I was buying this to replace a Whirlybird I bought 5+ years ago. I like what had but it was starting to show it's age for a everyday coat. I bought this as a black Friday deal and I was happy for the value I was getting. It took a little longer than I excepted to get (delivery problems). When I received it, I was expecting the color of the coat to closer to what the picture was online. It wasn't, looking it from three different devices the color looked black and blue. In person it is more like teal and light blue. My second problem with the coat was goggle pocket. I don't understand why it is on the shell of the coat and not the inner liner. I returned the jacket to outlet which was happy to have an extended size returned and they seem to be a hot commodity.

I wouldn't recommend this jacket even though it was a gift. Compared to a much older Columbia jacket I had, this one is much less comfortable. The lining reminds me of an emergency blanket and also has different points that are elastic. The point of the elastic is to keep the air insulated and body heat inside of the jacket. The problem I have with this jacket is it doesn't perform as well keeping me warm as my old jacket and it also is less comfortable. Columbia's design team needs to take a step back and look into balance of comfort and heat. This jacket may be a few ounces lighter; but I'd rather have more comfortable materials on my skin with a little more weight than have what feels like an emergency blanket with scrunchies wrapped around my arms crinkling and sticking to my skin.

The jacket is not worth it, it's not that warm and there are many jacket of other companies which are warmer and cheaper.

I bought this jacket. I loved this jacket. Until, I wore this jacket on my mail route (I'm a postman) and the heavy rains of Georgia had me soaked. It holds up in the mist and drizzle but being hit continuously by heavy rains this jacket sucks. I wouldn't buy again and I was happy to take it back.

Outer shell fits well. However, after 2 separate orders neither came with inside layer jacket so had to return... Beware, you have to pay for packing and waste time going to UPS store to ship back.
