Out of the box ready to go, as is always the case with this line of shoes, Salomon delivers yet another gem. My first trail to conquer with these brand new shoes, the Teton Crest Trail. 35 miles through meadows over mountain passes, across creeks and over snow, these lightweight, breathable GTX speedcross are my go to. My previous pairs of GTX speedcross were not nearly as breathable. So kudos for that.

Great shoe for trailrunning and mountaineering. I even use it with crampons. Top durability. The sole is a good trade-off between grip on wet, muddy underground and dry, polished rock. Just ordered my 3th model. I'd improve two things: first, the lacing system could "lock" a bit more. In other words: I usually have to retie it on the summit. Second, it dries slowly due to the GTX which leads to bad smells. Overall minor drawbacks - I usually run more than 200km and 10000 meters of elevation a month. This is one of the best trailrunning shoes I've ever had!

Super shoes, my brother in law w ants to steal them. I live in Switzerland asnd bought these to run on grass and gravel/ vineyard paths. Excellent heel, upper and toe box allows spread and speed laces offer great synch/supports, and sole/ studs are or were amazing- initially. I am a big lad, but studs wear down faster than the rest if the shoes...I realize this is partly my "running weight", but other shoes, hiking boots I own wear down relatively consistently. Would buy these again but would like to see a combination of soft sticky sole, with harder wearing studs- if this is technically possible. Thank you

So impressed by this shoe. To be completely honest, i'm new to buying shoes for anything more than the style or look they add to an outfit. As my first outdoor shoe purchased for actually being outdoors i'm beyond impressed by the COMFORT and DURABILITY of this shoe. Cant wait to explore trails around the country with these shoes hugging my feet. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to get out and be active. They really are perfect for running any terrain beyond concrete...

These SC5 are my 3rd pair of Speedcross. They keep improving every aspect of the shoe, so if you like the previous SC, you'll like the SC5 even more. Easily one of the best OCR shoes available.

I have had several pairs of the Speedcross over the past few years. With the introduction of each new version they keep getting better. My new Speedcross 5 GTX are the best yet. The fit is even better, I love the new tongue design, there is no gap between the tongue and inner part of the shoe so fit is more accurate and they keep small debris from getting in while on the trails. The tread design is more aggressive than ever without hindering speed and agility. Would definitely recommend!

Nice bright color, very stiff shoes, comfort is amazing, overall 10/10

Wish I bought these a long time ago... worth the extra $$... I put Superfeet insoles in for my run as I am a bigger runner but great otherwise.

I've had them for a few weeks now and must say they are amazing. love the blue color, the heel is improved and adds cushioning for those rocky hikes. The larger and deeper lugs are an amazing upgrade from the Speedcross 4, I've been testing them out and can say the Speedcross 5 is a beast in the mud and wet conditions.They have out preformed the Speedcross 4 in every way. Love Salomon shoes and will definitely buy more.

Speedcross has been my favorite winter trail runners for mud and snow and the 5 is an upgrade to the already great 3 and 4. I don't have a wide foot so the 5s seem a bit wider than the previous models but not too much. This gtx version is a bit stiff out of the box but after a short break in they feel more adequately flexible. Excellent traction, cushioning, comfort, and support as always from a Speedcross.

upgrade from 4.0 version much lighter higher heel feel n cushion inside much more easier on the eye too ...size as before go for 1 higher than usual

I love the speedcross serie! I run every week 30-35km on extreme terrain in the mountains.... my last two running shoes were speedcross 4 and 3gtx, each of them had 3000km without problem! I'm satisfied maximally with the speedcross 5gtx as I was with the 3rd and the 4th, for ruining it's perfect better than any other runing shoe. But what I miss from it is the gps option, other shoes have gps inside, and it's more easier to calculate distance and progression....
