I've been Running in these bad boys for over 12 months and love them. Virtually no wear so far. Super light, great sturdy low profile for speed and distance. I thought at first the insoles might have been too thin, but after my first run I realized the shoe sole is very soft, but ultra sturdy due to the Carbon Plate. I also had injured my MCL, and these shoes saved the day and have allowed me to run again...the fit is designed to be snug around the ankle and heal and instep, but roomy enough for your toes so there is no pinching. The last can be snuged and dialed in with the lacing for the perfect ride.

I use this shoe exclusively as a running shoe. The fit is tight, but that is what I prefer and expected out of this shoe. I think of it as an athletic piece of equipment such as a ski or snowboard boot: it needs to fit snug because it is designed for an athletic activity. I used the shoe fitting guide provided on the Hoka website, and it was spot on. The previous two shoes I used as input were the Brooks Glycerin 17 and the Saucony Ride ISO 2. I read in a few reviews that users had to size down half or a full size, but if I did that my toes would have been pushed into the toe mesh. The cushion feels perfect, and the meta rocker was noticeable from the first step. On my first run in this shoe I was able to beat my current best 30min time easily, and during the run my legs felt great the entire time.

I ran a marathon this pass weekend, shoes were light, cussing and comfortable, I normally wear the Bondi's kind, but this shoe was also great.

I started out with the Hoka Bondi 6's and loved the cushion of the shoe! After over a thousand miles I switched over to the Hoka Carbon X's. This lightweight shoe with the Carbon Plate is a very lightweight, responsive and comfortable shoe. I am running between 4 and 7 miles 5 days a week and this shoe is amazing! I thought I would miss the cushion the Hoka Bondi 6 provided but no. The lightweight and responsiveness of the Carbon X makes it my favorite.

I bought mine 12 months plus ago, but could not use them until recently due to an MCL injury, but I'm back Running and these shoes really give Runner's an advantage. Fit is perfect size 12, no rubs, no heel grinding no pinching just a smooth comfortable fit...Carbon really makes a difference in stable ride, and my stride keeps improving. Thx Hoka!

I ordered this size in a 14 but it is too small. Any chance you have some 15's in the pipe? I love my other Hoka's just want some carbon sole ones.....

The Carbon X's are amazing shoes. I didn't know what running was until I discovered my first pair. Running became more enjoyable than ever largely due to the shoe's amazing toe off and perfect fit. Everything from snugness around my foot, the toe box, the heal, and the general support of the shoe on the bottom of my foot feel great.
However, on my second pair, it seemed like the rocker was a bit farther towards the tip of my toes than my first pair. Both shoes were the same size. So my only drawback is that I'm not sure how replicable Hoka can make their shoes given that one shoe felt different than the exact same model. The problem seems to be fixed if I really make sure my foot is all the way forward and this doesn't cause issues with the heal. Interesting nonetheless.

I have my fair share of running shoes over the years until a friend suggested the Hoka brand to me. Bought my first Carbon X and I will only use this brand for comfort and durability.

I run about 800-1000 miles per year, and these have been my favorite. I've tried the Carbon X2, but prefer these. No foot pain, and my foot feels almost naked when running. Light, breathable, perfect cushion, and springy action
Cons. Not the best in wet or icy conditions due to the lack of tread. Also tend to wear out faster than Brooks ghost or Hoka cliftons

I'm in love with these shoes. I wish the didn't change the sole design on the new version. These are my go to pair for races this year.

I'm 31 and have been running consistently for 15 years and through countless pairs of different shoes. These are immediately the best I've ever had.

I tried the Carbon X shoes on about a year ago and fell in love with them. I just could afford at that time. Last years model went on sale and I was so excited. I love them. They're responsive and offer a nice bounce to my stride. Comfortable too. Would buy again.

Hoka is the BEST!! Only shoes my husband and I wear. I have arthritis in my feet and he has a severe case of plantar fasciitis. These shoes healed him and make me feel like I'm walking on clouds!!

After years of being an ASICS fan boy, I took the leap of faith and tried the MACH 4...AWESOME shoe!. I then tried the Clifton 8 and again I was blown away. the Carbon X is Stiffer feeling for me compare to the other two but it feel good and it could be a Placebo effect but I feel fast when running with them LOL.

Ok , I have read a lot of the reviews on this shoe I am on my third pair. This shoe is what it is . Yes the upper is flimsy and if you are a bigger runner I would not recommend. Yes the lacing system has a lot to be desired and if you are a jogger or walker don't waste your money . But if you are a runner who works out in full stride this shoe is amazing. It will throw to into a mid to fore foot striking position and hold into the position through out your run . These shoes make me a faster more efficient runner . Hope Hoka continues to offer Carbon 2 does not deliver speed like the Carbon 1
