Ive been using Newtons for many years and started too develop several foot issues which required surgery. My surgeon recommended that I switch shoes. So I spoke with my local running store and decided to try Hoka. After hearing great things about the Hoka brand shoe, I purchased the Hoka Carbon X. After a couple of runs my foot pain went away. I'm no longer in any pain at all when competing. Im so thankful for HOKA and look forward to continue wearing such a great show!!

I purchased the Carbon X 2 and ended up returning them and to get these. While I trained for the 2020 Hyannis Marathon (my BQ race) I wore the X for my tempo runs and really like them. I have about 200 miles on the original pair, and even though they're not worn out yet, I wanted to get another pair before they're obsolete. Anyway, I qualified for the 2021 Boston Marathon and will be wearing these brand new ones during training. Maybe I'll get used to the X 2 but as long as these are hanging around, I'm gonna get them while they last!

Thank you Hoka! I love these shoes. They are affordable compared to the Nike Vaporfly. This is my second pair for marathon running as in 2020 I only did a 2 mile race (my fastest race time finish ever at 13:02). I am looking forward to running my fastest marathon and in comfort. The benefit of the base plate gives you propulsion forward and the shoe tips you forward into a lean to be fast along with cushion to feel comfortable at 26.2 distance. Note the base plate and position the shoe puts you at (leaned forward more on your toes) puts you in a postion to run faster but takes time to get used to. The only downside is that you will want to supplement these shoes with other shoes as they are a low milage shoe, meaning the base plate and cushion will break down faster than other shoes on the market. Still highly recommend as a shoe for racing in!

It's used for training runs! I only wish you could put "Vibram" outsoles for the road for better traction!

Absolutely the best shoes! Not since a pair of adidas way back in the mid 70's. Great shoes!

Wide two box, I have a narrow foot and the upper is so flexible and wide it is hard sometimes to get them laced probably. Also had heel rubbing raw in the beginning. That only happened once though and have put 200 miles in them. Probably just laced them too hard.

Male, 5'11", 180 pounds. Felt great out of the box, but I have only run a few 5k's so far because I happen to have an injured back right now. I will say that it feels as though the shoe helps to correct my stride a bit (e.g., "stepping over the broomstick" feels more natural). I was planning to alternate my road runs between these and Rincons, but I haven't put these down yet. I'll definitely buy the Carbon X 2's when the time comes.

Wow. I’ve never worn carbon shoes before and these are incredible. After a short run on the treadmill, I took them out on a 20 miler. Zero issues. I did have to put the lace through the lace lock to prevent slipping but that could be because I am a woman (smaller ankles?).
I’ve been running in Cliftons for years but the 6s give me insane blisters. So happy to have found a replacement!!
Also, just a heads up - these shoes have zero tread, and I mean ZERO. They felt slippery on my hardwood floor. Be careful if running in slippery conditions.
