I've been using cheap coats, and realized I was wasting money. This coat is just perfect. Well made, very warm, and yet light to wear. I have to wait for my train every morning; now I just sit outside in the otherwise empty chairs while everyong else huddles inside! The fit is just what I wanted, and I'll buy another if I lose this one. And I like green while everyone else is wearing black! Buy one - you'll never regret it!

As someone who wears a 3xlt, I ordered this in a 4xlt to make sure I'd have room when I layered. The quality is excellent, zippers easy to grab with bulky mittens and the internal layer stands on it's own as a great jacket to wear above 35F. Temps got down to 2 today and wore the whole thing together and it was great. I did a lot of research and this costs as much as a puffer from Ralph Lauren or Tommy Hilfiger - yet the internal jacket a lone is on par with those.
For someone over 2XL or 2XLT there are no substitutes. Eddie Baurer makes 3XL and 3XLT but I find them a little smaller and not as good quality.

I'm 6'3" approx 250lbs and purchased an XLT since I have purchased that size in other products from Columbia and have been happy with the fit of my previous purchases. However, this one was way too big. It looked like I was wearing a tent. The shell was the biggest problem because I felt like the liner was a good size when wearing that individually. I wound up returning the jacket and buying a LT. The shell fits me great and the liner fits a litter more snug than I'd like, but it's not too small and good for my height. The perfect combination for me personally would have been the XLT liner with the LT shell.
The jacket is well constructed and within a minute of trying it on in my home I felt very heated. Though I have yet to really test this jacket "in the elements" of winter, I think this will hold up well in the Chicago winters keeping me warm in my daily walk in downtown Chicago.

The fit is nice with thoughtful details for winter activities. As someone who gets hot easily, having the vent zippers is a real nice way to keep my temperature manageable while out and about. I also love the removable shell.

Spent a lot of money over the years on Canada Goose Coats. More recently I bought 3 Whirlibird Coats from Cloumbia. There is no doubt Canada Goose are warmer, but they cost me 5x the price, are big, bulky, heavy and not particularily waterproof.
My Columbia Coat seems to be waterproof, extremely comfortable, less heavy, much less bulky and unexpectedly warm, and costs about 20% of the price of my Canada Goose.
I wish you made matching pants.

It's fine. Coat keeps you warm and dry. I guess it does what a ski coat should do

Very warm jacket, very adaptable to warm and very cold weather . Nice with air vents under arms. Tested water repellant and it worked very well. Zippers work very well

The coat is nice, seems to be warm as it thought it would be, and the size chart is a little off, since its a interchangeable coat inner sleeves dont always stay together with the outter shell which can get annoying. But so far so good cant wait to test it in some real cold weather and see how warm it really is.

This jacket is pretty great. I don't ski or anything, but I live in Ohio and was looking for something to keep me a bit warmer this winter. This should fit the bill well. All put together, it is very warm. On slightly warmer days, or if I get *too* warm, it allows the option of pulling out the interior puffy jacket and staying comfortable.
It is fairly heavy, but not in an overly cumbersome way. The warmth provided far outweighs the weight, though.
I have a similar Columbia puffy jacket to the one that is included on the interior here, but that separate one also has interior pockets. I wish this one included those interior pockets, but sadly it does not and my separate one doesn't seem to zip in place of the one which was included with this jacket.

Nice, warm, and durable but the inside gets sticky when you sweat.

Seems to be good quality, very warm and true to size. I'll reserve the 5 star rating for after use on the slopes.

Shell and liner is a little heavier than I anticipated, but I guess OK.

Got a large/tall. True to size, not overly baggy. Hood doesn't flop over my face like my previous Columbia jacket. Pockets are very generous in size. Quite warm.

Good value for money. I like the puffer better than I expected. The shell is good for the money, pretty basic. Obviously its not the same as some of the one s that cost 2-3 times as much, but I am happy with it.

bought this to replace an older interchange jacket/liner. Very nice fit, works very well. I do miss the drawstrings at the neck and waist from earlier jacket models, but other than that, this is a good jacket

I purchased the jacket for my husband who is a 2X in nearly everything that we've purchased from DXL. Unfortunately, this jacket seemed to run big. There was a little too much bulk through the shoulders and the arms were longer than we anticipated. It felt like a 2XLT rather than a true 2XL. I wish that DXL carried the 1X because we're going to need to order one size down.

I would have preferred a dual zipper-up-down and one that is easier to start. Its a long jacket so I have to pull it up so I can reach zipper to connect it. A larger size zipper would have made it easier. The velco tabs are nice but larger ones would allow easier way to close and seal coat.

I haven't worn it in the elements yet, but it'll definitely get the job done. No complaints on it. I was unsure whether to get a L or LT, and I ended up going with a LT. The inner jacket fits well, but the shell is just a little baggy. LT is probably a little too big for someone that is 6'2 185 lbs, but it's not bad enough to where I wanted to deal with returns and the waiting. Just wanted to possibly help out the next customer.

Quality of materials is obvious. only negative is the powder curtain does work with liner. bought jacket with liner for real cold days on the mountain. Annoyed powder curtain will not be useful.

The only problem I had is that the sleeves are only lightly lined so they are not that warm.
