Light and comfortable. Worked great for a daily trainer, longer runs and even tempo sessions. My main concern is how quick the sole of the shoe wore away. This is my 4th pair of Hokas and the first time I have experienced durability issues. This would easily be a 5 star shoe if it could last more miles.

I am an avid trail runner and run about 45-50 miles/week. My go to shoes have always been Brooks. However, with all the running, my feet were getting beat up and I often had painful blisters. So, I decided to give the Hokas a shot - they seemed like a step up from Brooks, both in style and in comfort, and were therefore priced at a premium. I got a pair of the Hoka Rincon (white/blue/yellow) and they are cool looking shoes. (I even wear them out when I go out because they are attention magnets ). They lace up nicely and hold the foot firm. The wide sole provides good stability on gravel at high speeds. I've run about 30-40 miles in them and they are comfortable, for the most part. The inner sole is not as soft as I hoped it would be and I am getting a blister from them - in a different spot than when I usually get them from wearing Brooks. Overall, they're good shoes, but in my opinion, Brooks are just as good, if not better, at a slight discount than the Hokas. For this price,my expectations were higher.

Female who usually run's in men's shoes for the extra width. Was looking for a softer, higher stack, shoe for recovery runs (most of my running these days is done in Saucony Kinvara 9 [men sz 9], occasionally in Altra Superior 4 [men sz 8.5] or Newton Gravity 7 [women sz 10.5]). The Rincon is stiff and too narrow for me. The men's 8.5 length was perfect. Did not run outside in it as was clear after a mile it would have felt like a vice grip. Have ordered Clifton 6 in wide, men's 8.5, and hoping it has the width I need and should also have more cushion.
I'd also recommend:
Saucony, Altra, Newton

It is a great pair of shoes, bu feels too wide for me. I would definitely recommend the shoes for someone with wider fetes than myself.

An earlier reviewer said it right with Hoka - you have to try the various styles because they are each made for a totally different foot, weight and runner purpose. This Rincon Hoka is a lightweight shoe, for Hoka, and is the most narrow fit and slightly longer model of any Hoka I've tried. Also they are not built for stability, but more for speed. These did not work for me cause they were too long and narrow/low stability for my foot/body and running style. If you have a narrow foot, are lightweight and looking for a race shoe - this is a good pick. Rincon didn't work for me. On Hoka models: Bondi is best comfort/cushion ride - The Gaviotta 2 is the best stability shoe ever! - Clifton Edge is a comfortable mediumweight cushion/comfort runners shoe. The regular Clifton is a lightweight shoe, nice comfort with ok stability. Challenger ATR is good all purpose Hoka, but You just need to try the styles and you will eventually find the perfect model.
I'd also recommend:
Saucony Guide, Saucony Ride, Hoka Bondi, Hoka Gaviotta 2, Clifton Edge

I bought the 'wide' fit. It wasn't wide. I doubt that there's even much a difference between sizes M and normal.

I purchased my first ever pair of Hoka Rincon's and was just blown away about how well they looked and the cushion that come on the shoes looked very nice. BUT, after running in them a VERY short while my right foot just hurts and aches from running in these. I thought I may just have an injury or something but I switched shoes back to another brand and my pain went away immediately. Funny thing, as I'm doing more research on these shoes I also see other comments about the right foot hurting too with other people who also purchased these shoes. Is there a way to make the right shoe feel more like the left??... LOL.. I've stopped wearing these shoes completely now after just a few weeks and miles because of the pain. I was really hoping to like this brand of shoe because they look like they're super comfy until you actually start running in them. Again, the right shoe needs help for whatever reason... It's like the underneath part breaks up and gives you ridges inside the shoe that your feet hit every step... .painful.

Love how light and fast this shoe but my main problem is how bad the sole is deteriorating even though I've only put maybe 50miles on them. The foam shreds and not enough harder rubber on the bottom of the shoe.

Very plush and cushion'y as advertised. The heel drop is definitely much lower and felt a little weird. The shoe wasn't as comfortable and well fitting as my Brooks GTS and Ghost. Decided against the injury risk of switching to a lower heel drop given my knees weren't the problem.

I'm 40/M, 10:30 avg pace, runs are between 5 and 15 miles, average 15 miles a week, mid- to forefoot striker, neutral runner. Previous shoes Nike Zoom Elite and Altra Solstice. Recently have had more foot and knee pain, can't increase mileage. So I gave in and bought Rincon and Clifton. Ran 13 miles with Rincon. Felt plush compared to the Solstice, naturally, but almost too plush in the forefoot. First 5 miles were a breeze, avg pace almost a whole minute faster. But at around mile 10, felt my big toe was pressing too much into the midsole during the push-off, so much so that the medial side of big toe felt slightly raw in the end. Legs were more tired than usual and I stopped a couple of times during my runs, which is unusual. Clifton, meanwhile, is perfect. Clifton is supposed to be more plush than Rincon, squishier, less responsive, but the Clifton 6 is actually just the right amount of firmness, especially in the forefoot. So the Rincon is firm, yes, but seems a bit too squishy in the forefoot, particularly on the medial side. So I'm returning it and sticking with the Clifton.

I have about 250 miles on these and they still have loft and sole left. This would be my favorite shoe if it had a wider toe box. I love how it cradles my heel and arch and I feel very secure and solid even with the intense amount of cushion. If I order a size up or a wide size the fit isn't the same, but this is still my go-to for runs under 1 mile, anything longer it rubs and blisters the sides of my toes. I also appreciate this shoe, colorwise and design in the Black and White, looks complimentary to a lot more outfits and I can wear it when I'm not just exercising in it, If you have a narrower foot, don't let this review dissuade you, I think this is a great shoe, but Hoka, please consider this as R&D

I really love the Rincon. However, the striking pads on bottom of shoe are so flimsy that they fall off after 4 runs and you are left running on the cushion which wears down quickly. Not happy at all with that aspect of the show. Need to buy a pair a month at best.

Overall, the shoe is comfy and nimble. Much better fit and more room in the toe box than the Clifton 5s. However, they lasted about 50 miles before parts of the outsole started to fall off. Not sure they'll make 100 miles at that rate. Maybe I just got a lemon. Let me know, Hoka!

The Ricon feels really good. The problem is the soles wear too quickly compared to other brands. There is 125 miles on these and the soles have major wear

I ordered the Hoka One One Rincon shoes off of Eastbay because the reviews were fantastic. I supplement weight training with about 20-25 miles per week. Previously, I had worn Nike Pegasus Turbos 1 & 2 and really enjoyed them. I was ready for a change and thought I'd pick a shoe from a company who seemed to make running shoes a priority. Upon receipt, I was very impressed with the quality, the lightweight feel and was super excited to give them a try. I've put now upwards of 40-50 miles on them and have the worst blisters on both big toes and insteps. I'm wondering if this is just par for the course in breaking them in or perhaps it just doesn't work for my feet. I have narrow feet, I'm not new to running, I'm fast relatively speaking but it just doesn't work with these shoes. What am I missing?

i have had the shoe since christmas and love it. I run half on the tread and half on the road but the shoe is just too narrow. I would continue to buy if they just offered a wide version of this shoe.

Love the Rincons. If you're looking for a long run and tempo shoe, these can cover you for both. The one issue I have is that the arch on my right foot is a hair flat compared to my left foot's mid in height arch. With that said, after 150miles in the Rincon, my right foot's arch is chaffed completely with no break in on the horizon it seems. So if you have a somewhat flat arch, I would not recommend these shoes.

I loved these shoes. I had purchased them to run my first marathon in. Unfortunately, the sole started falling apart on my 2nd training run in them. In the middle of my 4th run, the extra abrasion zone on the heel peeled out and folded over like a flap with each step. After only 4 runs and 43 miles and they were done. I was very disappointed as they felt great otherwise. Please sacrifice a little weight to expand the abrasion zones to give this shoe some durability.

This shoe had a good amount of cushion and felt comfortable, but it ran very narrow......rather tight. Almost like the volume of space inside the shoe was not enough. I would've gladly given it 5-stars if it came in a wide, but since it doesn't........

The sole of the shoe is not very durable, I normally wear running shoes for about 3 months, I think the Hoka One One Rincon will probably only last 2. Super comfortable and light!

After reading the positive reviews and praying the fit was right for my feet (several other Hoka models way too tight on the toes!) and finally receiving the Rincons after a shipping snafu, got them and the fit was perfect. Finally, a shoe with enough room for my toes, both width and height. The maiden run was heaven. The best feeling I've had in a long time. Light, fast when pushed, comfortable, smiling as I ran. O.k., ready for the 1/2 marathon! They had about 50 miles on then for the race and felt really great and PB'd it. Have since put another 50+ miles on them. Have noticed extensive wearing underneath, especially the wear pads are down pretty close and am wondering if I'll get 200 out of them. The soft area is chewed up pretty well. Also feeling like the cushioning has diminished. Am also wondering if the light-weight of the shoe causes more of a pronation for me or not. Bottom line is this shoe is fast and comfortable, but seems to be wearing out very rapidly. I'm waiting to see what the next 100 miles do to these shoes. I doubt they have 300 miles in this model though.

I've gone on about 8 runs in the rincon. I really want to love them because they are so comfortable and light weight. I keep having the same discomfort and problem on every run after a couple of miles. My right toes fall asleep, it feels very uncomfortable and I have to stop and take my shoe off.

I bought this shoe needing a lighter weight shoe for speedwork and 5k races. I have been doing all of my speedwork over the Summer in older Vanquish 3s. The Rincon is extremely light. Out of the box the Rincon was the most comfortable shoe I'd ever ran in. I've ran in it a total of 6 times now. Half of the runs have felt good, ranging anywhere from 3.5 - 7.5 miles. The other 3 runs have felt like I've had no shoes on at all and my feet just feel like they are banging into the ground. I have also developed 3 blisters from the Rincons. I VERY rarely blister in any shoe. I have also noticed some heel tenderness, which led me to look at the insole. The insoles are paper thin in these shoes as some others have commented. I know the Vanquish shoes are considered a plush cushion and these are balanced, but it is irritating that some runs feel good in these, while others feel horrible. If it was an issue with me just needing more cushion then you'd think every run would feel bad. I'll be sending these back thanks to the 30 day trial period. I really wanted to like them though, very disappointed. I also have noticed some pretty considerable wear on the outsole given that I've got less than 40 miles on these. I don't see them lasting more than 200 miles, most likely 150. Overall I guess I'd still recommend them, but they didn't work for me.
