These are the gold standard in hiking/snowshoeing gaiters. They keep out the snow, breathe well, and most of all protect your pants from crampons.
Many other gaiters protect your pants at first, but they shred easily themselves, and end up made more out of duct tape then anything else. These are tough and made to last.
The wide Velcro closure and rubber boot strap are rock solid and make for quick entry/exit with a bit of practice. The breatheability of the Gore-Tex allows you to wear these year round, simply loosen the top strap and push down to mid-calf for when you are wearing shorts and heading out into the mucky-muck.
You can buy cheaper gaiters, just plan on continually replacing them.

These are my first gaiters. Once I slowed down and read the directions and learned how to get them on properly, I've come to really like them. I've used them snowshoeing and working around the barn in 8-10 inches of snow. They make a world of difference. I love the velcro closures. It makes getting them on correctly, a snap.

I love these gators, they are the most comfortable ones I have ever used. They are tough and water proof, what else could you ask for. I used them while snowshoeing in the White Mountains and am very impressed with the fit and the gortex lining. Great addition to any hikers gear.

Wonderful gators, the past gators that I have used were a pain to get on. These with the hook and loop are great. The Gortex is a plus, also.

Exactly what I was looking for. Easy to get on and off, Very comfortable while snowshoeing, great job stopping snow from getting to my pants and boots and tough enough to resist those little picker bushes that like to tear your windpants.

I have used Gaiters for over 20yrs, hiking, snowshoeing, ice climbing, mountaineering, dog sledding, back country skiing, and the ones above are wonderful. After getting the strap around your foot properly adjusted, they come on and off in seconds, and your feet will be dry and warm. I have had alot of gear fail me when out on the trail for weeks, however never these. Worth every penny

These are perfect. Outdoor Research is truly one of the premier outdoors products companies.
What I like about this pair is the velcro closure is wide and seals snow out without error.
These slip on in 30 seconds.

I like these gaiters for deep snow and tall grasses, they keep my boots dry and free of debris. however, everyone I know has had the buckle for the strap that goes underneath your boot break. outdoor research's warranty process was painless and they took care of me, but I'd like for them to improve the design/materials

Bought for winter forestry work in the mountains. Keep you nice and dry and seem to be rugged enough to not tear in bushwhacking conditions. Getting the perfect fit can be a challenge- getting the hook over your laces while also tightening the bottom strap never seems to line up perfectly.

I have ideas that could make this product 50% better with some slight improvements. But I doubt outdoor research would contact me for those ideas. Sadly.

Really like the gaiters - excellent keeping snow/mud out from low cut shoes. Unfortunately the buckle pin broke on one of them after several uses - the metal on these seems cheap and poorly constructed. I am returning for a replacement, but fear that this will continue to be an issue with under-engineered components. Saw this on some of the other reviews as well.

These gaitors look sturdy, waterproof and durable and after about 6-8 Northeast snowshoe outings they definitely shield your boots and lower pant legs from snow. Issue is the fit.
I am male, 5 foot 11, 193 pounds and usually go with large on most clothing. These feel a bit large. I have to wrap the gaiter around my calf and overlap the velcro beyond where its designed to go. The top strap also has to be tightened to its extreme limit to prevent them from slipping down my calf. This doesn't feel right but I think a medium would be too small.

The buckle that secures the upper velcro strap feels and looks very cheap. I suspect this will fail. Otherwise aside from not being USA made these are worth considering.

These are awesome so far. Very durable material. I do wish that the buckles were a little bit higher on the side of the foot. They are dangerously close to the bottom of my boot and I can see the buckle eventually getting busted up on the rocks. Even just an inch up would save them from a beating.
Overall, I love them and they have been a game changer for hunting.

Use these gators for a few months in the winter now and I'm super happy with my purchase. They are durable and will keep your feet dry while snowshoeing or walking in the snow. Can't wait to see how they will perform hunting this fall!
Consider getting one size smaller than what is recommended for your shoe size if you are going to use them with hiking boots, they run big and won't completely seal with the recommended size.
One thing I would like to see is replaceable straps for easy in the field repair.
Another great product from OR!

These have worked well but I've only used them twice. Kept the boots and feet totally dry even in some DEEP snow for hours! They fit well and stay up on the leg nicely but I find the buckle a little annoying to deal with at the bottom of the gaiter.

Just a solid gaiter, what you would expect. Mens are a bit taller so they sit where they are suppose to unlike the women's

No longer when Tromping through swamps and vet vegetation do you need to dread getting wet as these keep your legs dry and ready for back to back excursions as they dry quickly! Im a 10.5 and I felt a large was a big loose but a medium fits snug

I wear size 9 boots, right on the edge of their M/L gaiter sizing. I got the L, but they are too big, even on some beefy backcountry boots.

I purchased a L and have a size 9 boot. According to the sizing chart that falls in the range although when worn with my boots there were noticeable gaps in the bottom which would be problematic. Should've purchased the medium.

I use these for winter trail maintenance in the canyon lakes ranger district in northern Colorado. We do some winter biking/hiking with tools to keep up the trails. These work great! The only thing that's isn't perfect is the boots i use (Sorel's) don't accept the lace clip. The laces are too far back on the boot for the clip to catch. It doesn't seem to be an issue though. No snow has gotten in. Great product!

Worn with Lowa patrol/mountain boots the bottom strap buckle is a bit low near the edge of the sole and limits the tightness of the seal with the boot. Go to the smaller size unless you are wearing true mountain boots. Durability and performance are perfect otherwise. Please bring back the Multicam version!
