully mis-sized. They're labeled 9.5 but are barely 9's. First time I've had this problem with Columbia boots.

I like the boots but I wear a wide and these were not as wide as a wide should be. Others warned about this and I didn't listen!

So I got these shoes a few months ago. Bought them because they were supposed to be 100% waterproof... Well they are not, every time I wear them when its wet my feet get wet. Almost seems like they get wet from the bottom up an also now they are both getting holes in the top of the boots, same place on both feet. 80 bucks for shoes is almost like me buying a car, an these were a total let down.

Having used this for the past year its an okay shoe. To start things out, the shoes insoles are horrendous. They are just bad to the point where they feel uncomfortable and cheaply made. In fact I would recommend you if you get these shoes to throw away the included insoles as they provide 0 comfort and hurt your feet after you hike beyond 8 miles. The next con thing about these shoes is the waterproofing. In fact when hiking local mountains like Mt. Baldy, Cucamonga Peak, and other higher peaks, these shoes would do horrible at the most in the snow which would required me to use my other Columbia shoes in order to summit the peak. In fact one thing to note once your shoes become wet in the outer membrane in the front of the shoes they make the shoes heavier. In addition the waterproofing doesn't cover the entirety of the shoe. I guess its for the pros. First pro about these shoes how the rubber is solid and gives a good grip. The next pro is how cushioning besides the insoles are good. Overall these shoes are alright but if your looking about more waterproof then I would avoid this as it really does suffer especially in the waterproofing.
Winter Hiking:
Note: All Crampons will not fit with these. In fact these shoes are not meant with use of crampons they will not work in fact these are flexible shoes not meant for those peaks. I would say they are micro spikes compatible. If you want an Crampons the only ones that will work securely are K10 from Kahtoola and I would recommend getting Columbia Titanium Hiking Shoes, Columbia Newton Ridge as these two products fits well with the K10 and microspikes as my friends used them on their and would fit well. Other than that this shoe is good mainly for the summer not for the winter more or less.
If your looking for summer hiking shoes they are good but if your looking for something for both seasons (Winter/Summer) then avoid this shoe and get the Columbia Terrebonne II Mid Titanium Outdry Extreme Men's Hiking Boot or the Columbia Newton Ridge. As these two products are good for both seasons.

Clunky. They run a half size too small. I ordered wide and they are not wide in the slightest, I would go as far as saying they are more narrow than your standard shoe. I've owned plenty of Columbia boots which have fit well, and held up nicely. These are not so comfortable.

The fit was great. I have custom orthotics and they worked perfect in these boots. The problem is with the waterproof claim. I bought these in May 2022 and have worn them every morning when I walk my dog through a neighborhood park. its of grass and dew It is now nearly the end of August. This week walking through a heavy dew the boots leaking water into my socks and orthotics. It appears to be coming in where the boot material meets the sole. I am going to return and try another pair (if in stock and give them another try). I'll keep this updated
I'd also recommend:
Low, Renegade Mid GTX. Excellent boot for multi-day backpacking (40 lb pack)

I purchased the wide width boots and they are still very tight on my feet. When walking in them, they make a crinkling noise, like from cellophane.

Sizes run small. I'm a 12, and they just fit. Too lazy to return them and go through the hassle. Next time I'll order 12.5
They are light on my feet, so that's a plus.

I bought a pair of these about 2 years ago and have done mostly day hikes. They work ok for trails and woods, are just a tad small in the toes so had a few issues but nothing terrible. Then I took them on a 4 day backpack. Believe me, they are so NOT waterproof.
We walked in tall wet grass/foliage and after 10 minutes my feet were swimming. I can't see how Columbia can claim they are waterproof. Will not buy this brand again.

I sought out a good waterproof shoe for some light duty work I am doing outside. The tag on the show said Guaranteed Waterproof. Maybe there is fine print but i can't even walk through my yard when the grass is wet now. I've worn them 22 times and if the grass is wet I can count on wet socks and shoes for the rest of the day. They are comfortable shoes and the soles are wearing quickly so all in all the lack of water proofing (or lack there of) is what sits poorly for me. I cannot recommend this product.

I purchased these around 8 months ago. I use them for kayak fishing. The only time they see water is if there isn't a dock to step off on to. They worked fine for the 2 or 3 months I wore them over winter last season. I took them out for the first trip yesterday during a tournament and stepped in the water (only barely above the sole seam) and instantly I could few cold water. It's a little bit of a let down that I only got to use these a total of about 10 times before they began to leak. Other than that, I really like them, but without being waterproof, I don't need them.

Life duration of the shoe 3 to 4 months after use them for few not too agressive hiking.
Not much water contact or heavy weight on it, but they work very well.

I insisted with these boots on some trails, but the results were always totally unsatisfying. It makes me feel unsafe and insecure during the whole trail, even on the sidewalk they are slippery. It can be even risky at some parts, so that I had to test only on easy trails. They slip on dry earth, wet earth, dry stone, wet stone... in sum, everywhere. They're definitely not boots for hiking. I feel so disappointed that would never buy from this brand ever again. I don't even know what to do now, because I spent my money in a product that is a total waste. Maybe I could use it only to go to Church on Sundays.

I wear a size 15 and normally ware either Keen or Merrell everyday . This was only the second pair of Columbia Hiking boot that I purchased. By far the worst pair I have ever purchased. Virtually no padding at the bottom so I added insoles. Seams inside the boot rub thru your socks and my feet are sore after wearing all day. I will continue to wear but not for hiking just for short periods. If anything I should have order a wider size to minimize the rubbing

I had to get these for an emergency. (I forgot my boots for a trip) so I saw these. The first day of use (about 4 hours) my feet were a bit damp. So I thought it might have been the sock boot combo... so I changed the socks I used. On a longer day (about 8 phours) my feet hurt and where so sweaty they got pruny. The 3rd day of use was the same thing. Different brand and style of sock. Same sweaty feet.

From the first wearing, the boots made a weird crunching noise when walking in them. It sounded like stiff cellophane; perhaps the waterproofing membrane? After wearing them around the house 3-4 days a week for 4 months, the sole separated from the upper. Photos are of the same shoe. Lots of sole remaining. As you can see, hardly even dirty!

Bought 2 pairs of these shoes for our trip to Las Vegas. One for me and one for my 13 year old. They are comfortable and fit well. Unfortunately, literally the 2nd day we wore them, we hiked one mile in a state park north of Vegas and the soles on BOTH our pairs of shoes started to come off. The glue obviously can't take the heat, it was 110 degrees. But my wifes and 16 year old shoes from another manufacturer were fine. For an outdoor company this is unacceptable. Now I have to try to return them to our local sporting goods store with no receipt or shoe boxes...guess I am out of luck...

It must have been opposite day at the plant when they made these boots. The wide size is narrow. Before purchasing online, I tried on a different model in-store to verify the size. The in-store, standard size fit just fine. But these "wide" boots do not fit.
